We had eaten at Lone Star across Ontario for several years. We’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere, staff, food and experience. We also understand restaurants need to rebrand/renovate every 5 or so years to stay competitive. We were excited to eat at the Cantina. First off, the menu has been condensed considerably. The salsa and chips are no longer offered at no charge. We ordered the 3 salsa and chips as a starter and the chips were stale. My favorite item (chimichangas) has been removed from the menu so I ordered fajitas. My husband ordered the Burrito. My fajitas were served on a hot plate but the chicken and vegetables were not. The Burrito was half the size it used to be and it was obvious it sat under the heat lamps for an extended period of time. He could not eat it. The waitress did come by and when told of the temperature of his meal did offer to remove it and get home something else which we declined both (we never send food back or order a replacement). Next there seemed to be an issue with the sound system. There were several times it became so loud we couldn’t hear each other across the table; we enjoy louder music but this was over the top. Lastly the service. It seemed to take forever to get our initial drinks and longer for our server to come back for additional beverages. When she took my husband’s meal away we didn’t see her for a while. It was such a let down, so disappointing. It will be a bit before we return.

Great food but pricey. And the restaurant wasn’t busy but the service was terribly slow

First time back at Lone Star since the renovation and change over to Lone Star Cantina. Shifted from Tex Mex to more Mex. Food and service were excellent as were the margaritas. Would return for sure.

Changed there entire menu. Everything has cilantro and fajitas at 71$ not worth it.

The service and ambiance were excellent. The food was good but not authentic Tex Mex cuisine. The guacamole should not be served with cheese or corn. And the beans were too sweet. Adding sugar to black beans is a no-no. I'm guessing this is to make it fusion, but I think sticking to the basics would be better.

We have gone to the former Lonestar several times. First time at Cantina. Felt the drinks were over priced. 16 oz draft and frozen margaritas felt were expensive. Margaritas were weak. Also could not customize mine by adding more sugar. Got more fajitas when it was Lonestar, but Cantinas were just as tasty. Bigger portions for your money on enchiladas….( tiny bit of rice…really) Nachos were excellent…..but again pricy. No chips when we arrive like Lonestar. Fahita Bread and chips were very good.

We felt we were not a priority at our table Even when he went on break and introduced us to the girl who was taking over his tables felt we still felt completly ignored
