   We were seated outside on a lovely day for lunch. The patio is great as it's set down and back from the street so you don't get car noise. My friend had the Limoncello Chicken, which she raved about, and I had the Chopped Salad with crispy calamari - the salad was nice and fresh, and the calamari crispy and tasty. We both had the tiramisu for dessert (although we should have split one...). Overall a great spot for good casual dining.

   Worth the drive from Glover Park, DC to Bethesda MD to dine at Lia's. Mixed drinks were tailored as requested. Appetizer burrata was fantastic and satisfied all three at the table. Entrees were served to all at one time, great taste and appearance. Wine was a great price.

   We had a wonderful lunch at Lia's! The food was delicious (especially the calamari -- best I've had since I lived in Spain!) and the atmosphere was so inviting! Please do go to this charming restaurant.

   Food was subpar. For the pricing, you would not think that you would be receiving “hospital cafeteria” food…and I am being extremely generous by even comparing it to that. Sent one dish back because it was ice cold and had a film of grease developing on it because it had been just sitting. Received a replacement entree and it was inedible. Server saw that we hardly touched our meals, asked if we wanted it boxed up, and we both promptly said NO! Did not even go through the hassle of speaking with the manager because it seemed as the staff was totally disengaged, except our server. She was very personable and friendly…we just wished that our $100+ meal matched her energy. We will not be going back. Sorry, not sorry. I would have to get a full refund before I would even contemplate that. Do better. If I wanted to eat at the hospital, I would have admitted myself to Sibley right around the corner.

   Great service. Always friendly and accommodating. They try to make adjustments to order if asked, offer heaters if needed. We go often. Comfy and tasty neighborhood restaurant.

   This was the second time unexpectedly I had dinner at Lia's this week. Grand because Lia's is my favorite restaurant. Surprising because I came with two different sets of friends and Lia's is where each of them chose. My server was excellent. I'm a small lady and seldom finish my plate. But I did tonight.

   I had an outdoor lunch with an old friend at Lia's on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The service was excellent. I had a very good pizza and my friend was very happy with his salad. The menu at Lia's is varied and has plenty of good options for either lunch or dinner.

    The service in the bar was very slow - it took almost 2 hours to get dinner for 4 - the biggest delay was just the limited wait staff to service a very full bar area!

    I wish Lia's would offer a normal Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce instead of Kale. Otherwise, the meal was delicious (we ordered a different salad, and it was very good). I am on a restricted diet for health reasons, and I could find plenty of items I could choose from, even though there were some I couldn't eat (especially ones laced with lots of garlic). My wife had the lamb burger. which she loves, and I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which had an unusual flavor but were very tasty.

    Lia's is a great place for many reasons. Very welcoming, pleasing front desk, perfectly lovely outdoor dining with a waterfall, easy indoor (included) parking, and good menu, from burgers-pizza to quality entrees. We always enjoy it there!

Often, waiting guests do not want anything until their party comes, hence why passing staff members may not think to say "hello" and offer beverages. We have a 5-foot rule in place that assures no one is left waiting - anyone within 5-feet of a guest in distress should help. Since we do seat partial parties, we should still be asking for beverages as soon as anyone sits. I appreciate the details and will make sure to use your feedback to improve our team.

    I like Lia's- we had a nice Mother's Day Brunch there. The food is very good and the atmosphere is nice inside and out. We felt rushed- I understand it's Mother's Day and the restaurant is busy (though there were empty tables inside) but asking for dessert orders- and then delivering dessert- before some people have completed their entrees is unpleasant and rather rude.

    Service was awful. Waited about 15 minutes for a server. Was told by there was a “server mixup” and they would get our server. 5 minutes later, he arrived. The appetizers were brought out before our drinks even arrived. Drinks were also brought out one at a time. Finally placed our entree order about an hour after we arrived. Food was average at best, and overpriced. We sat outside next to a large fountain that was incredibly loud and water was all over the floor where we were sitting. Server never cleared our plates, and never offered refills on drinks. Kids French toast came covered in fruit and jam, which was not in the menu description. They wouldn’t eat them but we kept them anyway. Overall, I’d say don’t waste your time or money with Lia’s. Way too many competitors around that provide a much better dining experience.

    Appetizer of charred artichokes was quite dry and difficult to eat. I don’t recommend. But main course of scallops over asparagus risotto was superb: 4 jumbo size scallops, of which I brought 2 home and am enjoying tonight. My daughter had chicken salad with arugula, artichokes and goat cheese that she loved. We topped it off with (shared) decadent chocolate. Once again Lia’s created a great night out for us.

    The food and ambience were wonderful, but the service decidedly was not. First we ordered salads and entrees and the waitress brought everything out at once. She took the entrees back, but once we finished our salads, it took well over an hour for our entrees to come back. The waitress was nowhere in sight. Not up to Lia’s standards sadly.

    Lia’s is a neighborhood gem. I have eaten there dozens of times. As a vegetarian, it is particularly appealing – there are many vegetarian options on the menu and they are all clearly identified. We had a lovely dinner and will certainly certainly eat there again.

    Our server was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the Kale Ceasar with a side of broccoli and tomatoes, and a vegan chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully.

    The food promised to be good, and we came by recommendation of a friend who was there before and had the scallops before. we asked for a QUIET table. we are all mature ladies. the room was terribly noisy - when we left we were told we could have set by the bar. it was too late. the scallops were terribly salty. I asked for shrimps NO CHEESE. I came WITH cheese, and I had to wait for it to be re-done. other wise - it was OK. So, you tell me, how would you rate the visit?

    We have been going to Lia's for about five years now. We take her elderly father out each Saturday night. All the staff seem to have worked there forever. Which says a lot about the restaurant. The food is always good quality always a very good price and the menu changes seasonally which I appreciate. Their soups are delicious. I have to give a special shout out to Jamar. I just learned his name last night. During the dark days of Covid when everyone was wearing masks around somehow you knew he had a big smile even when he had a mask on. He was a ray of sunshine during the scary times. Always a positive attitude and so friendly. He will stop by your table even when he's not waiting on it. We have had Tim the last couple of times and he's a super nice guy too all the staff is good.

    Great atmosphere. Welcomed on arrival and greeted at door. Only had to wait a few minutes for our table, which we had reserved in advance. Busy outdoor terrace had a lively atmosphere. Drinks came quickly. Starters took much longer - half an hour. But we were enjoying our evening so much that it didn't matter and they were extremely busy. Staff were efficient and had a great attitude. Food was good. We only ate a couple of starters with our wine - we tried the burrata with figs and the calamari. Both were good. The calamari could've been hotter. It felt like it had been waiting in the kitchen and would've liked to come to our table sooner! This seems like a nice neighbourhood restaurant. Will try again - midweek next time - when not so busy.

    Beyond burger had the consistency of microwave rubber and no taste. Our server was very kind, but profoundly inattentive, and we kept having to look for him Despite the fact that there were not many tables busy. However, the outdoor patio is lovely and I’ll just order something different next time.
