Lucca Kitchen & Cocktails
Had brunch . Huevos Rancheros special was tasty but suffered in complexity and presentation. This would be 3.5 stars. I gave 4 to be nice
Overall, it really wasn't great. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and wanted to get a drink at the bar. No one came over to serve us. The girl behind the bar was stocking the fridge and we just stood there. Then we decided to just go to our table. Our server was great! Really friendly and was really enjoyable but the food was sub-par. I was pretty unimpressed with everything that came out. I had heard good things about Lucca, but we won't be going back.
Food and service were great. But it's a pricey proposition to have a drink at the bar before dinner. A simple scotch was a very short pour for something like $12. Better choice is to have a draft beer or a bottle of wine with the meal.
My osso Bucco was great!
This was our first visit to Lucca Kitchen & Cocktails. Our daughter is a vegetarian and we heard that Lucca's had a good selection of vegetarian entrees. We were not disappointed. My daughter order the Farmington with zucchini noodles and vegan meatballs. She loved it!
My wife and the fish fry special and I had the pecan encrusted salmon special. Both were excellent! The fish was flaky with a crispy coating. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Compliments to Chef Dennis!
The staff is very friendly. Our server, Amy, was attentive and responsive.
We definitely be going back.
The seafood bisque was to die for! All of the food was awesome and we will definitely be going back. Loved the classic feel of the restaurant with all of the wood work and tin ceiling.
Lucca has a neighborhood feel. Servers friendly, menu simple and approachable, meals fresh and prepared well.
Suggestion: fill up one seating area completely before you go to the second space.
Generate more excitement and appeal.
Very good and service , nice list of specials
Bartender Casey was awesome and made our nite. Some if the best martinis I've had in long time. Girls nite out was a success!
Overall - good but not great. We sat at a table near the door so every time it opened we had a good 5 minutes of extreme cold air. We also tried ordering chicken but they were out so instead two people ordered steak; however the steaks were both undercooked. One was returned and it came back still undercooked (we wanted medium and it was rare to medium rare).
However, the server was super friendly and the other food we had was very good.
Food was excellent. Prices were great. Atmosphere very welcoming. Owner came over to ask how our meal was.
Food was great, cocktails were not, service a little slow..
The pub steak special was amazing! My friend who has food intolerances was able to have an awesome salmon meal that met all of her requirements. We never enjoyed dessert! Great evening!
Food was mediocre- like being at a chain restaurant. I was excited to try it based on how much we love the Victor location. A different menu but I was expecting the same or better in terms of quality. Need to improve on food and staff.
Great food at a great price. Will definitely go back, several times.
We really liked Lucca. Atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Nice menu, food was good. The ceasar salad could have used a little more dressing and the spaghetti and meatballs could have used more sauce. Overall it was good. We will come back.
The food orders were mixed up. Two of four were overcooked. The two were taken back to the kitchen. One came back cooked properly but with the wrong vegetables. One came back raw. For all of the the bill before tip was $150. Wont go back!
We had been for brunch before and wanted to try the dinner menu. I saw the lasagna rollatini on Instagram and needed to try and was as good as it looked. I was even happier to find out it had goat cheese filling. I lived in this neighborhood for much of my life so am happy to come back. Everything was perfect!
This restaurant is charming, comfortable and cozy. Our server was friendly, polite and efficient. All 4 diners at our table chose a different dish from the menu and all of us were very pleased. My Winstead pasta was creamy and flavorful. The portions were generous without being over the top. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu!
Food was very good. A nice selection of specials.
But it took a long time to arrive and our waiter never returned asking if we wanted another drink.
We really loved our evening out at Lucca! The service was wonderful! We sat at the bar and had a lovely time with the great bar staff and our waiter was excellent too! The food was very good. We will definitely be back!
Friendly service and many specials in addition to menu. Started out quiet but got very noisy. Food was tasty and plentiful.
The salmon with maple glaze was excellent. I was disappointed in the kale salad, the greens were limp. Would have preferred them be "out" of the salad before serving something limp, but I did like that the salad had baby kale vs the larger, tougher leaves. The fried gnocchi my friend's dish were a bit heavy to be given so many pieces. I might suggest a light tomato sauce over them? Excellent steak, done perfectly. The owner came out to greet us to ensure all was ok. I liked that, though, admittedly, I did not mention these above issues because I have a hard time being critical to people who work hard. Value was good. Quite loud, needs some sound buffers on the ceiling. Nice remodel job, too.
Our first time at Lucca. We were seated at the back and there was a loud group celebrating a birthday at the front who pretty much dominated out dinner. They were loud enough that we sometimes had trouble hearing each other. Unfortunately that is what I remember of our meal. I was seated facing the back wall and felt like I was in the corner - there was nothing c comforting or inviting or attractive to look at - and those guys kept yelling and laughing. It was not a good first impression.
We cannot wait to get back there! Had a great evening.
We typically go to Lucca for a late dinner ... anywhere from 8:30 to 9:00.
Service has always been very good. Try to sit in the back room during cold weather because the main entrance is adjacent to the front dining room and you’ll get cold blasts from patrons entering and exiting.
I’ve only had the spaghetti with meatballs and it is phenomenal. My wife is vegan and always has been able to have an enjoyable dinner.
I have friends that have gone on our recommendation and ordered the specials only to be very disappointed. So I’d stick to the menu items.
Drink prices are a little high too.
Before the theater
I would recommend it for the food, but it was way too loud for us to enjoy a nice night out together since the noise from the bar was overpowering. Also, we generally don't like restaurants that are also bars and have a TV on as well--Lucca's had two.
the food was quite good and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent
The waiter tried too hard to pretend to be friendly. He did not know the menu very well. The food was alright, but not special, as I had hoped. It was overpriced.
Food was excellent.
Thursday night at 6:30 shouldn't be a time to run out of items and not have garlic.
I avoid garlic, but isn't it a staple of cooking? How can you not have it?
staff was accommodating.
Lighting a bit harsh.
I requested a table in a quiet area and arrived to find out that we were seated in one of the two side rooms they have. That was great, but then we were told a large party would arrive within an hour. Within an hour or less, TWO large parties were in the room. The acoustics aren't great and after another 20 minutes my friend and I could barely hear each other. It wasn't helped by
music being piped into the room that was at a volume louder than it should have been. The main course was just okay. The desserts were fantastic. Not sure I'll return because usually when I go to a restaurant it's to spend time talking to friends and I don't want to compete with others in the room. Once when I made reservations at a local restaurant, they said they had a table but 'warned' me that a large party would also be in the room. I appreciate that kind of 'heads up' so I can choose what to do.
First time there and the food was a hit. Bar must have been backed up because it did take a while to get our second drink to the table. Great all around. Wish they had had cannoli on the menu for dessert but what we opted for was also good.
Limited menu but enough specials to make up for that. Very noisy and limited parking. I had a fish fry that was exceptional. My wife had a scampi special that was also very good. Get a seat along the outside wall, less traffic.
VERY loud in the back room, impossible to have a conversation or communicate with our server. They were out of several components on the menu. Shrimp was so overcooked you couldn’t chew it and the seasonal veggies with risotto consisted of peas and two mushrooms. Antipasti board was very nice. Spaghetti and meatballs was good.
Lucca was very accommodating! One member of our party has severe food allergies; another is vegan. They didn’t bat an eye, took the food allergies very seriously, and all of us enjoyed a great meal.
Enjoyed what we had but a limited menu
Service was good. Food was good but the pasta was overcooked.
Wonderful food, great service, and terrific staff!
Had some problems getting a Manhattan that was to our taste
Each bartender had a different way of making them
The arancini and risotto with shrimp was amazing. The service was superb. We had great seasonal cocktails and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We would definitely go there again.
