Open and serving 5 days a week!
The food was the worst. It seem like the cook was not there and who ever was filling in did not have a clue. For starters how do you mess up chicken wings? They were not done after requesting to have them well done. The menu said the wing had BBQ sauce, there was none.
The entrees got worse the pecan crusted fish was not cooked at all. Fish was placed on the plate with a liquid pecan stuff poured on it and some I don't know what brown stuff poured on top of that. There is no way to get a pecan crusted anything with some type of heat. Also my wife was asked how would she like her salmon done. It did not come back as requested.
I had been looking forward to this evening. SAD!!!
I was very excited about my first visit to MadLife Grill and after my experience there I have to say, sadly, that I couldn't have been more disappointed. Of their entree offerings on their menu, the poor server had to inform me that they had been "really busy" that day and the day before and they were "out" of those products. After the first two or three items I requested only for the server to tell me they were "out", I got to the point where I asked the server to tell me what they DID have so that I could know what was items were available for order. I ended up getting a veggie plate which was supposed to come with a "grain". Guess what? The waitress told me that they were "out" of the grain. So after being told that they were out I asked the server if she could just give me some cornbread with the veggie plate and she said she could do that. A few minutes later she returned and told me that the chef said that there would be a "$2 up-charge if I wanted to add the cornbread". OK... let me see if I've got this right, you're missing half the prime items on your entree menu and, on the item that I ordered, it is missing an item the menu says should come with it (a grain), so I just want to settle for some cornbread... AND YOUR MANAGEMENT WISDOM DETERMINES THAT YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR THAT? I ended up just subtracting one of the vegetable items from the veggie platter and replaced it with the cornbread I wanted. But I was doing all the work in this establishment just to get a meal, the management their seems to think that customers should be happy to take whatever the establishment wants to throw at'em. Let me make clear that the server was WONDERFUL and none of this was her fault. But the management is poor. A restaurant that runs out of food? And then management that wants to skimp on an unhappy customer over silly piece of cornbread? There are better, more dependable eating establishments in downtown Woodstock. I don't intend to return.
Everything was very nice. The balcony was the way to go because the service is way better there. The service on the main floor is not as good. REAL wine glasses in the music venue rather than plastic throw away cups would help the ambience tremendously. It felt like picnic/tailgating with plastic cups. The food & service were amazing, over the top. Entertainment was awesome. Balcony had very good service & you could have a conversation & much better there.
Our sever was great. She kept everything moving for the 6 of us because we had the ABBA show at 7pm.
Would definitely eat at MadLife Grill again😎
The food was GREAT! We went for the live music which was really fun. All the wait staff were fun and helpful. Service was good even though they were busy. I will definitely go back again and take friends with me.
MadLife kind of sends mixed messages: Food's great & priced like it. Appetizers of fried green tomatoes were a hit, fried mac & jack cheese balls slightly less so. Trout got raves. Burger was exceptionally good & delivered an honest medium rare. Add wine & craft beers and ticket came to about $150 for four before tip. Ambiance, decor, furnishings about what might be expected at an average neighborhood sports bar (without the TVs, if that makes sense.) Table setup a step or two up from that. A little surprised to find it was Biker night on the patio when we were there on Tuesday, but it didn't extend noticeably into the main dining room which was sparsely populated. Service was friendly, knowledgeable & efficient. Will certainly go back, would highly recommend for food & service. Dinner jackets & gowns not required...
Great environment. Good food. Brunch was limited tho- the only draw back.
Absolutely fantastic brunch items. A little pricey for what you get but very good. Would definitely recommend. We are going again.
Apps were excellent and dinner was very good. Service was outstanding.
Consistently good food and excellent service. Thanks, again!!!
We had a great time for my husband's 40th birthday. There was a small food hiccup but the manager and the server were on it and corrected the issue. Amazing service and staff! Have been there before and will continue going there. Thanks !
The food was OUTSTANDING! The brussel sprout appetizer and salmon entree are a MUST!!!!
It was great. When there for a show and ate first. Had the smoked wings and hot Turkey sandwich. Both were excellent.
We enjoyed a meal and a great out on the terrace. Both were very good. And to topp it off we enjoyed a hilarious evening of female comedians. It was a great show with lots of laughter and fun. Would highly recommend.
I love MadLife but was disappointed in the food this time. My friend’s chicken on her salad was dry and the farro wasn’t cooked. The green beans on the cheese plate were terrible.
The mahi mahi was pretty good as well as the Brussel sprouts.
I’m hoping this is as just a fluke and next time will be better.
Great food! Great drinks! Great music! Great venue! We love it here!
Madlife is not only a great restaurant but also a great music venue!! I’d recommend going to catch a performance and having a nice meal at the grill beforehand. It allows you to get better parking, and the food is great!! Lots of different options for a decent price, and the service was quick and friendly.
Great food, perfect place to eat before a concert!
Food choices and presentation were excellent as was the quality of food. The okra alone is worth coming back for, wow. Service was great, drinks were spot on. They sorta jammed 10 of us into two tables including eating on the dreaded corners and it was tight. But man o man it’s LOUD in here. First date , no, business, no group outing and such maybe this is ideal but with 10 of us you could hardly hear the person across from you. But overall food alone is worth a visit
Excellent restaurant and vent. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Great food, service, and the live music was very good as well! We look forward to returning.
My food wasn't great, but the service was. Cool atmosphere.
Love this place
The service was outstanding, food was incredible and pricing was within par. The noise level was a bit high, but nothing worth complaining about. Our first time there and will be returning.
Excellent food, wonderful staff and great service. A bit loud but that is to be expected. Will definitely go back!!
Our ladies group ate dinner before the movie. Food was absolutely delicious! Service was great!
The food and service was exceptional. However, parking is a challenge. They have valet and the lot was full. I drove around 15 mins looking for a space. Ended up parking 4 blocks away and walked down street with no street lights. Downtown Woodstock is very vibrant BUT they have to get a handle on ample parking that is safe. Won’t go back.
Chris was a fabulous waiter and we enjoyed our evening so very much!
Menu selections had limited appeal. Wait staff was cordial but not attentive. Pricing for most entree/dinners seemed high. Food was mediocre at best. Most likely will not return.
Sorry, but our experience was horrible. Got there at our reservation time, stood ignored for long time, finally caught a server to seat us ( by the kitchen and restroom doors), so loud couldn’t talk without shouting to each other. Once order was finally taken, we waited unreasonably long time when part of the order arrived 5 minutes before showtime, we asked that food be transferred to our table in the show venue. When all our orders finally arrived food was stone cold on tiny table with plastic ware for steaks. Barbecue sandwich order was a mishmash in a basket covered with French fries ang Cole slaw. Had to dig to find tiny bite of meat. I music venue room packed entirely too tight, I was embarrassed for my guests, Would not recommend.
Very nice, good food
The food was really good, and the concert was fantastic. The only problem is that during dinner we were seated right beside the patio door. There was a group performing out there and maybe 2 tables of patrons, but it hampered our meal sitting there. It was a blast of cold air every time the server went out there, and it actually made our food get cold! I would not eat in there again if they seated us next to that door. Our seats for the performance were excellent, and the server, both in the grill and the theater were excellent.
My wife and I were at the restaurant for the very first time and we were thoroughly impressed. The waitress was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; the menu had plenty of really interesting options and we loved our meal. We saw the show afterwards and it was equally enjoyable...what a fun evening!
Great wine selection, outstanding food, and the venue set up was extremely well thought out. This place goes out of their way to make customers satisfied. And respectful valet parking for only $3!
It was an interesting experience to say the least. Arrived with a reservation for new year and did not have a wait per se. however, asked to move our table and told we would get a round of drinks on the house. Later the waitress forgot to put our order in and then advised they were out of some items included in what we ordered, again offered free items. Food ultimately was fine but never got free items offered and no real follow up by staff management.
My dish was wrong for 2 timas. After the 1st time, it was unbelievable that they changed and brought it back wrong again
Really cool place to enjoy the night at. Had no issues. I do want to give a shoutout to the bouncers. They kept the riff raft out on NYE. Very professional and courteous. The ticket guy was very professional as well.
It was our first visit and we’ll be back very soon.
Food and service were both amazing! The Brussel Sprout appetizer was awesome! I highly recommend the scallop and asparagus risotto as well.
