Named for her family name, Les Trois Chevaux is a restaurant experience from acclaimed chef, author and restaurateur, Angie Mar. In Chinese, ‘Mar’ represents the noble steed. When they were young, she and her two brothers were nicknamed by their beloved father and uncles “The Three Horses.”

Les Trois Chevaux embodies a renaissance of the great French restaurants of New York’s eras past, while also looking to the future of dining. Simplistic elegance, an eye for opulence, paying homage to classics and history, and the procurement of the finest ingredients are the foundation of Mar’s cooking ethos. At Les Trois Chevaux, one is sure to revel in the transportive nature of service, ambiance and cuisine.

You'd expect a restaurant of this caliber uptown, but what a surprise to have this little gem right in the West Village -- you just don't find restaurants like this downtown anymore. Chef Angie Mar (of Beatrice Inn fame) has created an elevated tasting menu that will send you soaring to the moon and back. We opted for the four-course pre fixe, and its inventive and luscious ingredients -- tender sweatbreads, velvety veal brains, pheasant rolled around perfect lobster morsels -- will leave you wanting to come back and try everything. The Ossetra caviar and black truffle croissant is well worth the $225 supplement. Adrian the sommelier was gracious and knowledgeable; the wine selections unusual, off the beaten path, and perfectly paired with the cuisine. Chef Angie made an appearance in the tastefully appointed dining room and made a point of stopping to speak at each table. This is fine dining at its absolute best, and fully without pretense or attitude. It'll cost you -- but you won't regret it.

Having dined in some of the best restaurants in the world we found Les trois Cheveaux a major disappointment. We left feeling like chumps for spending an insane amount of money for underwhelming food. There are too many great choices in NYC and no reason to go here.

Very cramped and uncomfortable seating. Food was tepid in temperature. Making a reservation was a pain because they only communicated with emails.

What an experience! Byron, Adrien (forgive me if I spelled his name wrong) were exceptional and the entire team delivered an evening we won't soon forget! Thank you Chef Mar for touching the table at the end of the night... we look forward to returning !!

A beautifully understated interior and space. Professional and kind service. All delicious high end French cuisine. In addition to classic haute French plates on the menu there are more exotic ones ie frogs legs and sweetbreads. The dining experience is intimate and meant to be special and taken with time. LTC is very expensive.

I am not a big fan of French fine dining but tonight this is what we were looking for and restaurant has delivered. Truffle caviar, sweetbreads, crab ( main course ) , cheese and desert were right on point, In my opinion range of wines r higher priced then most restaurants at this level but nice bottle of hermitage kept us happy. Service was 6 out of 5 if there is such thing. Glad we came in from UES for the experience.

My wife and I decided to celebrate her 70th birthday at LTC. At the outset, if you are going to charge a minimum of $500.00 for food, there is an expectation that the service will be impeccable and the food extraordinary. Sadly, neither was true. The service was perfunctory and not at all attentive or professional. No special attention was paid to us despite the fact that the restaurant was relatively empty. When it came time to order, my wife specifically asked about offerings on the menu. She was told directly that if we ordered the beef for two, there would be no upcharge. When the bill came---there was a $190 upcharge. With 2 glasses each of moderately priced wine, the bill was $1,000. There was no tangible recognition of the landmark birthday--no glass of champagne ot little dessert--nothing. A completely disappointing experience and not the kind of dining experience to justify the expense.

Birthday celebration. Food was delicious and service spectacular. Unfortunately, all this doesn’t come cheap. Expect to spend 7 bills for 2 (minimum).

A Culinary Masterpiece. One of the best meals of my life. Service impeccable. Small, elegant space with the most inventive pairings of tastes. The chef is a genius. One could not ask for a more perfect evening. It so rare to find a place where everything is perfect, well thought out, and gracious. Every detail, including each staff member, were perfect. It is very pricey, but for a reason. We go out to savor food, talk, be heart and make memories. This is the place that does it all. I think this is one of the best restaurants in the world.

This is a very expensive meal - $250 per person for 4 courses and the food and service are lovely. Yet the value for the experience just isn't there. I would likely not recommend or repeat this experience. There are other options in the city for a similar experience for less money.

Outstanding meal at Les Trois Chevaux! One of the best meals we have had in years. Creative French cuisine, meticulous attention to details and warm and professional service. Highly recommend the Sweetbreads, La Soupe Aux Truffles and the Beignets.

We prepaid for the prefix menu. When they kept bringing dishes I thought it was weird, but I didn’t want to be rude. Turns out they didn’t ask us if we wanted extra food but brought it anyway and added to the bill. For an extra $200.

Menu is very adventurous and great place for a date night. Would not recommend for those that are looking for traditional French cuisine as some of the dishes are very innovative. Very well executed overall, intimate setting was perfect.
