First time in Montreal, dinner was great. Service even better.
Very good all around experience. I would come back and also give a positive reference.
Nice meal in a quiet environment despite the central location. Friendly staff and good selection at the Table d'hôte.
The waiter completely ignored us. We had finished eating and the plates were not cleared for over 10 minutes. He paid a lit more attention to French speaking customers. It would have been a much better experience if the waiter was better.
We loved this restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our table was perfect allowing for great conversation with our friends.
Service slow. We had a concert to attend. Waited an hour to be served first courses, then had only 10 minutes to eat our entrees:(((
Nourriture excellente toutefois.
Good food. My lover found it satisfying.
It was really nice to celebrate my birthday here . I really enjoyed the food, service and music
The restaurant was super cute and totally had the Parisien look and feel! The staff was very friendly and polite, the food was delicious and perfectly portioned. I found the service to be slow. For example- after being served my Americano, it took a good 10mins before the waitress came back with the milk. Also, they forgot my friends smoothie 😞 I would however be willing to give it another chance!
As usual it was excellent. I Have been here over a dozen times in the past years. They pour a great martini, salmon tartare was outstanding, as well as the duck confit. The salad was extremely fresh, with soft leaves. The vinaigrette salad dressing added a touch of sweetness that really went down well. We love sitting at the bar, which gives you a very French bistro feel, but with a broad menu, that also caters to the business traveler and tourist crowd. Oh and let me not forget the 5pm to 8pm oyster special which was excellent! 12 lovely PEI oysters for $20.
The only downside on this visit was the service. We normally get outstanding service at the bar. However on this occasion, the bartender was not very attentive to placing orders, cleaning up the dishes or providing the bill. She seemed to be off doing other things or chatting with the other bartenders. If it wasn’t for the other, very nice bartenders, who we called over, we would’ve had a difficult time getting a meal.
The waiter should pay more attention to client, because it was hard for us to find someone ( waiter) for a service.
we celebrated a graduation event it was a family get together , we went for a late lunch
food amazing , very friendly staff and very understanding.
Over priced and very limited menu
Best table in the house. Fabulous Grand Prix night with DJ
I’ve been to Pois Penche many times and had a great experience, but we went for Grand Prix weekend and were so disappointed. We ordered things we get all the time and they were not nearly as good. On top of it, they jacked up the prices for F1 (as expected) but I felt that the quality of the food was less good. The shrimp in the shrimp cavatelli was overcooked and our salmon tartare was just not as good as usual. I put a note on the reservation that it was my friends birthday which they completely ignored so I ended up telling the waitress right in front of her and she didn’t even do anything about it. She brought my friend the main size tartare when she asked for entree and proceeded to try to charge her for the main when she told them she had ordered the entree size and the other waitress said it wasn’t a problem and they’d charge her for the entree size anyways. (Confusing, I know) We didn’t leave her a great tip and she was visiblg upset, but hey, we paid double what we usually do for the same food and it wasn’t as good, and the waitress didn’t check in on us to ask if things were good or to refill the water/wine glasses frequently...
Awesome as always!
Overall very good experience!
Service level could have been better.
Had a good time. Difficult to go wrong on GP weekend.
It was the Grand Prix weekend. Lots of fun. They seemed Not prepared for the crowd , very slow to get our food but we did not mind too much. And the food was as good as usually.
We went as a group of 5 for an early dinner, the whole experience was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful and informative. The food was outstanding. We had a lovely night.
The food was good but the portions for all the plates for the 5 guests were on the modest size - all could have been comfortablly larger.
The bread and jam was excellent and a great way to ensure people were full despite the small portions.
Slightly pricy but good quality food. Veal and seafood soup must be tried.
Located right in the Golden Mile of Montreal. We had the salad with the pomegranate seeds, along with the mussels. Both were fantastic and I'd probably order the exact same thing next time. We sat right on the street and it was great people watching - both the pedestrians and the bike riders. Would definitely recommend. Others posted problems with service but we had no sign of bad service - excellent service all around.
Excellent food. Great place for a business meal because of central location. I brought French colleagues and even them were impressed.
Amazing brunch and amazing service. Overall, a great Mother’s Day brunch; Mom loved it!
Overpriced for what you get . Breakfast was average. Service was ok.
I was very disappointed when i received a charge of 15 dollars for a mimosa on mother’s day.
It was amazing!!!
We were looking for a nice, centrally located restaurant to have mother's day brunch. They were excellent about accommodating nut and shellfish allergy. The food was good and we really enjoyed our brunch. Our table for 4 was spacious and the restaurant was busy but the noise was well absorbed by the surroundings and we were able to carry on a conversation as if we were at home. Everyone walked away happy with the occasion. Parking was easy and free on the street as it was a Sunday morning. We would definitely meet up there again.
we arrive on time few minutes before 8 pm
the table was not ready .This is a disappointment ,it s a fairly expensive restaurant so it would have been nice to have the table ready rather than asked to wait a the bar .
The service was very good once seated .
Très agréable souper en tête à tête !
My wife had the smoked salmon and duck confit, both were outstanding. I had the mussels and steak frites. Mussels were excellent, steak was good but lacked a bit of flavour.overall, the food was excellent, highly recommended. The maître d’ was also excellent. Our only issue was with our waiter, he was non-existent, hence, why we thought highly of the maître d’ who stepped in a couple of times. The waiter did not offer pepper, which wasn’t on the table, didn’t refresh any of the wine glasses and after we had completed dinner dropped off a dessert menu without slowing down, just walked past and plopped it down. We have been to Le Pois Penche many times but this server was atrocious.
We had a good time and everyone was very helpful. The server even let us sample a couple of beverages before making our choices.
Very good . Food was delicious
