    Nice cozy spot. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was very good. We had the crudo, the fritters, the whole fish and the braised sturgeon and the eclairs for dessert. The cocktail was pretty and delicious and the chenin Blanc paired well, my glass of wine could have been a bit more chilled. Only comment would be it is a bit noisy and loud. Allergies were taken into consideration and it was a lovely evening.

    We tried the dinner for two and it was exceptional. The best meal out I have had in a long time. Each course had delightful, subtle tastes - very much in the realm of dishes I could never possibly reproduce at home. Cozy, lovely little spot.

    Affordable, comfortable, and satisfying. Neighbourhood vibes with an elevated beverage program. Whatever price point you’re looking for in your night out there’s something for you here. Consistent and considerate service with a sense of ease, you can enjoy your night if you want to catch up with friends or if you want further engagement on their food program.     Original cocktails. Swordfish carbonara was excellent. As was the Sea Bass for 2. Try the German “Lambrusco” - something different and paired well with our meal. Hidden gem. My second time here, won’t be the last. Great service.

    We had never heard of Le Poisson Bleu before booking our anniversary dinner here on September 1st. I would say that it’s definitely a hidden gem (as it’s nestled in a weird area). The menu is quite small, but the everything we had was delicious. My partner had the steak frites and I had the swordfish bratwurst. We shared their signature eclairs for dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint and cute and didn’t seem to be extremely busy so it’s nice if you’re looking to be able to have a conversation with your date (you don’t have to yell to hear each other talk). If you’re looking to try a new seafood restaurant in Ottawa, I would recommend! Thanks for hosting us, Le Poisson Bleu ♥️

    Très bon rapport qualité/prix de la nourriture servie, c'est vraiment bon. l'une des meilleures tables de la région à des prix encore abordables, a fortiori pour manger du poisson et des crustacés. Les vins à la carte, même au verre, conviennent bien avec les plats. Le personnel est prévenant, sympathique, efficace et l'endroit est convivial, avec le risque que ce soit très bruyant si vous êtes dans la première salle, avec les clients au comptoir. Il y a du stationnement accessible dans les rues adjacentes et c'est gratuit après 17h. Seul détail vraiment irritant: si les propriétaires sont francophones et le nom du restaurant en français, pourquoi le menu n'est-il qu'en anglais et les serveuses incapables d'échanger minimalement en français? C'est un peu insultant, en particulier dans la région de la capitale nationale...

    the service was very pleasant and friendly and there when needed. The food was perfect not overwhelming and not disappointing. The salad was surprisingly tasty for what appeared on the menu as simple. Not expensive, I'm going again.

    Limited menu, no side dish (we had to order bread), not complete meal, very small portion (the plate for 2 is actually for 1), very expensive for what we had in our plate, cocktails were also very expensive. The food and cocktails were not exceptional. I make better cocktail at home. My teenagers had to eat something else at home.

    Probably the most interesting place in Ottawa to dine on fish and seafood of a very high quality. The place has a good vibe, friendly and efficient service. The wine list emphasizes lesser known labels both foreign and domestic and the sommelier is very knowledgeable

    Good food. Most items are fish. Wed is half price oysters. The fried fritters were yummy but a bit salty. The Peri Peri fish was good but spicy. The éclairs were good.

    I really wanted to like this place. I was excited for a night out and this place is so highly rated. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We waited for over ten minutes before anyone approached our table to ask for our drink order (with no apologies for how long we waited just to get drinks). The best part was the $2 oysters as it was Wednesday. The place was busy when we arrived, which is great for the restaurant but did make it too loud to talk until it died down a bit. Our food was generally pretty tasty but very slow to arrive to the table. We did not get enough butter to go with our $5 bread. I wasn’t a fan of the cocktails but that is more of a personal preference. However when I ordered a glass of the sparkling red wine, I got the last of the bottle. I suspect it was not a full glass, and there was significant sediment from getting the dredges that made my wine crunky/chewy. Not exactly what I expect for an $18 glass of sparkling. Overall a very disappointing experience. Food was decent but service and atmosphere was too disappointing to consider ever returning.

    Poisson Bleu is an absolute gem. The dishes are innovative, creative, and modern while having a homemade feel. They do brunch and dinner and are a favorite of ours for both. We have had many amazing meals there from aged hamachi to salmon with a delightful bourguignon jus. Brunch today included a fantastic aged rock fish with homemade tartar sauce amd greens and a rösti gravlax with perfectly cooked eggs. Service is top notch and the ambiance and décor perfection. I suggest making a reserv before it ends up on a top ten Canada list like food & wine b/c that's def in the cards. Thank you to owners and staff who give this gem of a local spot their all.

    Excellent! The only disappointing part was the tropézienne which was just okay. Otherwise, the portions were sizable for the cost, the ingredients fresh and delicious flavor profiles. Highly recommend!

    Chef Alex Bimm has created the most innovative fish menu we have seen in this city in over 40 years of living here. As seasonal residents of Vancouver Island , we appreciate fresh fish and novel ways to cook and at Poisson Bleue, everything is executed flawlessly . We started with the very generous portion of cod accras (light and airy fritters) and the burrata with farmers’ tomatoes and cucumber topped with swordfish prosciutto . The latter was a first for us and a treat . We chose two blackboard mains - a swordfish collar Milanese aged 12 days with a Parma crust (a wow presentation that made the fish look like a perfectly crusted veal chop ) - delicious and the Rockfish over Bimm’s rice . Again a very generous fish filet , moist and flavourful over a spicy and crunchy rice with the added surprise of salmon roe mixed in adding a flavour burst as you ate as forkfuls of rice . Don’t miss dining here . P.S. the cocktails are equally creative . Try the Shark’s bite .

    Neighborhood gem! Our server was outstanding: attentive, goofy, very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. I had appetizers (crudo, oysters, swordfish carbonara) while my friend had rockfish. Dishes were very salty, but otherwise tasty. It's quite loud inside so be prepared to shout while talking.

    Food quality was very good. We especially appreciated the cod accras and pire-piri sea bass. But everything else was also very good. However, we found the prices of the wines a little bit expensive. Overall, it was a good experience and we enjoyed our dinner.

    What a great seafood place! This was our second time and it was at least as good as the first time which is unusual when your expectations are so much higher. Great vibe, greater food, the cocktails are really good and there is a fantastic selection of wines by the glass. Loved it! We'll be back again soon...

    I went to Le Poisson bleu to celebrate my birthday with my best friend. We had a wonderful evening. Friendly and attentive service. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered from the chalkboard menu, which had some more reasonably priced items. The price for wine, whether sold by the glass or by the bottle, is quite high. The wine we had though was very good. I would definitely recommend to a friend to celebrate a special occasion, but not for a casual night out. It was a pricy evening.

    What a great find…everything in this place so well thought-out, our server was terrific and although at the end of the meal he said he was new…I never would have guessed! Also fantastic because my husband doesn’t eat meat or seafood, and it’s so hard to go to a restaurant where he can eat literally EVERYTHING on the menu (except one). Dishes were beautiful, thoughtfully prepared, and unique. Would have loved MORE of that swordfish prosciutto on my plate…
