One of LA’s best Italian restaurants, Locanda Veneta aims to transport you to Venice, Italy. Where the freshest and often deceptively simplest ingredients are combined and cooked into art. The cozy room, often dotted with celebs, is elegant but there’s nothing fussy about the menu. Here you’ll find favorites such as a fresh-vegetable minestrone; wild mushroom risotto; and spinach and ricotta cheese gnocchi. Garlic, fresh herbs and olive oil dress many of the pasta, meat and fish dishes; and the veal scaloppini gets a different preparation every night. This is just an old fashioned, good service, great food kind of place. They left us alone to enjoy our wine for quite a while. We spent hours there undisturbed and well taken care of.

Another absolute fabulous meal. Started off with the world’s best fegatini. It’s a to die for dish. Then I had the fettuccine with sea urchin. This also is a fabulous dish. The creamy sauce along with the sea urchin, cream fresh and caviar is amazing. Service was once again impressive. Can’t wait to return.

Made a last minute reservation for dinner. Was greeted by Massimo and promptly seated. Place seemed to be busy. Unfortunately one server was a no show and the bus boy was off. My dinner started with the soup. Zucchini. Made no sense, but was excellent. The I had the Chilean Sea bass over a bed of lentils. A superb plate of food. This was all accompanied by a bottle of 2007 Lynch Bage. Amazing. In closing, Massimo was the bus boy tonight, server etc. He did an amazing job. Told jokes and always had a smile on his face. Great job.
