Overall, disappointing. Largely empty when we arrived. Food mediocre but nice wait staff.
Nice quiet environment for a simple meal, the food taste good, a good place to get away from the crowded areas in old Montreal.
We came with a group of 12 on the hottest day of the summer so far. This husband and wife team met the challenge of our hot, tired and hungry group with flying colors. The food was tasty, was served promptly and the desserts (made by a Parisian trained pastry chef) did not disappoint. This is a must visit place!
Strange reviews on ot-at best a 3 overall.
Ordered two wines and they brought 2 others to the table! I guess they didn’t want to open new bottles for a glass.
French fries with the muscles were horrible-soggy and soaked in oil.
Perhaps 10 muscles were not open.
Two small slices from a baguette for the table with muscles on the way!
Most tables were filled with toddlers on Saturday night-very noisy.
We just don’t understand the 5 star reviews.
Great meal and experience at Montparnasse - the cheese Board was delicious and the flank steak and Salmon were beautifully cooked. There was not a big crowd at the restaurant when we went on a Saturday night - which was surprising. Perhaps the word hasn’t got out yet??? We will return next time in Montreal - the overall experience was really enjoyable and wine list was well balanced.
Menu was limited, and entrees were ok - duck leg, mussels, croque monsieur - average french fare, salad was just strips of romaine. Don't go there if you are looking for fine french cuisine and fine dining.
Cheese and meat selection imported from France was amazing; truly something worth experiencing. Location near old Montreal is great! The owners have immigrated to Canada from France and are instant Canadians! What a great experience. We will be back! Thank you.
This husband and wife team did an amazing job taking care of us. She was the chef and he was the server and host. He was so helpful in pointing out some of their specialties. We had a cheese plate as an appetizer and they were lovely cheeses from France. Our steak frites were really nice. Great wine choices by the glass. They are a new restaurant to the Old Montreal area and would love to see them be successful. We highly recommend.
Accueil chaleureux, nourriture excellente.
French bistro at its best! Great food and perfect service. I will definitely come back to this beautiful place in Vieux Montreal!
