   Very pleasant restaurant with good food and good service. We walked there from Chard across fields with spectacular views, which would presumably be available from at least some of the rooms windows if you were staying there. We were there at lunch time and it was very pleasant and quiet.

   The restaurant was fine. The food was good value and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice place to have a quiet lunch although it was busy for a week day but there was a special offer on. Choice of bar, conservatory or outside eating. We had booked the bar which was a good choice as it was much cooler on s very hot day Steak was fine although would have preferred sirloin. burgers were great. Over generous with the butter on the steak and the ploughmans so you could probably save some money there. Would definitely come again

   The food and ambience was great, apart from the table occupied near by, who had a guest that had a voice like a fog horn and could not help but listen to his over exuberant life story. The waitresses were attentive however it probably slipped her mind when serving the steaks, and may not have known the difference between med/rare to medium, so offered them to the table as steaks.

   Food good value for money, although no choice of teas. Service was very poor as we didn’t get anyone checking to see if we were ok or top up of hot water or more tea.

   Lovely welcome. We decided to sit outside and have our afternoon tea which was not a problem for them to organise. The food was beautifully arranged. Everything we had was truly delicious. The cakes were amazing. The scones were still warm with plenty of jam and cream. Lovely surroundings. Was very quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend and we plan to go back and experience again.

    The restaurant and the food was absolutely incredible and delicious. The staff at the hotel and restaurant Were really lovely and helpful and very polite. The only thing which I had a bit of an issue with was the room, it was very noisy walls were thin and you could hear everything from talking to snorey sleepers which didn’t help as I am not a heavy sleeper. Room felt a little cramped and small for me personally. Also water in the shower wasn’t hot I would say warm at best but apart from that people were lovely and huge fields for the doggos which is lovely

    Not the hotels fault, but there was a large table in the room on which 3 or 4 ladies were extremely loud, which meant unfortunately we were not able to hold sensible conversations. If it hadn't been for that the marks would have been higher.

    Delicious, well presented food. Warm and friendly staff. Great atmosphere. A definite place on my list of good places to eat. Chairs, a little uncomfortable. Parking a little difficult. No defined spaces, leading to inconsiderate drivers hogging more space than required.

    The staff were very polite and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel itself was hard to find but we found it thanks to some local residents. We were, however, disappointed with the food. We both had a lamb roast and although the vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were acceptable the lamb itself was very gristley and chewy and neither of us could eat it, not good value at all

    The food was great but for two Octogenarians, we need a smaller platter option. The one thing that ruined it for me was the price of a pint of Guinness £6.50 !

    If you want an atmosphere venue then this is it....the 'conservatory' is cold, very bleak, and homeless. Staff too brilliant for this evnue.

    Having eaten there a number of times the food is always excellent. The menu has 5 or 6 choices for each course which some people may find too little but this covers steak,pork or chicken plus one vegetarian choice. When visiting the west country we will book in for two nights just to enjoy the food on offer.

    The food was fantastic the service great . Staff on the bar very observant as to when we need drinks. Only one slight issue I order extra vegetables and it arrived about 5 minutes after my meal. But overall great place to eat and socialist.
