    We enjoyed the innovative approach Le Poisson Bleu takes in its cuisine. Using local ingredients as much as possible and in house preparations the meals are unusual and delicious. It’s rare to find a pescatarian restaurant that focuses on quality, fresh fish, changes its menu periodically to keep it seasonal and interesting and is reasonably priced. We particularly enjoyed the starters which are light and fresh - trout crudo and the XO matane shrimp on toast. The swordfish lardons and the braised sturgeon in the cassoulet were a revelation. The dessert eclair duo were a sweet ending to a meal that was accompanied by excellent service as well.

    Dining at Le Poisson Bleu was a delicious surprise as a first time visit. A small yet mighty menu offered dishes which were a feast to the eyes and intensified our hunger. The oysters - fresh & delish. The chermoula topping was new to us & so refreshing. The shrimp toast - decadent. The richness cut by pickled celery & fresh dill was lovely, the shrimp were abundant & juicy, the homemade bread & focaccia - can’t go wrong and the smoky goodness of the grilled sea bass for two brought memories of eating by the ocean, and the crispy spaetzle blew my mind, as a new preparation technique. Overall, a must go. Go enjoy amazing food, personable & knowledgeable service, and yummy cocktails. Can’t wait to go again - thank you all at Le Poisson Bleu!

    Had the clam chowder and steelhead trout. Nice combination of flavours. Soup was a little pricey, so ask before ordering.

    What a wonderful experience! It was our first time dining here, and we’ll be back! The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was great. The menu was of a modest size, but everything looked so good it was still hard to choose. Beautiful dishes done well.

    We went here for a birthday dinner and as always Le Poisson Bleu exceeded expectations. The service was great, the food excellent and the ambiance impeccable. We even got an unexpected little treat at the end from the restaurant. Keep up the great work !

    Nice decor and attentive service. The food was tasty enough. Regrettably, and not said often, a very limited menu. Too limited. The few wine selections (2 white and 2 red) are relatively unknown... makes it hard to move to a bottle. OK I suppose if you're in the neighbourhood. Less so if you're making it a trip.

    Nice cozy spot. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was very good. We had the crudo, the fritters, the whole fish and the braised sturgeon and the eclairs for dessert. The cocktail was pretty and delicious and the chenin Blanc paired well, my glass of wine could have been a bit more chilled. Only comment would be it is a bit noisy and loud. Allergies were taken into consideration and it was a lovely evening.

    We tried the dinner for two and it was exceptional. The best meal out I have had in a long time. Each course had delightful, subtle tastes - very much in the realm of dishes I could never possibly reproduce at home. Cozy, lovely little spot.

    Original cocktails. Swordfish carbonara was excellent. As was the Sea Bass for 2. Try the German “Lambrusco” - something different and paired well with our meal. Hidden gem. My second time here, won’t be the last. Great service.

    I really want to love this place more and will go back. The menu was mixed but the service was great and we love the location. Prices are a bit tough but that’s almost everywhere these days. Amazing cocktails (always). Will go back again.

    We had never heard of Le Poisson Bleu before booking our anniversary dinner here on September 1st. I would say that it’s definitely a hidden gem (as it’s nestled in a weird area). The menu is quite small, but the everything we had was delicious. My partner had the steak frites and I had the swordfish bratwurst. We shared their signature eclairs for dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint and cute and didn’t seem to be extremely busy so it’s nice if you’re looking to be able to have a conversation with your date (you don’t have to yell to hear each other talk). If you’re looking to try a new seafood restaurant in Ottawa, I would recommend! Thanks for hosting us, Le Poisson Bleu ♥️

    Très bon rapport qualité/prix de la nourriture servie, c'est vraiment bon. l'une des meilleures tables de la région à des prix encore abordables, a fortiori pour manger du poisson et des crustacés. Les vins à la carte, même au verre, conviennent bien avec les plats. Le personnel est prévenant, sympathique, efficace et l'endroit est convivial, avec le risque que ce soit très bruyant si vous êtes dans la première salle, avec les clients au comptoir. Il y a du stationnement accessible dans les rues adjacentes et c'est gratuit après 17h. Seul détail vraiment irritant: si les propriétaires sont francophones et le nom du restaurant en français, pourquoi le menu n'est-il qu'en anglais et les serveuses incapables d'échanger minimalement en français? C'est un peu insultant, en particulier dans la région de la capitale nationale...
