We’re the second generation of two Greek families that came to Canada to open some of Vancouver’s longest running restaurants.

Now, we’re taking everything we’ve learned from them to offer a brand new dining experience.

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
Loula’s is the Greek nostalgia of our upbringing infused with modern dining trends that have intrigued us. The atmosphere and cuisine are an homage to our namesake, a woman dear to our hearts who always leaves you in good spirits with a full stomach. Expect that overwhelmingly authentic Greek experience when you step through our doors—along with a few other things you won’t expect. You’ll just have to trust us.

WHERE ARE WE?
We’re located in the heart of Commercial drive, a spot we feel quite at home in. If you know anything about The Drive, you know it’s warm, vivacious and a little kooky.

Celebrated my birthday here with some friends and we had a lovely time! The food is delicious, as are the drinks. I think our server’s name was Nick, he was very nice and accommodating! :)

We called and asked if there will be live DJ and they said there would. But when we went there was no live music and the plates to smash had been out of stock for a month. Wish they could've informed us on it. But the food was excellent and vibe was still great

dosent get better then this, beautiful place amazing food (even id the food was rubbish I would still eat here for the atmosphere, decor, socializing + drinks... but the food is amongst the best food you can find in all of North America and beyond so you dont even need to worry about that!)

It was very overpriced. Our server told us it is traditional greek food made to share so we ordered the Chicken Souvlaki to start. This was $25 for two chicken kabob’s with 5 small pieces of chicken on each. Nothing else came with the meal. As someone who has been to Greece multiple times, this was definitely not traditional. We ended up not getting anything else and went somewhere else to eat as it was basically a child’s serving.

Pappardelle was extremely salty, seafood orzo didn’t have much lobster in it and not enough scallop/prawns for the price. Cheese appetizer and cocktails were good, waitress was good and nice atmosphere. But overall, overpriced and should have complained about the pappardelle. Probably won’t be back based on plates/entrees disappointing.

I made a reservation for two, arrived on time and had to wait over half an hour to be seated. After standing in the entrance the staff let us sit at the bar and gave us a small glass of bubbles. I think a compensation on our bill would have been fair for being seated at 8:50 to our 8:15 reservation

Had a terrible experience, we had three different servers attending to us. Someone only came to check in on us towards the end of our meal, we had to ask to get our water refilled. Other tables had constant services but not ours, the only table with less than 5 people. Terrible. Value for $ wasn’t that great either

Food was good! Service not so much :( appetizer came before our drinks, table next to us ordered after us but got their cocktails and appetizer before us (they had calamari and we had simple dip + pita, both party of 2). Main food didn’t come all together, rice came 10+ mins after even though ordered all together, we had ordered more pita with our mains but that came very last (after mains and rice, 15 mins after). We had to remind them of pita and rice. Did not get asked if I wanted a second drink till after meal was done (finished 1st drink before appy was done). Lots of confusion as to who was severing us, no introduction of server, server who’s name was on bill only started helping us half way through dining experience but no introduction. We had no idea who was expo, server or busser. We did end up getting 2 free shots without asking/complaining as an apology but I wasn’t drinking only my partner was (I ordered virgin drink). It was nice gesture but only 1 person could enjoy. We didn’t want to tip 18% but that was the lowest option, credit card machine had option to do their set % amount and chose own $ amount but awkward to get out calculator when server right there to tip lower. I’ve worked as a bartender & server for many years so I pick up on little things more, we were sat in the corner as a small party which was amazing for privacy but we felt forgotten based on where we were sitting. Unfortunately we wont be coming back or recommending to anyone. My partner has come here before with a bigger party and had way better service I think it was a mix of a few things that in turn we didn’t have a good experience. It was my partners birthday dinner so we were a bit disappointed. It would of been nice to have server introductions/ hand off, apologies from our server herself for mistakes from kitchen/ bartender & just improvement on organization as a whole

Food was 11/10 - everything was super fresh and tasty! The ambience was great, such a beautiful restaurant! The service was OK... our waitress seemed bothered and unattentive with sass.... not necessary, and unfortunate as it was a birthday and everything else was great. Overall happy with the dining but the service could use some work.

The service at Loula's was amazing. Our waiter was very informative on what to order as well as helping us choose a wine. Although they were out of many of their bottles that day we received a discount on the one we ordered due to the inconvenience. The greek salad, saganaki, potatoes, and lamb chops were certainly the highlight of the meal. I would have preferred if the calamari came with a more traditional dip such as tzatziki rather than a chipotle aioli. Unfortunately the grilled octopus lacked flavour. At the end we were able to smash plates and they even wrote happy birthday on mine. Overall our group had a great time at Loula's taverna and will be returning.

My third visit in the past year. Brought a friend this time who was visiting from Los Angeles. The food and service were outstanding. The staff are warm and incredibly thoughtful. I highly recommend visiting in Sunday and Monday evenings when its slightly less busy. Btw, Mondays are all day happy hour 😊

Food and ambiance was amazing. We ordered the tzatziki dip with pita bread and it was really good, we ended up saving the dip to eat with the rest of our food. We also ordered the broccolini and even if your not the biggest fan of vegetables, i promise you will love this. The seafood orzo was AMAZING, the flavours and tenderness of the prawns and scallops really made this dish stand out. I will say the dining experience was very loud for a saturday at 7pm, it was very difficult to talk to my date as well as our waiter.

Overpriced Greek food experience. Rice was all soggy and wet - definitely not the regular type of Greek food experience where everything comes in a platter. You have to pay $15-$20 for EaCh small portion of rice, potatoes, salad, olives, and you need to pay $30 for 2 skewers of meat. They were generous with their pita breads though!
