   This is a lovely place, sitting on the river as it does. My wife and I dined there for lunch on a Thursday, and really enjoyed the place. The food (shrimp asian salad, and the burger) was tasty and plentiful. The service was excellent, very attentive. We sat outside, and it was just a great experience on a beautiful day.

   This place is a GEM! Fresh, beautifully crafted dishes that are seasonal were incredibly delectable. The atmosphere of the renovated 1812 home is clean but warm with tasteful artist touches. Our server, Latesha was, for a lack of a better word, PERFECT. Her sweet personality blended with her professionalism made for a delightful experience. The homemade chocolate cake was ridiculously delicious and the wine and spirits selection hit just right with us. We will absolutely be back the next time we’re in town and will ask for Latesha!

   Our favorite restaurant. Worth the drive from Louisville. Everything is first rate from, the food, the service, the ambience, the amazing restoration of the historical mansion, to the view of the Kentucky River. Simply Amazing!

   What an amazing find!!!! We chose this because it was close to Buffalo Trace and on Open Table, had no other reasons. It is a refurbished historic home. The design inside and out is lovely. It would be perfect during warmer weather to sit outside to watch the river. The staff were personable and informative. The food was so good and served timely. But the star of the show for our group was a drink they just created….the Crimson Float! Oh my!! I wish we lived closer to make this a regular stop!!

   New favorite in Frankfort. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in with friendly staff and courteous conversation. I love that the menu changes based on the time of year. The chef is top-notch. Great for a romantic date night with beautiful view of the river.

   The staff was not engaging. Never greeted us in a friendly manner, never asked us where we were from, etc. we had a reservation and when we got there, they wanted us to eat at the bar. No, we would not. Food was great but it was not a warm “southern hospitality” atmosphere.

    We came in for our first visit to have Sunday brunch. Limewater sits on a nice property and neatly appointed rooms in the Antebellumy house converted to a restaurant. There was a small, but nice selection of bourbons on the drink menu, which included a few signature cocktails. The brunch menu had a perfect variety of offerings and all sounded tantalizing. The service sucked. There’s no nice way to describe the experience, the service is what I’ll remember and it will keep us from returning. After being seated and the server coming past the table numerous times, I had to ask for drinks, there were only two other tables. No biggie, but as I crunched my ice for the remainder of the visit I was never offered another. Again, not the end of the world. The server recommended a lemon blueberry muffin to start off with and mentioned it was big enough to share. It sounded good so we ordered one and it was fantastic, chuck full of blueberries, Sam Rothstein would’ve had no complaints. When the small plates were taken up, the server moved our knives, covered in blueberry off and set them back on the table. I did ask for a clean knife to use with the main of Eggs Benedict. The mains came and the food runner presented the plates, hands up in her sleeves and after an awkward second I realized she wanted me to take the plate she cradled. When I ask how hot the plates were, she gave a wide-eyed look and said H O T. What the heck, and I now have to grab them? She was not joking. We got our food though, it looked great…let’s eat! That knife I had ask for earlier, well it took a bit for the server to return and me jogging her memory, I mentioned I would like some ketchup for the potatoes and the lady ask for some maple syrup for her waffle. I can’t describe the way the server cut her eyes in disgust at request. The food looked great though and I was excited to cut into it. My poached eggs had hard yolks, probably from the heat lamp that seared the plates. IHOP does it better!

    I was visiting Frankfort from Central Illinois and would make the 5 hour trip just to dine here again. The setting, food, drinks and service were outstanding. I hope Frankfort supports this establishment. You’re lucky to have it in your backyard.

    Food is all locally sourced and homemade. Waitress was also a bartender and sommelier. Fabulous Cosmo before dinner!! I had the herb crusted salmon. My friends got pork schnitzel and the lo mein. All of us loved our food. Latesha was a wonderful and attentive waitress! We cannot wait to go back!!

    Good, not great. But, the prices are very high: a draft beer for $10?! Food portions were very good and the house the restaurant occupies is very well decorated and is extremely well maintained. Awesome atmosphere. 2 people: appetizer, meals and drinks for $160 “all-in” (includes tip) simply seems too much given everything. Especially in Frankfort, KY.

    Stopped for lunch and food was wonderful with great service. Latesha provided recommendations that were spot on. Great lunch spot prior to stopping at Buffalo Trace. Very nice restaurant.

    The food is quite good and the setting is lovely. For a nice restaurant, I was disappointed that there was really no wine selection. Other than that, it was very nice.

    I took my Dad for Sunday Brunch. I got a waffle that was excellent and my Dad got a biscuit and gravy dish the he liked very much. Whitney served us and did a great job. I'm excited about going back when the weather better.

    With my first step into Limewater I felt like I was transported to another world! The decor is absolutely stunning, and the ambience I’d definitely upscale. Our servers were prompt and polite, but they were a bit robotic with the head server repeating the same line, “how is everything?” every time she checked on us. Also, the numerous piercings and hand tattoos were distracting and felt jarring for the upscale atmosphere. The food was good but not great. The butternut squash soup was phenomenal. The Caesar salad was a little under dressed, but the ciabatta crisps were perfect. The salmon and steak we ordered had delicious accompaniments with incredible sauces, but the steak, while moist, was very overcooked. We ordered the house made breads which were toasted but not warm making the cold, hard butter that was served with them difficult to spread. Despite these negative comments, our overall experience was very good and we will return - especially during the warmer weather - to sit outside and enjoy the river view. With a few tweaks, Limewater is sure to be a favorite upscale dining option.

    We had a lively lunch. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We got great service. The restaurant was not too busy so we were not rushed to vacate our table which allowed us to have a leisurely lunch.

    My daughters treated my husband and me to lunch for my birthday. We have enjoyed dinner several times but this was our first luncheon and everyone enjoyed their selections. I cannot recommend this beautiful restaurant more highly. Our server, TeeTee, is a gem and we have enjoyed her before and she again did not disappoint. My husband loves to banter and she held her own and then some which always entertains him. She threatened him with time out again even telling him she had reserved a chair in the entry, but he managed to behave and avoid the punishment.

    Our First Visit to Limewater… we’ll definitely be back. One of the best meals out in a while. If you like Manhattans, Whitney’s Holiday Manhattan is a must!!!! Great teamwork in service and friendly people all around in a beautiful setting.

    Our sandwich was really good. Waitress did not ask for drinks before meal. I felt menu was limited. You could get soup and half sandwich for lunch but not soup and half a salad. As a personal observation the atmosphere of a historic property was diminished by the ultra modern attempt of art work.

    Enjoyed a belated birthday celebration in this lovely decorated old home! Started with the artichoke dip and some delicious speciality cocktails which didn't disappoint. Moved on to shrimp and grits .. good but could have been spicier (for me), lo mein with chicken and pork schnitzel .. all very tasty and delicious!!! Ended with some bourbon cream and espresso martini sharing the Blondie ... so decadent!! A favorite restaurant of mine ... I take all my friends there!! The owners are awesome as well as all the staff ... very accommodating! Cambria was our server who was very attentive, informative and knowledgable of the menu .. a real delight!!

    Enjoyed a double date night out with our dear friends for nearly 50 years. The food was exceptional for each of us and the wine delicious. Our server, LaTisha was attractive, attentive, efficient, and entertaining! My husband loved bantering with her and she certainly held her own!!
