At this time, indoor dining is closed. We are offering outdoor seated table service with a strict maximum of 4 guests per table.
We thank you in advance for choosing the Madison, and for heeding the bylaws in this new era.
Please note, we hold reservations for 15 minutes and we do enforce a 90 minute seating limit during peak times. All guests must wear a mask when not seated.

A little bit of our history...
The Madison started in 1983 when Dave and Isabel decided to open a small bar in the basement of 14 Madison Ave. Over the years we grew, and grew. Now we occupy 3 Victorian mansions with multiple bars and patios, all interconnected. Thanks to our unique style and labyrinthine layout, we are famous throughout the world.

The Maddy is always great. They are doing their best during Covid. The patios are heated. The food is great and the staff are always friendly. It is billed as a University hang out but it is so large you can always find a quiet spot.
Very good fish tacos really enjoyed them and the sangria as well. Good patio and heaters were helpful

I have went to the Madison Avenue Pub a few times now, and they have usually been good. The service we received on Monday November 9, 2020 was one of the worst pub experiences that I have ever had. There appeared to only be 1 server trying to service all the tables on the heated patio, she was very inattentive and did not have a great attitude. (Could possibly also just be overworked). We were a table of 4 and after a long initial wait, ordered some basic pub food along with a pitcher, 2 of us got the pub burger with poutine. The burger was alright, but the waitress gave us fries instead of poutine. We had to wait another long period of time just to get our waitress's attention and when we asked her about the poutine, she responded with "you did", and brings out cheese and gravy about 10 minutes later to create some kind of "DIY" poutine. We ordered one more rounds of drinks and everyone finished eating and yet again there was an extremely long wait to get the bill from the waitress. The entire evening was just extremely disorganized, and customer service just wasn't there. I'm sure this may be an odd one out, as the past few times we were there, the experience was usually decent.

Business has been very unpredictable with everything going on, which is why it seems we were caught short staffed. As for the server's attitude and the way the poutine error was handled; that is definitely not acceptable. I will follow up with the server, manager and cook from Monday night to rectify this issue. I had reserved a table for 6 at what I thought was a patio but when I got there it turned out to be inside.Some of the party had to sit at another table because we had one extra person. If I had understood that, I would have reserved a table for 8.
It is true..the rules keep changing all the time with covid, but it didn't feel safe to be inside with a lot of other diners nearby.Finally, i was charged extra for a service fee because I had brought a big party.
Hi Cathy, Thanks for the review. Yes - the rules are ever-changing. It's a full-time job trying to keep up! Ontario Government regulations state that we can seat 6 people per table. Bookings over 6 people automatically renders 2 (or more) tables, 6ft apart. This changes to 4 people on Nov. 14. We've had indoor dining closed since October - it's probable you were seated on our covered patio. I apologize for seating you in an area you did not enjoy. I hope you will visit again. Jess - GM

Food quality seem greatly improved. Fries hot and excellent also the quality and freshness of the ingredients in the BLT and burgers seemed quite good. Nice surprise.

Given the covid climate I would say they did a wonderful job. Not busy at all, especially for a Jays playoff game but not the fault of the bar at all. The staff was wonderful and super nice. I felt safe the whole time and hope they keep afloat until we return to normal

Food was good. Typical drinks available. Large space with not enough customers made the place seem so lonely. But considering the time we live in...

Came here with a party of 8 for a birthday celebration - the service was honestly outstanding. Food and drinks (cocktails!) were great too. I'd ABSOLUTELY come back next time I need to host a group. Thanks!

Having picnic tables outside by the street where we could park our bike made it a perfect place for our cycling club after a long hot ride. The service was very good. Thanks you for stocking the chocolate milk for the non-drinker.I liked having the tip put on the bill so that I didn't have to do any calculations.

I didn't have any food but they had some nice choices. Went there to watch Liverpool v. Arsenal. Very happy with the service and the choice of viewing spots. No complaints at all.

Collecting contact information was the main reason we joined OpenTable, as it is extremely user friendly, quick and efficient. We have been very strict on this. Much better experience than one back in 2018. Drinks are good, food is great, but our server Gabby was the best. Cheerful and upbeat, just what you need after not going to pubs in a long, long time. Kudos to her! The patio is beautiful, quiet and breezy!
