Tuna and salmon sushi were incredible! The layers of flavour were mind blowing. A different sushi experience, that is for sure! Duck wings, unique and delicious. Effort made on vegetarian dishes is always extremely appreciated. Mushroom sushi was fantastic. Yummy cocktails, local beer on tap. Prices were very reasonable. A+++

Second time at LIV. LIV is a nice change from the other restaurants In the downtown area. Food quality is amazing! Presentation is fabulous, flavours are amazing. Atmosphere is lively and overall good vibe. Service is great!! Would recommend this place if you are looking for great flavours and something different!

Amazing!! Food and service were excellent. We went at 7pm on a Friday and we’re in and out in a just over an hour (2 people). We had the Salmon Lover Roll, Sunset Roll, Tuna Wonton Tacos and BBQ Pork Dumplings. Everything was excellent but the sushi especially, maybe the best sushi I’ve ever had.

Very unique dining experience. Food is presented beautifully and the flavours are exciting and very bold . There was a great buzz to the place and the cozy seating enabled you to engage with other guest if you choose. The kind of place where you could feel like moving to the Bar to spend your evening.

20 dishes hit the table at the one time (group of 6) we had to lay glasses and bottles on the floor to make room. Asked for some things to be kept in the kitchen until we physically had space for them and they were sent out 15 minutes later rubbery, old and not hot. Were rushed to pay and leave because they wanted to use the table for a new group. Felt unwelcome, rushed and uncomfortable.

We had a great experience at Liv. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We started with two very refreshing salads, a cucumber salad and a mango salad. Both had an asian twist. For main, one of us had the lamb shank special. it was appetizingly presented and absolutely delicious. we also had salmon dish on menu which was delicious altho a little undercooked in centre. For dessert, we shared the chocolate orange cheesecake with almond shortbread which was served in a bowl as a deconstructed version of cheesecake. The textures and flavor were amazing! This was our first visit to Liv. We will Definitely will be back!

It was overall amazing. The food was great and definitely going back for it. But it was just too noisy. The music was a bit too loud and people too were loud. But nevertheless that doesn’t stop from having a good time.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had thus far in downtown St. John’s. The food and service was exceptional. Great vibe, nice decor. 10 stars. Side note. The Tempura Squash was extremely delicious.

We have been to Liv a number of times and the food and service has been excellent!! However on this occasion, not so. The pork dumplings were cold, however it was taken off our bill. The main courses were really good as usual. For dessert we had the churros. They were burnt so they took them back and came back with another serving and they were much better. Our server was exceptional and we want to personally say: Thank you! for your great service and understanding. We will be going back there again.

I recently dined at LIV restaurant with a group of 8, having made a reservation for 17:00. The initial impression was positive as we were seated at a lovely table in an aesthetically pleasing ambiance that set it apart from others. However, the overall experience quickly took a turn for the worse. Our evening at LIV can be best described as a rushed affair. Our waitress seemed determined to rush us through our meal, serving all our courses at once instead of the customary appetizers followed by mains. To make matters worse, she presented us with our bills before we had even finished eating, a rather unusual practice in nice dining establishments. The pinnacle of our disappointment came when another waiter approached our table, requesting us to vacate it promptly. The reason given was that there was another party with a reservation at 19:00, and they needed to clean the table. This abrupt eviction left a bitter taste in our mouths. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the way we were treated, the waiter mentioned that our reservation had a time limit of only an hour and a half. This was baffling, as I had made the reservation through OpenTable, and there was no mention of such a time limit. I have dined at various upscale restaurants regularly, but I have never encountered such an ungracious and restrictive dining experience before. While I understand the concept of turning over tables to accommodate more guests, it should not come at the expense of diners' comfort and enjoyment. Furthermore, the food, unfortunately, did not live up to the establishment's reputation. It can be described as mediocre at best, failing to justify the rushed service and lack of accommodation for guests. My visit to LIV restaurant was marred by a disappointing level of service, an unexpected and unmentioned time limit on our reservation, and food that left much to be desired. Fabulous service delicious food! The music could be at a lower volume and maybe a little less like a nightclub but I will be back. Was missing a couple of items from previous menu: pork belly pancakes and Korean fried chicken hope they make it back in the future.

Everything was great except that the food service was too fast. I ordered 3 dishes and everything was brought to the table and eaten within 45 minutes of sitting down. We would have spent a lot more on drinks had the food been paced better.

Our server was great. The food was good- they need to learn basic sushi roll techniques, rice was way to thick and way to “creamy”- fast to come out if the kitchen, good presentation but STOP with the pea shoots on everything, it’s not an enjoyable edible garnish. The air conditioner above the table beside us had an intense leak which soaked the table and floor. Over all decent food, minus the sushi roll, fun atmosphere and great service.

A great vibe and cool dining experience. So nice to see such a chic spot full and busy on a Monday night. Food was absolutely delicious, quick and plated beautifully and uniquely. Service was excellent and we can’t wait to come back!

We always enjoy dining at LIV, however the music was unusually loud and not great for dining. The staff did turn it down after we asked, which was much better. We have been there a number of times and never had heard the music quite so loud nor was it so club like previously. I do hope this is not something that LIV will be now doing, as we truly enjoy eating there. The staff were great, as always and the food was awesome!
