Ça fait plusieurs fois que je vais à ce restaurant et il ne cesse de m’étonner. Un service impeccable sans être hautain, une cuisine savoureuse aux parfums multiples. Excellent!

Had the 5 course tasting with the wine pairing. The mushroom dish was amazing as were the scallops and duck. This chef has a way of always out doing himself with each new plate. If you are looking for Montreal's best and most unassuming Chef, Ile Flottante is the place to go.

Nous avons opté pour le menu 7 services de la st-valentin. C'était la première fois que nous y retournions depuis les deux singes. Le menu est limité, 3-5-7 services, mais c'est correct cela permet que le chef puisse nous surprendre. La mise en bouche de gâteau au carotte sucré-salé, délicieuse. Les plats de salade de brocoli, champignons poêlés vraiment mais vraiment bon. Cela s'est gâté au spaghetti de poireau, vraiment ordinaire, difficile à manger et le caviar de saumon vraiment pas sa place. Le repas principale, magret de canard, était correct mais sans plus. Manque de saveur, la peau non croustillante mais bonne cuisson. Excellent desserts (2). La carte de vin est extrêment limitée. Comme le prix du repas nous a semblé quand même raisonnable, nous avons été satisfait du repas et de la soirée.

I loved Les Deux Singes, but they adapted their menu at one point and the Vegetarian offering regularly included fish/ seafood. I could never be sure anymore and stopped going altogether.

Ile Flottante has won me back! You can get full vegetarian for both the 3 course and 5 course menus. Everything was delicious and super creative. The staff was helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend to almost anyone.

C’est très ordinaire de ne pas offrir de choix.
Le menu est imposé.
Aujourd’hui nous recherchons une expérience globale et non a sens unique!
Trop de fioritures dans l’assiette, moins c’est parfois mieux.
Décor trop simple.
Table cassée.
Chaise ...
Plancher glissant.
Toilettes défraîchies.
Pour toutes ces raisons, nous ne recommanderons pas ce restaurant et ni irons plus

Loved the food and place !!! The wine was absolutely delicious as well.
The only drawback is that I had warned about gluten and lactose intolerances and the restaurant was not willing to adapt any of the dishes so I had to stick to the three course menu.

This is a very unique place. 3 offers: 3-5-7 services. 5 is enough food... no small plates where you look for food and find nothing,.. Every meal was fresh, tasty, well prepared, innovative and a beauty for the eyes. Most of the meal are vegan. Had duck for meat and it was so tasty. Pairing with wine was nicely done (I am habitually someone difficult to convince on this But have to admit that they did very well. ) Do we return ? No doubt. Already on my agenda.

This is a superb restaurant in terms of the quality of the food and the presentation. The staff and service were terrific. Attentive without being overly involved at the table.
I have one small wish, that they could somehow reduce the noise level. It’s a very popular restaurant because the food is so good, but when it is full, the noise level is high making conversation difficult.
Regardless, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

the appetizers are perfect!!!!
But as to main dishes, I would say it is average. The price for 3dishes is $45, which is pretty fair.
The service is also excellent! They serve dishes quickly and being helpful all the time!

From the first plate to the last, I am never disappointed and pretty much always amazed by the flavours and creativity. It is a feast for the eyes, as every plate is a piece of art. It is a treat for the palate, the smallest bubble of flavour just bursts on your tongue! In my books, it is simply spectacular and my favourite restaurant in the city!

Absolutely fantastic! If you are in Montreal, GO!! Food was great and the wine pairing was spot on. Wonderful dining experience, about 2 -2.5 hours long.
When you arrive, your table has your name on it. We had the 5 course tasting and wine pairing. Left supremely satisfied and full but not overstuffed. Highly recommend.

This little restaurant is a total GEM! It seems to float under the radar, which for me is a huge plus! They offer gastronomic fare, but in a laid-back, warm, welcoming fashion. No snobbery here - but absolutely extraordinary and sophisticated cuisine! This is definitely our favourite restaurant - not just in Montreal, but anywhere! On offer is a Tasting Menu; choose vegetarian or not, and then sit back enjoy the ambiance, a wonderful cocktail or excellent wine - and allow the Chef and his 'sous's' to delight you. While creative, the food is not 'pretentious' - but substantial, artfully presented, and every bite... sublime!
From the warm welcome and excellent service from the front of the house, to the last lingering taste of dessert, this is a restaurant you'll be longing to return to!

This was my first visit to Montreal, so I was very excited to experience a special local restaurant. The reviews on Open Table were spot on. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was excellent and my business partner and I had a great time. I don't eat French food very often, so this was a bit of an experiment for me. We loved everything. This was probably one of the best meals that I had in the past year.

We did the five course tasting menu and it was very satisfying. The food quality was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We were visiting from the US and don't speak any French, but that wasn't an issue whatsoever.

Overall I would highly recommend Ile Flottante, but know that the awning out front still saysLes Deux Singes.
