Did not know we needed an ID. The only restaurant that required it in Montreal.
It was well worth going back to hotel to get
Fantastic! One of the best steaks we have ever had and the truffle mashed potatoes were unbelievable. We will definitely be back.
The reviews were misleading for us. I would not recommend this place. The location is nice but that’s about it. Service was basic.
Amazing food. Very nice staff especially Sabrina.
Service was slow and less than responsive at Maggie Oakes. The portion sizes were massive in the Prix Fixe selections, which was nice in terms of pricing and value, but went beyond the concept of "tasting". Not a fan of the markings on the wine glasses with the option of a "small" or "large" pour of wine. I'd be a maybe on recommending this place to a friend.
This restaurant had every opportunity to be excellent, but instead it was a solid 7/10. Not having the regular steak on the menu the night we dined there was disappointing, considering they age/cure/store their own meat in the dining room where you can see the coolers...
Despite that, we returned the next day for breakfast, and it was even more lackluster. Breakfast order for my husband was wrong, so we had to send it back and I ate alone. Toast was hard and cold. Just generally uninspired :( Which is sooo too bad, because the location is perfect, and the staff are very good and helpful and not too hover-ing!
Steak was sent back twice. Service. Good. Ambiance ok. We were richter next to the door
Great menu for Montreal a la table. We rsvp’d at a good time, service was slammed by 2 large groups when we were on dessert.
Great food and ambiance, service wasn’t there. Although the server was very nice and welcome, he was too busy and forget about us a few times.
The location is lovely. Right in the heart of Old Montreal. Not easy for parking or trying to get out of the area in a Saturday night but it’s to be expected.
Food was good. Portions are not that big but satisfying.
Will we return. Probably. Not the best place I’ve eaten in Montreal considering their prices are a bit expensive, but it was enjoyable.
If you want great food, great service, Maggie Oakes is the place
Service was great and the restaurant is in a nice location of the Old Port but the food wasn’t as great as expected
Waiter was amazing and the food too, the tartar was a little bland in taste but good quality.
No doubt, we will be back to Maggie Oaks! Go when you have time to spend and aren’t in a hurry to eat; my one criticism would be that the service is slow. Food is both beautiful and delicious, the table d’hôtel is great value… good cocktails, nice wine list, lovely setting.
The food was okay, with great service and a good ambiance. But like everything in Old Montreal, it's overpriced. For $100 a person, you can find way better quality in the less touristic areas. But the desserts were really good, and the restaurant is beautiful and clean. Overall we had a good time.
Great staff and service.
Maggie Oakes Brunch was amazing.
Love it! Definitely will come back there ! Food and ambiance is perfect
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Our server, Amille, was the absolute best
Lovely restaurant, great service, underwhelming breakfast.
Very nice cosy place with good food. I recommended it.
Was our first meal at Maggie Oakes and certainly will not be my last. Service was efficient and friendly “Gabriel” meal was delightful entrees of duo beet salad with goat cheese was fresh and super tasty and crispy nordique shrimp had some nice heat to it. Both were plated generously. Our mains consisted of GRILLED ATLANIC SALMON with celery-rave puré, rapini, Quebec wild berry gastrique, pea puré was pleasing arrived hot and portion was plentiful. The PAPPARDELLE WITH LOBSTER FROM NOVA SCOTIA sautéed Hochelaga oyster mushrooms, cognac bisque with tarragon, parmesan was enjoyed as well. I brought my dessert home but my husband shared his beautifully presented FRESH FRUIT CLAFOUTIS from Quebec with creamy marscapone and crumble with me. Was a pure fresh delight.
It was my first time at Maggie Oakes and I had a great time!
I cannot remember our waiters' name but he was delightful and understanding.
I would like to thank "E" the sommelier as he was experienced and made the evening splendid!
Great service and delicious food!
Great food atmosphere loved the steak , would definitely recommend
The waitress was very very very nice!
The food was awesome 😊
Just wanted to have another spot near the green decor but they were for large groups only 🙄
It was mine and my fiancée anniversary
We had the table d'hote menu. The food was excellent.
Service was good, oysters were excellent. My ribeye was too thin and not enough salt. They should have brought me finishing salt instead of a salt shaker.
The food is stunning.
If you want to eat a very good steak, you definitely have to go to Maggie Oakes.
Nourriture ordinaire, service faible. Belle vue sur la place Jacques Cartier
Our service was a guy with long hair. Haven’t had such a bad and slow service since a long time. We will not
Come back only before of the service /( food wine was ok. Location also , but he was so lame we had to remind him 6 times during dinner . When you leave 400 CAD for dinner the service should also fit
