Excellent food and perfect service for reasonable prices - a very pleasant surprise and experience in Vieux-Montréal, which is often a tourist trap! We strongly recommend this brasserie!
Great food and the server was really good . Met lots of great people. Great location. Sacha was really good.
Food was very good. service wasn't great. Our server was busy and didn't see her much. we had to get our own water pitcher to have something to drink when we were eating.
I went there with my girlfriend for the steaks but they ran out of the two cuts, ribsteaks and tbones, i would have liked to try and would have been in my budget.
It's not that anything was particularly bad about it, food was good, service was good, but it felt like we had just as good food other places around the city and for a lot cheaper.
TLDR: 2 hours later, finally getting my dinner at A&W.
Waited 1h30min for my food to come. When it came, I realized the food had sat under the kitchen heating lamp for an insanely inappropriate amount of time, to the point where my filet was carbonized and my husband’s halibut was turned into saw dust.
What a disappointment!
To put the cherry on top of the cake, the staff was extremely rude and amateurishly incompetent.
Don’t go there!
Excellent food. Vegetables were perfect along with the service.
We were quite disappointed with our meals at Maggie Oakes because we primarily selected the restaurant for it's outdoor seating and recommendation of our excellent tour guide earlier in the day. Of the three meals from our group, we were each disappointed. It was over-priced as well considering other restaurants nearby.
The outdoor seating at the plaza was fun though.
Terrible service , steak house that brought out a medium ordered steak overly well done after over an hour of waiting for it. Management was nice enough to comp dessert but after many restaurants in Montreal this was the worst one my wife and I have been too. I’ve never written a bad review so that should tell you a lot
The music although enjoyable was too loud for proper conversation. I would suggest to lower the volume.
A truly great dining experience. Steaks are superb and ambiance and service to match.
Was very dissapointed
Nice looking restaurant with lots of menu options. Food was okay, but too expensive compared to other, better restaurants in Old Montreal. Service was okay, but again not on par with other Old Montreal restaurants that are a little further away from the main tourist areas.
It was my first time at this restaurant.
Everthing went fine. Excellent service. Nice location.
It’s really to expensive! The food is good but nothing so special for these high prices
After an hour and a half of waiting no food for a family of four. The people who were sitting next to us who arrived after us had gotten their food. Once o got my ribs and mashed potatoes, they were cold! It took 20 minutes to get a refill on a soda. There were four guys across the restaurant screaming. Not okay. If they want my $, they better change. I will NEVER go back here again. The better part of my night was spent waiting for food. Do not come here, save yourself the headache.
The location was beautiful, the service was excellent as was the food. I would highly recommend anyone to eat there.
There was construction underway that was really annoying!!
Busy tourist restaurant, Mostly well executed simple dishes. All of the larger steaks are bone in and mine was about 1/2 bone, so save yourself some $$ and order the steak frites $26 (7oz) as it probably only has an oz or two leas than the 16 oz entrecôte ($60). Server was very helpful but it’s extremely busy and it was easily a 2 hour plus meal that should have been 1.5 hours tops given what we ordered
The restaurant was very busy, which was fine as it was a Friday night. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. Other tables left, and we did not receive our food for two hours. My husband’s meal was so terrible he sent it back. Mine was ok, but overall not a good experience for our last night in Montreal.
It was.. ok...
One of the best brunch of Montreal. You have the choice and the taste for a decent price
The place is really Nice, service is perfect and team really perfect 👌
But the food 😢 not testy at all. And We order the « plateau de viennoiserie » to share, it was all dry.
For a place like this one, We were really disappointed about the quality of food. It’s really sad because there is a lot of potential!
The restaurant ambiance was great and the food was delicious. The only thing was that I made a reservation for inside seating to be in an air conditioned placed and the air conditioning was not on.
The food here was quite good, but we ate inside and it was uncomfortably warm, which ruined the whole experience for us.
Great lunch date for my wife's birthday! I have several food intolerances and the we're glad to make adjustments for me, even redid my plate a second time because I wasn't specific. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere right in the heart of old Montreal.
Brunch très passable!
L’omelette était fade, les pommes de terre rissolées au menu ont été remplacées par des frites et 30 minutes d’attente pour recevoir son repas.
Nous aurions mieux fait d’aller chez Cora !
We had a delightful meal at this fine establishment. The food and service was superb. I would highly recommend it. Also, very convenient valet parking at the William Gray Hotel and cheap (at least by New York standards). C$12.
The steak tartare was drowned in mayo and pasta was very plain. We waited very long for our food.
We had a delicious meal at Maggie’s. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection!
My husband unfortunately developed a problem and couldn’t walk. The staff was super kind and helped me get him help.
The restaurant was noisy - very loud music - but again the staff was accommodating and found us a “quiet” corner.
We highly recommend this restaurant! Yum!
Music level was unnecessarily high, we asked the waiter to lower it and there was nothing he could do. We ordered cold cuts, the bread didn’t come at the same time; we asked our waiter and he said it wasn’t his problem... really?!! The cold cuts were mediocre at best, mostly very regular salami with pancetta that was mostly fat; the best thing on the plate were the pickles and the hot mustard, no kidding. It’s a tourist trap, don’t go there.
Regular but good brunch in Montreal. The place is in a very touristic spot. But inside it is quite elegant and the brunch is good. The service is fine too.
Do not go here. Tourist trap with bad steak. Three steaks, all wrongly cooked and hard to chew. Service was MIA or nonexistent. Had to send food back. No real vegetarian options just salads were offered.
The hostess was rude. We sat on the patio and we waited for 30 mins no one came to give us a menu or take our drink order, this is supposed to be a nice restaurant with great food and wine, was so disappointed. There was 2 tables around us and they all got up and left were there 40 mins and 0 service. 2 waitresses were standing and talking with the hostess so it's not like they were understaffed or overwhelmed. They just didn't care. We got up and left too. Some birthday reservations for my husband. Thumbs down!
Just ok for me. We were a group of 8 and were not told that we would get a “reduced group menu” which was a little disappointing.
Ambiance is nice. A little too “touristy” for my liking but I guess it’s to be expected considering the location.
So what is worse than waiting over 30 minutes for your entrees to be delivered? Waiting over 30 minutes and then having them delivered over cooked. A medium rare steak is warm RED center, not grey throughout. I point it out to the waiter, who picks it up then walks the steak thoughout the restaurant and then outside to the manager who then brings it back to the table and tells me, "its that way because its dry aged." Sorry but just because its dry aged doesn't mean that the steak should be gray throughout. I get it. They didn't want to pitch a piece of expensive meat. I didn't want to wait another 30+ minutes for them to try to get the next one right. I should have clued in when the first 3 items I tried to order we're out at 7:30 PM. Want a taste of Montreal? Go elsewhere. There are a lot better choices. Want a overpriced, overcooked steak that continues to age while it is walked around the restaurant? Give this place a try. You can leave disappointed too.
Lovely restaurant, we sat inside fully air conditioned. Food was excellent and super service.
Food and service was excellent. Had the porterhouse steak to share and was super delicious. Our waiter Mo was super helpful and Camille's wine selection was spot on. The cute manager on shift, Jason, was super welcoming and always made sure we had everything we need. Highly recommended restaurant.
