Loondocks - Appleby Village Burlington
Great food. Would like to see more mid priced options.
A hidden gem of a restaurant. A smaller menu with great choices. Everything we had was delicious.
The story is in the ratings. We found prices very high relative to other criteria as indicated.
Food was fabulous. Everything (except the cranberry bread) is made in house. My friend and I shared the Halibut cakes (nice little kick to them) the pasta special (very tender, rich ravioli) and the cranberry sorbet. Half price wine on Thursday made it an exceptional reasonable evening out. Our server was attentive and delightful. Apparently they are closing in a couple of weeks to up their game on the décor, which currently doesn't do the food justice! Can wait to go back after the reno.
Was a most enjoyable meal, start to finish. Cindy, our server, was excellent!!
The food was amazing & the presentation outstanding. Our server was top-notch. We'll definitely be going back, this coming weekend actually!
Very enjoyable — good food and service.
The food was very good, the service was efficient and friendly and we were very happy with choosing this restaurant.
Food value was good with the Taste of Burlington $35 for appetizer, entree and dessert. 2 of the 4 of us got the chorizo vegetable soup - not much chorizo at all. Caesar salad was ok. We all had the attic chat and that was good. Dessert: 2 of the 4 ordered the sherbet which was good; however the other 2 had the double chocolate cheesecake which was a disappointment as it was a very small portion that turned out to be a good thing as it didn’t taste very good. The service could have been more prompt and personable throughout our experience. Two of us ordered tea (not prompted by the server) and then she did not ask the other two people, just walked away. Also we had a bottle of wine while another in about party had a glass of wine. We were never asked if we’d care for another drink. Wouldn’t hurry back.
Excellent food. Warm and helpful staff. Really enjoyed the evening
Food was outstanding. Presentation was great. Nice atmosphere.
Great service, not rushed. Most importantly the food was fabulous. I especially loved the saffron soup.
We enjoyed our first visit and will certainly return. Excellent food, service, ambience and value.
Duck Wellington was marginal - flaked duck
gnocchi were great
service was friendly
This was my third time at Loondocks. (2 lunches and one dinner) The food and service are amazing. (try a slice of cheesecake!) It's too bad they are hidden away in a plaza, as it may keep people from trying it. Because of the quality of the food, I rate this as high end dining.
Wonderful food, much of it quite unique, served by friendly people who seem to love what they do. The “Taste of Burlington” dinner experience was incredible value.
I am so thankful for The Taste of Burlington as it is a great opportunity to try new restaurants in Burlington. I had not heard of Loon Docks until I searched it on the website for Taste.
We are so glad we went. My husband and I ate there Friday night. I love how the tables are not elbow to elbow. The food not only looked gorgeous but was not pretentious and felt very comforting. We were so full. Great value for the food. Service was great. I have already recommended it and we will be back. Thanks!
Server brought us the wrong apps then brought our dinner to the wrong table. Ambience was very mediocre for the price point. Expected more.
Delicious!!!! This is a great dinner spot for proper, organic, fresh ingredients and simple food. Everything is made from scratch including their pastas. Compliments are all to the chef!!!! Who is also the owner. It was a great meal, and we are glad we decided to go here last minute as our usual spot was fully booked. This definitely is added to our list of favorite restaurants near by.
Excellent restaurant! Dined here tonight and have lunched here may times. Dinner tonight was the daily soup (tomato - delicious) and goat cheese and sundried tomato stuffed chicken breast - sublime! and the halibut for my dining partner. Great meal, huge portions, so sadly no room for dessert.
Excellent food and service. A great way to end Valentine's Day.
Very nice Valentine dinner. Ordered off the Valentine menu - very good value 5 course for $62
Salad was light and fresh; risotto was well prepared
My main course of Halibut was excellent
The food was fantastic - a cut above the rest. The wait staff were all very friendly. And for a Sunday brunch, the atmosphere was very cozy and quiet.
Lovely meal.....great service....highly recommend!
everything was perfect! have been a few times before and will be going back. Not rushed and so nice to support small business that has quality and you can tell take pride in their business.
Food is not very good and not a good value. Need bigger portions for dinner, steak is 40 dollars and size of a loony not a good value
We both had the halibut and it was amazing! Highly recommend!
We had tapas. All were delicious. I wish there were a few more choices for mains at lunch. I would go back.
Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. Very good quality and flavours. The service was attentive without being overwhelming. Wines are a little steep pricing wise, but the ability to have the bottle corked to bring home helps a little. We would all return.
My wife and I like to try new places so we gave Loondocks a try. Older crowd there makes for a quiet night. Food is well priced but the menu is lacking. We’ll try it again in the summer and see if things get better.
Diverse menu, excellent meals, great wine, great service. The location is floor to ceiling glass on 2 sides and it is too cold to be comfortable. We had wear our coats.
Amazing vegan “fine dining” quality. Chef has done an amazing job. Food was presented beautifully and tasted incredible.
Great service and wonderful food. All at a very reasonable price.
We will be going back. :)
We went to Loondock's for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a Tuesday night so it was very quiet. My daughter is vegan and has food allergies, however they have a menu specific for Vegans as well as vegaterians so was not an issue. The food was delicious -- we all ordered something different and we were all highly satisfied with the presentation and the taste-- it was outstanding. Plus each of our meals came to the table hot - which was awesome! Our server, Luciano (sp?) was excellent -- very friendly, not too imposing/interruping our conversation - -gave us excellent recommendations. We will definitely come back.
We were very impressed with the food. I had Arctic Char while my wife had the filet and both meals were excellent
Fantastic meal tonight at Loondocks! Our table had Backed Brie and Halibut cakes to start, followed by the main dishes of Artic Char and the Filet Mignon. WOW! Excellent excellent excellent. Compliments to all the friendly staff! Check out this local gem!
The food here is outstanding as well as the service. They have a great vegetarian menu also as well as gluten free options
Great food, nice atmosphere, excellent service. I can recommend the duck wellington it was excellent.
My brother, sister in law, sister and I took my 90 plus year old parents there on Sunday for a celebration. Our waitress was amazing, the food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. My dad was thrilled with his steak frites! We will be going back!
Four of us enjoyed our recent dinner at Loondocks. We all ordered different menu items and each of us were very pleased with our choices. I have been to Londocks twice before for lunch and found the portions small for the price. This was not the case at dinner. Portions were generous and priced well. We will return.
