Drinks took 20+ minutes to arrive... for half the table. The other half of the table's drinks took almost 30 mins... for a first drink. I worked bar and restaurant for years; this is a failing strategy. Booze is where the margins are... it also keeps patrons happy.
When the food did arrive, it, too, arrived for 2/3 of the table. The other third arrive 10 minutes later.
No one expoing the food had any idea who ordered what. Like zero idea.
Food itself was great. I'd never take a group of executives there again however... or even a group larger than 4. Little Goat doesn't seem to know how to accommodate tables of that size.
Good food; disappointing experience.
Good vibes and good atmosphere. The hostess was accommodating, as I had a reservation but showed up a bit before and was able to switch the time. Had the Banh Mi burger with goat and split a Shrimp and Pork Belly noodle dish as well, both of which were absolutely delicious! Must try the milkshakes if you have the chance!
We received half of our meals on time-the second half came out in a sporadic delivery over 15 min.
Delicious; so much flavor! The Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich tasted so amazing.
We went on a weekday for brunch, and it was incredible - there wasn’t a wait, there was very little noise, and the menu is super interesting. We got the chicken and French toast (their take on chicken and waffles) and the Elvis waffles (oh.my.god), and we split the tempura mashed potatoes (salivating even thinking about it right now). Totally delicious and reasonably priced for the amount and the quality of food you get!
Coming from Boston we were truly excited to try Little Goat. Highly recommend by multiple friends and it truly lived up to the hype. We can't wait for our next Chicago trip so we can go ahead.
Visiting from out of town and went to Little Goat Diner with our 3 kiddos. It did not disappoint. Fun atmosphere, great service and delicious food. Friendly in all aspects for our kids - but delicious innovative food for the grown-ups. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.
Son’s 6 month birthday
Sat outside under the big green trees which provide perfect shade and comfort! The staff is accommodating and patient which goes a long way when dining with your toddler as I was! Avocado vegan toast was the best thing I’ve eaten lately and the special omelette was also flavorful and delicious! Bottomless coffee and friendly peephole passing by with the kids and dogs and just a happy place to eat on a Saturday morning!
There were a lot of flies inside and a lot of people seem to be bothered by it besides us. It was unfortunate the management could not do anything about it
We rushed our dinner to get out !
Great experience! Service was slow at first but overall it turned out great. Food was excellent as always.
most of the food was delicious, but very heavy. the crumpets were a miss - deep fried and all you could taste was the fried. Cinnamon roll was outrageous
Had brunch for my friend’s bachelorette party, and we had a great time! Reservations were seamless, food was delicious, service was very good. Would definitely return!
Food was pretty good but service was slow, inattentive and unfriendly. Wouldn't return.
I actually ate here twice during my trip to Chicago: for dinner and breakfast. The food is good - a twist on diner food, which is always welcome. The service is slow and messed up 3 things in my 2 trips, which is a little too many. The food took a little too long to come out both times, and some was burning hot and some was cold, which suggests that the kitchen isn't quite good enough. We always waited just a little too long between courses and for drinks and dessert menu and our check... you get the idea. Maybe the whole diner vibe made me expect everything to be snappier. The service was friendly and very hip, but maybe a little too hip - I could have stood a bit more professionalism.
Good for anyone at anytime, casual yet great food.
Funky little spot with a bit of a diverse menu that does not get too wild. Great food and great atmosphere!
Weekday lunch date with the lady. It’s a low key venue with amazing comfort food. You won’t be eating clean but you will leave happy and full. Prices are amazing and the place is cool. Not high end like girl and the goat but the chef is behind something amazing. Service was a little bit on the slow side (maybe bc I’m from NYC I am just impatient and it was also lunch time at a diner) but the waiter was amazing and new the ingredients and flavors of each dish. On point and can’t wait to go back for dinner and see the vibe then.
- patty melt, highly recommend probably the best I’ve ever had and I’m a big burger guy. So this was 9.6/10 on patty melt scale. Well flavored, lots of cheese and the bread was perfect. Not your typical dry rye bread
- kabobs, mixed flavors and a lot going on. Truly an unforgettable dish both from presentation and taste. Very good. Not traditionally served. The “naan” was out of this world. Sesame oil, chili oil, whatever it was is hands down the best. For a chicken kabob 9.4/10
- Caesar salad. You don’t go here for a salad. Not bad, not traditional. Leave it at that it was just a side and not needed bc the portions are perfect already.
Just great food, imaginative dishes, a really fun atmosphere and quick service. Love this place for lunch. Always a crowded and hopping. Only negative thing I'd say is that it's a little noisy. The acoustics in the place seem pretty bad and it can be tough to have a conversation. it doesn't even have to be that busy, it's just the way the sound is in the room - you kinda have to yell a bit to be heard over the constant din. And yet, I go back all the time - should tell you haw great the food is.
I have to knock Little Goat down a star from previous visits. The food is good, the atmosphere lively, the wait with a reservation only a couple of minutes. But a bit of the wow factor is gone, the 1st couple of times, the wait staff was engaging, the food was fantastic, they had great breads and awesome desserts. Now the food is good, the wait staff OK, none of the desserts was appealing and no more bread of the day. We were celebrating my birthday and they brought me out a little dessert which was nice but then my dining companion was left without one and it was then weird to order one for him as I had already eaten mine.
Great place for an informal get-together. You can actually have a conversation with all of the people at the table.
Waaaaay too warm. Need to boost the AC.
Just a wonderful overall experience! First time there. Great cocktails (esp the beer a la spritz) and fantastic entrees. Loud and warm. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was great! By BF and II split the CRISPY CREOLE CHICKEN SAMMY and WHAT ABOUT "KEBOB".
The Kebob was my fave by far! The chicken sammy was good to but nothing out of this world amazing.
I also ordered the chai latte which was also very good! Will def be going back because I'd like to try the LOS DROWNED.
Side note- place is def loud. Would not recommend for a group larger than 4 as you wont be able to hear each other talk.
My experience overall was great! I really enjoyed my birthday here☺️
Food was fabulous. It’s pretty loud inside but not terrible. Outside dining is great if the weather permits. Food combinations were amazing
I had a goat burger. It was the best burger I’ve had. Not greasy, very creative ingredients, and phenomenal flavors.
Busy restaurant but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Friendly, efficient service. We tried a delicious okonomiyaki with pork belly (like a light, savory pancake with bacon on top). Also ordered fried chicken on top of French toast which was tasty but not extraordinary. However, the tempura fried mashed potato was brilliant and yummy.
We came here for a breakfast birthday celebration and it was ridiculously amazing. Our server was happy and helpful and crazy amusing. That is no small feat for Sunday at 9 am to be sure, but she 100% rocked.
We had a little of everything, but our favorite was Little Piggy Went to China. So good.
Can't wait for next time.
Always a great meal! The menus has Stephanie’s little personal touches all over it
Don’t go often enough. Never a bad bite !
Food was amazing, especially the French toast and Spanish Omelette! Booths are very large and accommodate our large family of 7 comfortably. Kids menu is a little pricier than most places, but very tasty. It would be great if coffee cups with their little goat were available for purchase, such a cute little goat. We had a great time!
Great location and nice atmosphere. Truly a diner experience however. Very, very loud and OK food. Enjoyed the Naan appetizer a lot, but there are few choices to eat healthy.
Amazing service and food!
This was my 3rd time to one of Iron Chef Izard's restaurants, and she has yet to disappoint. The atmosphere is casual, trendy, and very approachable. I am a self proclaimed foody and must say that Chef Izard has nailed flavor, comfort, ingenuity, and overall yummyness!! I had several dished but the one that I can not shut up about is the home fries!! OMG!! Chunks of potatoes, chunks of pork belly, covered in the most amazing sauce I have every had!! (This is coming from someone who has eaten food on 4 continents and over 25 countries) Legitimately I just don't know how she does it, something as simple as pork and potatoes turned into culinary nirvana!! A must eat in Chicago!!
I may have ordered the wrong thing. My side of macaroni was very delicious but I ordered the crispy creole chicken Sammie and was not that impressed. The bun was too big for the sandwich and it just wasn’t that tasty. It was also very loud as there are very high ceilings. It just wasn’t what I expected but I think this place would be great for brunch or lunch. I will say that I liked the fact that you could have vegan, gluten free, or dairy free menus and the hostess asked us up front. That’s a huge plus.
Everyone was sweet but I stand firmly if you have a reservation you shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes
What's the point of making a reservation if they're not going to seat you until 20 minutes after your reservation anyway? They need to get way better at efficiently turning over tables and seating people, especially on a busy Saturday. No one should be waiting and seeing 4 available tables at a time. It is ridiculous.
Flavours were great but be careful if you order the full goat, it’s too much food. Delicious, but too much.
Fantastic service and delicious food. We had such a blast at this hip and fun restaurant in a super great area. Highly recommend this spot to anyone. We were on a time crunch to see a show and they got us in and out quickly without compromising the creative and delicious food.
Early for reservation but able to take seat immediately at the communal table as it was 230pm. Bit slow service taking order and getting check- thinking that may have been due to the communal table but otherwise everyone was happy with their meal. Ample gluten free options although no dedicated fryer for potential cross contamination and soy listed as minimal so must pay attention to foot notes.
