   The time we visited the older location was much better. We went for Mother’s Day and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. We were there for 2.5 hours for brunch, which was a bit long on account of the slow kitchen. They were nice about us bringing our toddler though.

    Super unique restaurant and dining experience. Servers know literally everything about the menu. Menu is fun and has tons of items you won’t see anywhere else. Cool ambiance very solid Texas feel.

    Wonderful dining choice with great game selections. Started with a single fettine….ok but would not get again. Appetizers: rattlesnake/rabbit sausage outstanding, wild boar ribs interesting but the elk sliders were amazing flavor profile. Shared a beet salad, wonderful. Mains: elk tenderloin and garlic stuffed filet. Both were executed well and flavorful….elk tenderloin smaller portion-fyi. Service from entire staff was friendly, efficient and exceptional!     This was our most disappointing trip to Lonesome Dove. When we ordered, the server mentioned something about their new chef, but in a positive way. We didn't think much of it at the time. It took quite a while for our initial drink order to come, but our server was clearly a pro. She had a great personality and was making up for the wait in charm and keeping us informed. Our appetizer came out after quite a wait as well. It tasted as we expected from past visits and we were happy with it. We waited for our second round of drinks, not quite the extended wait from the first time. My husband had to ask for our chili. The chili should have only needed heating up, so there was no reason for the wait time. And then it arrived. The meat chunks were gigantic. On the one hand, we were disappointed about the amount of meat, but I could barely fit some of it into my mouth because they seemed to not have cut it. Our entrees were finally served and they were less than average taste from our past experiences with Lonesome Dove. The brussel sprouts were sickeningly sweet. They had been drowned in balsamic. There was no crisp, but almost more of a balsamic soup. My fish barely tasted like anything at all. We waited for our third round of drinks. We did NOT order desserts. Who knows, we might still be there three days later. This is not to say that I won't give them another chance, but I may go back to the Fort Worth location first. It's shameful to spend hundreds of your hard-earned dollars on a subpar meal. The server's personality was the only saving grace.

    Everything was great! Gotta have a Willie. Garlic steak was fantastic as usual and don’t forget to as for a side of onion strings. Not on the menu as a side but they are happy to do it.

    This was an awesome and unique dining experience with great service. The amazing array of different types of meat combined with the deliciousness of their creative sides, like the burnt carrots with goat cheese that were simply a festival of flavors on your tongue. I highly recommend that you give it a try and not to be outdone was the craftmanship of the cocktails!!

    We expected a much more diverse menu. There were not that many game meat to choose from. Cost wasn’t justifiable. We might have as well gone to a statehouse. Service was extremely bad. They were busy attending a larger table. We had to wait for 15 min to get menus.

    George was our amazing server for girls reunion. Food was excellent and drinks by Jeremy were delicious. It was very cold by the restaurant bar where we waited for the rest of the party to show up and throughout the rest of dinner.

    The food was wonderful. Started with the lobster hush puppies which were very good, need to try them for they are more of a lobster dip surrounded by a hush puppy, so crunchy on the outside and a pillow of goodness on the inside. We also got a side order of the brussel sprouts which were lightly crispy and very good flavor. For my main course I had the rabbit ravioli, which was in a cream style sauce. Very tasty, the pasta was delicious and the filling tasted wonderful, pillows of goodness. We also got the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. The only suggestion we would make is to the waiter, he spoke toooooo fast, rattling off the dishes and you could not understand him well. We asked him to slow down, which he did. I think it is a habit for him.

    Menu sounds great but honestly it was very flat. I hate saying that but the value and flavor just isn’t there especially with so many excellent dining options in Austin. The service however was great the staff are obviously well trained.

    We had an amazing dinner at Lonesome Dove last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and the service incredible. George was our server and made the best recommendations, we followed all of them and was not disappointed! Merill helped us with the wine selection and the staff signed a personal anniversary card - sweet touch! We recommend this place highly and look forward to coming back soon!

    Probably overpriced, but food was extremely delicious. Drinks are also impressive. Only complaint is somewhat confusing menu and pricing was a tad excessive. The lobster and crab appetizers were good but definitely not worth the price.

    Absolutely incredible experience. Merrill (the manager) went out of his way to make our dining experience special and made us feel like such valued guest. Cannot recommend this place more, you must visit if your in Austin. Huge thank you to the staff and to Merrill. We will be back again!
