   It’s one thing when the entrees are brought out immediately when you finish your appetizer, it’s another thing when you get offered the desert menu while you actually have a fork in your mouth eating the remainder of your dinner. Then to be given the check, still before you’re done eating. This restaurant didn’t even come close to their on-line promise not to rush diners. Interestingly, my flambé chicken wasn’t flambéd at the table (maybe in the kitchen, don’t know, it was delivered by bus staff). The first glass of wine we received was literally the smallest pour we’ve ever seen. The second glass ordered was twice as big, pretty much confirming that the first glass was short. All in all, quite disappointing.

   The service was horrible , menus were left on the table most of the way thru dinner. We had to ask for our dirty appetizer plates to be cleared, water to be refilled . We were one of three tables in the restaurant. It was very disappointing .

   Food was pretty good. I got the sea bass and it was not hot, but had great flavor. My boyfriend got the scallops. They were pretty small and he only got 4. He complained about the temperature and he left hungry. Our server was chatting excessively with people at the bar and our drinks were empty. I ordered a Manhattan and it took over 15 min (she was chatting.) Another server checked on us and quickly grabbed it for me. It was terrible! Way too much bitters and way too much vermouth. We were pretty unhappy with the service. It took so long to order things that we skipped dessert. We may try it again sometime but with a different server. Has potential.

   We had reservations for 7:30 and we arrived early, after assisting guests ahead of us we were greeted and told they were cleaning a table for us. After about 15 minutes the hostess came back and seated us. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed and trying to accomplish many tasks alone. We were offered water when we sat down and our waitress Stephanie came over and asked us for drink orders. We hadn’t decided yet so she came back, we both ordered a martini from the drink menu. Our drinks took a while to be brought to our table by a bartender and they were half full. $12 for a half full martini glass? We ordered Shrimp Smokehouse for an appetizer, very delicious and for our entrees we ordered the Sea Bass and their version of their Chicken French, both very good. However, our meals took very long to come out and we were offered a complimentary cocktail each for the wait. Both full this time. We sat across from a “bar” area that housed glasses, water, wine bottles and a bottle of cleaner. Not appealing at all. Cleaning supplies should not be visible or near drinks. Overall the food is very good, the restaurant staff needs to get better at service and timeliness. We checked it out and will not return.

   This was my third time at Melange and the experience never fails. If anything it gets better. The food is excellent, but, most of all, the service is outstanding, quick, continuous, warm, professional. The feeling is that this restaurant WANTS you to have a wonderful time sat at one of its tables. Melange wears its heart on its waiters sleeves!

   Waiter never filled water, told me he didn’t know the Wi-Fi password,and served dinner Luke warm. I had a dish with lobster that was overcooked and so dry I could hardly remove it from the shell

    We ate at 6 highly-rated restaurants in Syracuse during the 4-day graduation weekend, Le Melange was hands down the best of them. From the friendly and inventive bartender to the upbeat server to delicious food, would come back to this restaurant over and over.

    The restaurant seemed overwhelmed and it didn’t help that our server was not very helpful. Menu is not gluten free friendly at all which we found surprising. Combination of Mother’s Day & SU graduation was too much for unemployment to handle. And why did the expediter have to yell at the servers constantly?

    Made a reservation a month prior for my girlfriend's birthday. Upon arrival they stated it would be a 20 minute wait, despite having a reservation. There were seats open at the chefs table but it was "order by phone" with a QR. We decided to sit there instead of waiting. Had to ask to be server water. Waited over 10 minutes for our drinks, before we asked someone. We could see the drinks made at the bar as servers walked past them with no regard. Food came out promptly, the chefs handed it to us. Calamari was standard but good. Brussel sprout salad was nice and refreshing, just twice the size as expected (couldn't finish). Duck legs were delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Ordered 2 more drinks, waited at least 15 minutes before someone brought them over. Plates took forever to be cleared and no one ever picked up our old drinks. Ordered a Creme Brulee and stated it was for a birthday. Waited quite a long time before we asked someone who was cutting bread. She apologized and proceeded to just prepare it without checking our order. Nothing was mentioned or noted about a birthday, was expecting just a candle. The dessert tasted like a Jell-O pudding cup with burnt rubbery sugar. They clearly did not have the QR system properly orchestrated, with no server to take responsibility or ownership. Terrible dining experience! Will not be returning nor recommending

    We had a great dinner at La Melange on Saturday night. We made a reservation for 6:30 and was welcomed by the hostess and she told us our table would be ready in a few minutes. We decided to take advantage of the bar and had a quick pre-dinner drink that was great. We were seated in about 10-15 minutes. I would highly recommend for a great night out.

    The food and drinks were delicious, however, I made a reservation for a birthday and service was not great. When we arrived on time, we had to wait 15 minutes for our table. There was no acknowledgement about this being for a birthday, yet other tables had a birthday and it was acknowledged with a firework candle and dessert. When drinks were ordered, we needed to remind the waitstaff after waiting patiently on 3 occasions. Our seat was near the bathroom as well.

    Servers were very nice and accommodating. The music and base were louder than in any restaurant I have ever eaten in. The food was average and too much fried food. Not enough variety. presentation was good. We didn’t stay for dessert because of the frenetic atmosphere. They did turn down the music when asked.     It’s very…fine. Not excellent, not great…fine. Food is very good just not at the level of some other high end restaurants in town so if you’re not going for that (high end) you won’t be disappointed. All the wait staff and bar staff are very nice, very cool. They definitely do not have table timing down and the night we were there things were running over an hour behind even with a reservation. Everyone was nice and apologetic. Still, it’s just something to know before you go. We probably wouldn’t choose to go here again unless we were joining an event or another purpose. Smoke show shrimp is cool (comes to the table in a smoker), drinks sound promising but overall meh. Food is very solid and good portions just not outstanding. It’s very ok. Again, the niceness of the staff makes up for a lot. Very much a 3/5 experience with staff being a 5/5.

    True to the description on their website. The resto have a relatively loud and vibrant beat to it… once acclimated to the vibe… really enjoyed our meal with outstanding service. We’re disappointed not to have a table and to be at the bar… would definitely come back and ASK for bar seating 👍👍👍

We also do not have a dish called Truffle White Bolognese.     A true culinary gem! Wanted a nice restaurant to celebrate my daughter’s acceptance into SU and La Melange was the perfect spot. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was delicious. Staff was wonderful too. Highly recommend & we will definitely be back.

    The food and service is absolutely amazing. I see a Michelin in its future. Shauna is a great welcoming server and the chefs use flavors and presentation that would leave Gordon Ramsey speechless. Well done.

    Overall it was a good experience but a couple things stuck out to me. First was the wait time. Even though I had a reservation, I waited in a VERY crowded front area near the bar for a good 30 minutes. There was a party of 6 that were there before I arrived, had reservations, but didn’t get seated until I had DESSERT served to me. Luckily they at least gave them free drinks. The burrata board tasted great, as well as the bucatini which was outstanding. The bucatini is a steal at the price especially because they don’t skimp on the lobster tail size. The courgette was pretty bland even with ordering chicken with it, but not horrible. For dessert they gave us a complementary chocolate bomb with a sparkler for my boyfriends birthday. That was a great touch to end the dinner. Finally, shoutout to my waitress. She was SO nice and personal.

    Went for a Saturday dinner and the only reservation available was 5:30. We thought the early slot would help us get through quickly but we were very wrong. Table wasn’t ready when we got there so we got drinks at the bar. No big deal, but we ended up getting seated 40 min late! Beyond the long timeframe (almost 3 hrs for party of 3), the service lacked throughout: - no water when we sat down. Asked for water and waiter brought one glass with no ice. Had to ask for two more - didn’t take wine glasses off the table when nobody ordered wine. They were all different types of glasses btw - didn’t fully clear table between courses As you might imagine the waiting was constant. Took us 15 min to get a box. 15 min for the check, etc. While we were leaving, a young couple got up and left as they hadn’t been visited by a server since they sat at their table. My recommendation: if you’re going to charge fine dining pricing, make it a fine dining experience. Or at least train your wait staff and take fewer reservations. You’re just making yourself look bad… Definitely won’t go back for the next 6 months, and hope the service improves in that timeframe.
