Lucia - Toronto
Quaint little place for some good food.
I admit we were a little disappointed with our experience. Nice ambiance and the wait staff were very attentive. The portions of food were quite small and we found that it was a little expensive for what we got. Scallops were under cooked. We were charged for someone else's beverages and now have to go back to get a refund or use it in our next visit which won't be in the near future.
Lucia was blurry good l, my main was the highlight (cavatelli). Would have loved some other dessert options but we will be back. Great service, super friendly and love supporting the local places in our neighborhood.
Great food and cute ambiance - perfect for a date with your boo or the girls.
For starters, the bread and steak tartar were good, but the scallops were undercooked and lukewarm. For maincourses the turbot was undercooked and lukewarm as well and the sauce was gluey, but the unidentified dish that the waitress highly recommended to my husband (upscale streetfood) was disgusting. The wine she recommended was good but the small 5 oz glass was grossly overpriced. When the waitress asked about our meal, my husband said his dinner was "just ok". She promptly brought us the bill, did not speak to us again and did not even bother to bring us our coats when we left. We have never ever had such a rude server experience!
Fantastic little place, a restaurant for authentic Italian cuisine. The service was amazing and the food was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. I would recommend to everyone
Steak was good and the fish undercooked. Staff was advised, but they didn’t really seem to care much. Decent spot, but wouldn’t go again
All four people in my party agreed that the food was magnificent, and one of us is a certified food snob. The service was friendly and personal. It's a small restaurant, and wasn't full at the time we were there, so I will be curious to see, when word gets around about this place, how noisy it will be when it is full. We will definitely go back; whoever is in that kitchen is an artist. That applies to desserts as well.
Love this place. A favorite for our family!! Recommend highly!
This is a great little Italian restaurant just east of the Junction. The food is a amazing and the staff are attentive. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful food, service and ambience. The noise level was a little high. They could reduce the music just a touch. Also be more generous with your glass of wine. :)
Wonderful, small, intimate resto with really good food.
Great neighbourhood eatery in The Junction. Cozy and unpretentious ambiance, friendly service and terrific food. The housemade fazzoletti mortadella along with the burrata and hazelnut tiramisu were standouts. We'll be back!
Dinner for four on a Saturday. The overall experience was fine but not outstanding. My guests and I enjoyed three different appetizers and 3 different mains. Two of us had the scallops which were quite good although the presentation was uninspired. They also were warm, but barely so. The dandelion salad had a nice dressing on it but was somewhat drowned in it. The sardines were fabulous - perfectly prepared and well plated. For mains we had the Fogo Island turbot. The portion size as small. One guest's meal was hot, the other not so. The special of the day, a sea bream was beautiful done, delicious, well spiced/favoured and well presented. I had the lamb ragu which was nice but lacked spice. The wine list covered the bases but higher priced that what should be expected at this point at Dupont and Symington. The service was friendly and efficient but there was no suggestion of cocktails before dinner. This restaurant has had a great start and should do well but it needs some polishing. for one - get rid of those cafe tables and replace with square tables or long tables European style - always a lovely way to meet new friends.
Great neighbourhood restaurant. Definitely would recommend and will visit again soon
Fantastic food and staff. I highly recommend this place for couples or small groups. Quiet atmosphere, nice lighting.
When we walked in, no one said hello. 3 Servers were on and they each looked at us and went back to what they were doing. We did not feel welcomed. The restaurant had only 2 tables seated and we asked to not have the table by the door. This was a another 5 mins of standing around to "see what they could do" the restaurant was basically empty.
The food was meh. The food was incredibly salty. We had over-salted sardines on cold tasteless grilled tomatoes. And the over-salted polenta was the only (very starchy) option if you didn't want red meat or dairy. The lamb special tasted like mint jelly. Maybe lamb flavoured but no real bits of meat to be found. We were hungry so we ate it all and did not complain. We just wanted to leave. We wished we'd opted for sushi instead.
The only good part was the OntariEau label. That made me smile.
Everything was great! The Ambiance and decor are great. A quaint little Italian Restaurant! The food is amazing! The server made some great recommendations and was also very personable. Highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant , service music and atmosphere was grand.
Food to salty and a bit pricey but will try it again.
Cozy neighbourhood spot with amazing flavours! Italian attitude towards local ingredients, including serving OntariEAU sparkling water. Went for NYE Prix Fixe. Everything was perfectly cooked and served. AmuseBouche to Dolci was 5 courses and glass of prosecco was $75. I was full, my partner was Japanese full. We were both impressed with everything, especially the pasta dish. Service was friendly and professional. Looking forward to going back, mouth watering already!
Lucia presents an innovative modern take on traditional Italian food. We thoroughly enjoyed the culinary adventure, from beautiful presentation, unique flavour pairings, and chic atmosphere. Thanks for making our New Year's Eve spectacular!
Quaint small neighborhood Italian gem that is casual with a small but unique menu. Good selection of wines by the glass. Small place so no group seating tables. Pistachio pesto stuffed pasta was excellent. Make reservations. Cioa.
These guys just get it. Perfect in every way. A beautiful night out.
This place is a real gem in the junction. Food was perfectly executed. Really surprised how noisy it got with the Saturday night patrons, but I am looking forward to coming back on a weekday evening to check out the vibe. Chef came out shave white truffle on someone's pasta and the aroma was so intoxicating that my mouth was watering even though I just finished my meal. I know what I'm getting on my next visit.
Excellent food & service! You can’t go wrong with this choice.
We had tried to reserve a 7:30pm table for Wed Nov 27, and Yelp indicated we had to book for either 7pm or 8 pm and we would only be able to dine for 2 hours.
The restaurant only had our table and one other table of 2, so what’s with the false table offerings and guidelines???
Lucia needs to work more closely with Yelp in the reservation aspected !
Otherwise we enjoyed our gnocchi, Fogo Islsnd Turbot and salad, though our friend a found their rib eye special too fatty. Nice space. Will come back but not by booking through Yelp
We had a lovely meal! Great non pretentious vibe. We’d definitely go back again!
A wonderful evening with old friends - everyone agreed the food was delicious and ambiance perfect - our server was friendly and timely without being intrusive - will definitely return!
We ordered one of the evening specials, and were not told that while most mains were under $30 that special (steak) was $60!
It's true we didn't ask but the server definitely needed to be more upfront. The steak was excellent but it did dampen our enthusiasm about the total value
I would highly recommend Lucia, the food was of extremely good quality, the chef really knows what he is doing in the kitchen. The care and quality of the waiting staff was superb - their attention to serving, recommending food, and knowledge of which wine to drink was above standard - a truly remarkable experience.
Great new restaurant!!! The carrot dish was superb.
Celebrating a birthday. They acknowledged with bringing a sparkler on the dessert which I didn’t expect!
Overall great evening!
Great new spot by the team from the Local Kitchen and Wine Bar. Great food. Friendly vibe. These guys are seasoned professionals.
Food was really good. Small spot so reserve. The waitress was very good.
Service was friendly although gap between finishing appetizer and being served the entrees was long enough that we finished our wine. That type of gap is always a red flag and when I see red I am not buying a 2nd bottle The appetizers were very good but the entrees arrived lukewarm on cold plates. The veggy mush that the flank steak sat on was room temp. Pasta was only just warm. Bill was north of $225 for 3 and for that there are better / more bang for your $ places. N.B. Conversation was hard. Learn sign language or learn to read lips as it is noisy even though it is small space
I went to dinner with a friend on Friday. Both of us checked out the menu and were both psyched for our reso. We arrived a little early (10 minutes) but fortunate that our table had just become available. Fantastic, we thought. The hostess sat us and gave us a wine menu and food menus. We asked her recommendation of a good red because we were looking ordering a bottle and went with it. After making the choice she asked, “2 glasses?” to which we thought she was asking if both of us would be drinking, we had made mention at the outset we were ordering a bottle. She arrived 5 minutes later with 2 glasses of wine. She apologized for the miscommunication and we didn’t sweat it, we decided we would order the bottle after having the glass with our appetizers. Our appetizers arrived - cured sardines and roasted grape tomatoes on toasted sourdough bread and this incredible dandelion salad, both were delicious! We finished our appetizers and wine and called our server over to order the bottle of wine and let her know we were stepping out for some air and that we would order our main course once we returned. We went outside and returned about 5 minutes later to find that they cleaned our table, re-set it and sat a couple at the table. My hat was in my seat - it didn’t take it with me outside. It was pushed aside and under another patrons coat we came to find. There were more apologies and again, fortunate that a couple had just paid their bill and were leaving. We at at the hostess stand while they finished up and awkwardly left - I’m sure they felt a little rushed after they caught wind that people were waiting for their table. We still ordered our mains, and enjoyed the bottle of wine. The mains were delicious, the gnocchi was cold but with all the issues already, we just sucked it up. We finished dinner with coffee and desert. The bill came and there was nothing discounted for the disappointing and disruptive service. Needless to say, super disappointed.
Food is on point - 8.5
Service - 6.5.
Noise - 1.0 - this space is small and seated maybe 20 people. But the noise was like you were at a sporting event. The music was incredibly loud, and people were literally yelling to hear each other. I sat at a small circular table with my girlfriend and had to lean right in to hear her. It was too much.
Funny situation....The table next to us went out for a smoke and told their server. While outside another server cleared their plates, reset the cutlery and sat another couple down. It was confusion when the other guests came back from outside to see their food and wine gone.
I have been to Lucia twice, once with friends and once alone, and I will return! It’s going to be my favourite neighbourhood place, for the exquisite food, the welcoming ambience and just really good service. I like sharing it with friends and am equally happy eating alone with a book.
Amazing food and wine! Nice ambiance. Great espresso.
Great place to have dinner without having to go right downtown. Staff was on point the whole night food was fabulous we will be back.
