    Marwa was an exceptional server. She had great recommendations, excellent pairings, and timing of food delivery to the table and her communication for was fantastic. Lovely woman. Would definitely recommend and will return again one day.

    Good menu but wished we were seated with linen tablecloths not the bare table. Reasonable choice of wines but nothing outstanding. Ordered halibut but convinced i was given cod. Big shame. Lots of promise but at the end, in many ways just disappointing.

    Dear Douglas, Our chef confirmed that halibut had to be replaced by cod one day last week. Waiters were instructed to inform guests, but it looks like no one informed you. We are very sorry. It's unfortunate when errors like these happen and we hope you won't judge our entire menu based on this mistake. We are sure you'll find plenty of favourite dishes. As for the wine, we don't know what you were looking for. Our list has hundreds of bottles, many quite remarkable. Some of our tables do have tablecloth, but most are bare wood. Most guests love it, but we understand that some still prefer white tablecloth. You can request one such table next time.     Dined at the bar with a friend. We were greeted like dignitaries and given excellent seats. Staff were extremely kind and courteous, with fine senses of humor. Well-made martinis, best tray of oysters I've ever eaten, delicious hot bread and fries, a very nice striploin and hamburger, and excellent wine recommendations. Noise level never got in the way of our conversation. Nice warm light. Overall, a very pleasant evening.

    If you are in the Montreal area and are not sure where you can have a phenomenal meal. This is the restaurant for you. I was so happy with the excellent service and food !! If you live nearby, this should be your most frequented restaurant. ❤️

    Food is good. Service was bad. Felt as though we needed to speed up, choose meals quickly, and eat quickly. Plates were being removed from table as other people seated were still eating.

    Wonderful meal here on our last night of a 3 night trip. Our waitress was excellent and the general manager was also going table to table making sure everyone enjoyed! Food was delicious -- overall probably our favorite meal of the trip!

    The personnel we interacted with were congenial, helpful, and well trained. Very good. Maybe even I should have said 5 stars. The food was nothing to write home about: our oysters were the best element of our dinner: fresh, briney, and tasty. My octopus starter was nicely done and tender, but not much flavour. My duck confeit main had flabby, fatty skin, and apparently hadn't been crisped at all. Flavour was ok. My friend's fish was flavourless and his sauce tasted like right out of a Hellman's mayo jar with a bit of herbs added. Totally mediocre. I would have to say that we enjoyed the people, but the food, not so much.

    Very good French food and the service was great. I loved the chicken and the soup was also very good. The atmosphere was good despite the protests at lunch outside the restaurant. I would recommend Le Pois Penche to anyone in the mood for authentic French food.

    Great experience. Food was excellent, we had appetizers, mains and dessert and all were fabulous. Truffle mashed potatoes as a side is a must. Service was a bit slow but food was so good, we will go back.

    Dear jirden, We’ll take the 2 stars for the AC. We are sincerely sorry. We had a major breakdown and it made our dining room hot. We are glad you enjoyed some of your dishes. The scallop appetizer is a ceviche, as indicated. It’s supposed to be raw. As for choices, we serve something nice for every taste: 4 seafood platters, 4 seafood appetizers, 10 classic appetizers, 14 main dishes, 8 side dishes, 7 homemade desserts. We feel our variety is quite comparable to restaurants in our category. We hope we’ll have a chance to regain your trust. We’d love to make a better impression.     We have not dined in Montreal before so these comments are based our world experiences. The bouillabaisse was absolutely delicious. The grilled octopus was tender, tasty and presented well. The crème brûlée was a perfect ending to our meal. We thought the service staff was very organized, worked well as a team, and was well supported by the very personable manager. If you are open to it, have dinner at the bar where Rochelle will take care of you. Professional, full of energy, smiling and with a great table awareness. My only critique is that not all 2 tops provide a great dining experience. We were fortunate that the manager was patient and worked with us to find the perfect seat. As the restaurant fills up, that option may not be available. Bottom line, we will visit again when we travel to Montreal.

Maybe tou are referring to the three very popular tables for two next to the open bay windows with a great view of the street. People ask for them, but they are smaller than our regular tables. We try to advise our guests that they are perfect for drinks and little plates, but small for a full meal. It will be a pleasure to host you again. Consider us your second Montreal home!     My wife and I spent a most enjoyable evening at this spot. Greeter and Maître D’ made us feel very welcome and our server, Guillaume, was engaging. personable with a great sense of humour. Quietly attentive service made for a very convivial atmosphere permitting casual discourse among other diners. We met a very nice couple visiting from Las Vegas. We shared the most delicious sea bass which was expertly de-boned by the Maître D’. Recommended highly. We’ll be back next time back to Montreal.

    I think this restaurant has changed a lot from what I used to go to in the past two years. The dishes are not as good as before. The mutton fiber is thick, and there is no salad to choose from. They all come with fries. We often order lamb chops. I'm really disappointed this time.
