   This is a hidden gem in a small town. The location, ambiance and food all very good. I would rate service a 5 except we had a very odd interaction with host. When we arrived early at 7:10 for a 7:30 reservation we were told since our reservation was for 7:30 we would be seated then. It wasn’t crowded. After other parties arrived and were seated we asked if we could please be seated earlier and eventually we were at 7:25. It was if we were penalized for having a reservation. I have never had that happen before.

   We were passing through on a road trip and saw Loma’s as an option via OpenTable. It was a quaint restaurant in a small town just east of Lexington. We were seated quickly and ordered at our own pace. The atmosphere was nice. I had the shrimp and grits, my wife had the salmon. My children ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals. If I lived there, I would go back for sure. They had a decent beer selection and the wine and cocktail menus were ample. Our server, while pleasant, was also covering 3 other tables, one was a large birthday party. He could have used some assistance to keep everything going, but that’s not on him! He did a fine job. Not great, but fine.

    First off, our server Jessie was great. Attentive, friendly, and did an overall wonderful dinner service. Our Brussel sprouts were as good as usual and our drinks were just as tasty. The problem is with our main dishes. I had the scampi special which had nice mussels but very tiny and bland shrimp all served in a tiny bowl. Not what I've enjoyed in the past. My wife has a side salad which was half the size it had been in the past. The biggest disappointment was her salmon dinner. It was a properly cooked piece of fish alone on a platter with a bowl of mashed potatoes. Nothing like we've ever had before. It was very unappealing. I wish I would have taken a photo for you to see.

    Great setting, a variety of menu choices. Liked what we had though glaze was a bit too sweet. Would have been ideal had we been able ti catch wait staff eyes for another round, and dishes should have been cleared as we finished with them rather than accumulating on the table. That said, it was an enjoyable experience, and we would return again.

    We are on our honeymoon and are doing a staycation so we decided to do a nice dinner! We were referred by a friend, and was he right! The food was top notch, service was on point and it was a beautiful place to eat. 10/10 recommend and we will 100% be going back.

    Overall, a nice place to dine. Need to work on the timing between courses. We were still enjoying our salad when the entrees were brought out. Drink prices are high. $12 for woodford and $13 for Buffalo Trace are &4-5 above average

    SO DISAPPOINTED! We've eaten here before and the food was outstanding but this time it was more than horrible! Not only that but I made reservations for 515 pm and when we arrived I asked for a booth bc that is how I am most comfortable and I was told I didn't have reservations for a booth (I wasn't given that option, and we've never been told no when a restaurant is empty). I said ok.. but your restaurant is empty, except for us and 2 other couples. She said, well those are reserved. SO I tried to be understanding. Then we were sat in the back room where there was NO ONE.. and the whole hour we were there, only two other couples showed up for the many empty booths they have. In addition the food quality went way down. We like this restaurant last time, the same as we do Tony's in Lexington. But this round the food was nasty and wings were completely disgusting. Everything was super coated in sugar, unlike last time. We certainly won't be back! SUPER DISAPPOINTING!!!

    Food was delicious! We parked on the street, which I think is free 24/7. The building and Immideiate surroundings seemed historic. Only thing they need to add is a diaper changing table in the bathroom. We went Saturday During lunch time and there wasn’t many people in there at all. I’m from Louisville and I would say this place better compared to Louisville area restaurants. I had the avocado turkey and candied Bacon sandwich, husband had steak, Mac and cheese was creamy, kids meal was huge.

    Beautiful venue. Great service. Food looked great. Hot brown was delicious. Shrimp and grits was average at best. Shrimp were cooked perfectly but did not have a lot of flavor. Grits were really thick and the bacon bits were super hard, corn was chewy! Would try it again just not the shrimp and grits.

    We visited Loma’s on Easter Sunday for an 11am brunch and it was a pretty day to drive from Lexington. The crème brûlée and the banana pudding cheesecake were the highlights of our meal, amazing desserts! The menu was limited to exclude the main entrees so we were a bit disappointed in that since most of them were very tempting on paper. My husband had the beer cheese burger with Loma’s tots and I had the salmon BLT with Brussels sprouts. Both were very good, particularly the large, perfectly seasoned and cooked, piece of salmon. Loma’s tots are also delicious potato patties with tasty seasoning and veggies inside. It wasn’t terribly crowded until we were leaving so the noise level was relaxing and we were able to enjoy conversation. The whole restaurant is pretty but ask for a table in the far dining room if you enjoy a beautiful fireplace. Service was just a little bit slow for not being crowded but our waitress was lovely and friendly and the sweet tea is freshly brewed.

    First (of many more) dinners at Loma's in Winchester Okay, I can say without any embellishment whatsoever that Loma's is my new Coles-away-from-Coles. We've been wanting to eat here for a long time since moving but, for whatever reason, haven't. Didn't know what we were missing, for sure. We started out with Loma's Tots - potato cakes mixed with pork belly, roasted corn, poblano pepper and gouda cheese, topped with a chili-lime ranch type dressing. Hell of an opener. I ordered the filet (med. rare), with greens braised with pork belly and grilled asparagus. Even though I would've preferred the grilled ribeye, I'm always interested in how a higher-end restaurant does the filet. Usually, there's a choice of sauces - Bernaise, Hunter, Oscar, or something (editor's note: hell - I could eat a plate full of Oscar sauce without any meat at all and die a happy death from a heart attack halfway through the creme broulee). This comes naked in all its glory: no sauce would really improve a cut of filet mignon seasoned, seared and grilled to perfection like this was. Better than Malone's. Honestly. And for about 2/3 of the cost. Since acquiring a taste for Southern cuisine, greens are one of those sides I absolutely love. They're cooked all kinds of ways, but the best have a nice porky undercurrent at their heart. These greens were braised with a deftly balanced texture that was just right - not chewy, yet not mushy - and with a subtle pork belly flavor that danced across the tongue instead of assaulting or even competing with the veggies. No vinegar, no salt and pepper need apply. The grilled asparagus spears were handled in much the same way: nicely seasoned with just the right texture between crisp and flaccid. I usually put some black pepper on damn near everything, but I never even looked at the shaker. I was ready to clean (and surreptitiously lick my plate), but I saved some to bring home just so I could savor it again tomorrow.
