Qualité exceptionnelle, savoureux 👌🏼
Menu for dinner is great in general, but lobster on ice served with mayo / ketchup is more American than French cuisine: what not serve it warm with simple liquid clarified butter that is enhancing lobster's natural flavors?
Repas digne de la France
Je reviendrai !
Great service and great food.
The food was exceptional, and for that alone I would recommend the restaurant. The noise level was too high, aggravated by live music from a "crooner". Our table space was small and felt quite crowded between the bar and the front window. The waitress did not bother to tell us about the specials or what items on the menu were not even available. Otherwise the service was quite good.
Great food, service and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend.
Our friends from other country had their first meals in Montreal. Seems very enjoyed the food. Overall, I would say the service has to be improved a bit.
Maybe it was on Saturday night.
Dinner before concert best location & meal!
One of the best restaurants we have ever been to. Everything -- food, service, ambience -- was fabulous.
Fantastic food and service. Met with friends and stayed after for conversation. The staff was so attentive. Enjoyed every minute.
Service is excellent but the overall price of the food is expensive
We wanted to have a light meal and there are limited choices for such, unless you dine after 9PM where they offer a special menu.
I ordered the Moules and they were overcooked, tired and very dry. It seems they had been prepared and steamed in advance and then steamed again. My friends pasta with mushrooms was very good. The crab cake was nothing special. For what we had I found the prices rather high. The service was very good.
Wine list provides options for anyone from $40 -60 or right up to $1000 a bottle. Oyster bar, great seafood choices as well as steak. French onion soup is a chef specialty.
All staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We came our visit day in Montreal after the front desk of our hotel recommended it. That was superb. We liked it so much we came back for our last meal in Montreal. Oysters were top notch. And the service both visits was excellent. When we make it back we plan on stopping by again.
Get the duck and croque madame!!!
Great food. Service is discreet and attentive.
Have been there a few times now and the quality is always exceptional. Will return for sure
Central location. Good menu and wine selection. Good pricing for quality food, and good portion sizes. Friendly servers with good knowledge.
Good food, one of the French restaurants I would go back to in Montreal! If they would put tablecloths they would look much better, as of now it doesn’t match the rest of the decor... Could not get a reservation at a later time but we were pretty much the only table until much later than what I was looking for... wonder why... Anyway, good food.
First time in Montreal, dinner was great. Service even better.
Very good all around experience. I would come back and also give a positive reference.
Nice meal in a quiet environment despite the central location. Friendly staff and good selection at the Table d'hôte.
The waiter completely ignored us. We had finished eating and the plates were not cleared for over 10 minutes. He paid a lit more attention to French speaking customers. It would have been a much better experience if the waiter was better.
We loved this restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our table was perfect allowing for great conversation with our friends.
Service slow. We had a concert to attend. Waited an hour to be served first courses, then had only 10 minutes to eat our entrees:(((
Nourriture excellente toutefois.
Good food. My lover found it satisfying.
It was really nice to celebrate my birthday here . I really enjoyed the food, service and music
The restaurant was super cute and totally had the Parisien look and feel! The staff was very friendly and polite, the food was delicious and perfectly portioned. I found the service to be slow. For example- after being served my Americano, it took a good 10mins before the waitress came back with the milk. Also, they forgot my friends smoothie 😞 I would however be willing to give it another chance!
As usual it was excellent. I Have been here over a dozen times in the past years. They pour a great martini, salmon tartare was outstanding, as well as the duck confit. The salad was extremely fresh, with soft leaves. The vinaigrette salad dressing added a touch of sweetness that really went down well. We love sitting at the bar, which gives you a very French bistro feel, but with a broad menu, that also caters to the business traveler and tourist crowd. Oh and let me not forget the 5pm to 8pm oyster special which was excellent! 12 lovely PEI oysters for $20.
The only downside on this visit was the service. We normally get outstanding service at the bar. However on this occasion, the bartender was not very attentive to placing orders, cleaning up the dishes or providing the bill. She seemed to be off doing other things or chatting with the other bartenders. If it wasn’t for the other, very nice bartenders, who we called over, we would’ve had a difficult time getting a meal.
The waiter should pay more attention to client, because it was hard for us to find someone ( waiter) for a service.
we celebrated a graduation event it was a family get together , we went for a late lunch
food amazing , very friendly staff and very understanding.
Over priced and very limited menu
Best table in the house. Fabulous Grand Prix night with DJ
I’ve been to Pois Penche many times and had a great experience, but we went for Grand Prix weekend and were so disappointed. We ordered things we get all the time and they were not nearly as good. On top of it, they jacked up the prices for F1 (as expected) but I felt that the quality of the food was less good. The shrimp in the shrimp cavatelli was overcooked and our salmon tartare was just not as good as usual. I put a note on the reservation that it was my friends birthday which they completely ignored so I ended up telling the waitress right in front of her and she didn’t even do anything about it. She brought my friend the main size tartare when she asked for entree and proceeded to try to charge her for the main when she told them she had ordered the entree size and the other waitress said it wasn’t a problem and they’d charge her for the entree size anyways. (Confusing, I know) We didn’t leave her a great tip and she was visiblg upset, but hey, we paid double what we usually do for the same food and it wasn’t as good, and the waitress didn’t check in on us to ask if things were good or to refill the water/wine glasses frequently...
