Loondocks - Appleby Village Burlington
We choose Loondocks originally because it was close to where we were at the time but were very pleased with the overall experience. Great service and fabulous food. We will definitly go again, probably try dinner next time and bring some friends with us.
We enjoyed a very nice anniversary dinner at Loondocks. It was a quiet evening with great service. The food was delicious with outstanding presentation!
We will definitely return!
Chicken Caesar was $17 at lunch. It consisted of a few pieces of lettuce, and half a chicken breast served on a side plate. For that much money a real rip off! I had high expectations but was very disappointed
Lovely restaurant with an outside and upstairs patio. The ambience is great and the food was delicious. We had one person with a food allergy and the staff were very clear that the item she was served did not have the allergy item and it had been prepared separately so there was no cross contamination. Well done!
was only given 7:45 reservation on open table but the place was empty.
Artic Char was amazing! My family had the gnocchi and duck Wellington and loved both. Our desserts were also fantastic!! I had the beat ever flourless gluten free chocolate cake (so light and fluffy) and my daughter loved the cookies and cream cheesecake.
Our waiter was wonderful and kind of the owner to pop by to ensure we enjoyed our meal.
Noticed on the way out that the upstairs, outdoor patio was hoping so must try this another time.
We sat on the rooftop patio on a beautiful evening. The mixologist made us wonderful cocktails and our appetizers and dinners were all delicious. The service was polite and efficient if a little slow. I would definitely go back here.
Great food, good value especially their half price wine bottles on Sunday. Good beer list. Children's menu was great as well, with a good sized portion.
We had a great time with great service.Food was excellent and the restaurant was very comfortable and clean. We will return.
Good food. Disappointed plastic straws are used so much.
take care of the Loon
Nice decor, lots of great dishes on their menu. This was my second time at this restaurant and the food and service are consistently very good.
I loved this place. It was chic without being pretentious. The wine and beverage menus were very creative. The food tasted amazing. I was told the pastas, desserts, sauces...were all made from scratch and you can tell. Amazing flavors. Exceptional service to. Very professional. Our server romanced the food. Knew we were in for a special occasion. Just all around great. If you are looking for an exceptional place to dine in Burlington that offers all around amazing food and service then this is the place. Great quality and the pricing is amazing considering the food is fresh and made from scratch. I have seen higher prices for the same or even cheaper products at chain restaurants. We will be back for sure.
We recently visited Loondocks for the very first time since its opening. The restaurant is spacious and has a welcome feel to it. We were warmly greeted as we entered and then shown a table where there was ample light for my low-vision family member. The dinners we ordered were beautifully presented and delicious. No detail was omitted by our attentive waitress. I would highly recommend this venue to all who appreciate fine dining.
Or meals were great - we both had the special - both in flavor and portion size. The service was prompt and friendly without being too intrusive. Prices are comparable to similar restaurants. Decor is simple and comfortable, and sound level is appropriate for easy table conversation. Overall good value. We will go there again.
We have dined at Loondocks many times at their original location in Port Carling and now a couple of times at their new location. We enjoy the outstanding food and fine but casual dining experience. The Gnocchi with Scallops is my favourite dish. Make sure you're hungry! It's filling. We would definitely recommend Loondocks.
My business associate and I had an enjoyable experience. The service was most welcoming, the ambiance pleasant and charming, and the background music agreeable. The food was great. We most enjoyed the appetizers - beet and goat cheese salad, the halibut cakes, and the gnocchi. Wow! The mains -arctic char and venison were equally as tasty. All the dishes were well presented. The team at Loondocks seems to engage all the senses in the dining experience - taste, smell, sight, touch, and hearing. Highly recommended!
The food was okay. I don’t think I will return anytime soon. Gnocchi was really heavy, halibut was underwhelming. Very pricey for quality of food. They are trying but way off the mark with tight tables and underwhelming food. What can I say. It was just okay.
Thankyou Loondocks for giving Burlington a restaurant that delivers everything top notch from the moment you enter the door.
We were celebrating our anniversary and our server Sean had our table set and ready knowing it was a celebration. Giving service of a well seasoned server he was gracious with his goal of making our experience so memorable.
We tried a variety of appetizers and our mains were the best meals we have had. The wine list was giving varieties of options to which Sean guided us to the best match with our entrees.
Planing our next visit as we both have to try all on their menu. We signed up to their Facebook and see that they are offering a special Tuesday evening menu! We’re booked!
Not only was the food gorgeous to look at...but so delicious as well. Service was spot on. All and all a very lovely evening! Will be back for sure!
Brand new to the neighborhood and they’ve bought what was previously a family diner. The new owners/managers and staff are excellent and very accommodating. Food is good; maybe slightly on the high side$. Husband had trout salad and it was nothing i couldn’t make at home. Wine list needs more ONTARIO selections. Bar area is cozy and great for a date, overall decor of dining area is decent enough; hopefully in time they will revamp and install booths to give more cozy feel and update colors to more modern. Privacy fence on patio with heating would be good , busy parking lot and lots of pedestrian traffic.
We were very pleased with the level of service we received for our party of 10 exotically since it just opened. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We dined on their opening weekend. Service was on the slow side but understandable as they had just opened. Food was tasty and plentiful.
As a huge fan of the Loondocks restaurant located in Muskoka, I was excited to learn that Chef/Owner Kevin and his team were opening a second Loondocks location in Burlington. And they did not disappoint! The menu is creative yet comfortable, and has something for everyone. The quality of food is outstanding, as I have come to expect from this restaurateur. The presentation of every dish was superb (prompted me to bring out my camera!). Staff were professional, friendly, and very attentive without being overt. They have kept the pricing reasonable and I came away, as always, with a feeling of good value for my money. Loondocks is the full dining experience, and consistently delivers on all fronts, which is the reason I have been a regular at LD Muskoka, and will definitely be back to LD Appleby Village. Good Luck Chef Kevin and team! You've got another winner!
The food and service was superb!
The ambience still needs some work however.
Its still very reminiscent of the previous restaurant.
Looking forward to see what they do with the outdoor space.
Will definitely be back :)
Food was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
The menu had a great selection without being overwhelming.
