Really good food. It was quiet Monday night so the noise level was more than reasonable. Again it was quiet, so the service felt a little inattentive considering, but if we needed anything we could easy call someone over - it’s better then having people hover over you. I’d have no problem going back or recommending it.
Average food, forgetful waitstaff... even with an empty restaurant. Nice decor and layout.
The receptionist welcomed us very kindly, menu slightly above average but justified by the excellent quality of the food, we took a plate of seafood and a wagyu burger. Highly recommendable.

We read that they had live music and the menu looked pricey but good. (No music) The food tasted ok but I was sick later that night. (Lobster tagliatelle). Our waiter only barely serviced us, no water refills and had to ask three times for the check and finally a different waiter brought it. For the price, I would not recommend.

We reserved for 31 december and they cancel it 2 days before, saying that we didnt answer to they confirmation but they never send it

Went for New Year's, portions are small. Had reservations for 9pm had to ask for bread. When we got the bread it was hard and butter was frozen, wasn't able to spread on the bread. Had to pay my supper at 10:00 because something about there system. We still did not eat our last course. Then we get dessert, no coffee, no one asked if we were interested in having coffee. Fixed menu for New year's Eve not worth it.
Escogí este restaurante para cena de año nuevo con mi familia y por su ubicación en Old Port en Montreal, justo en donde se llevaría acabo el festejo de año nuevo. El restaurante tenía linda decoración sin embargo las porciones de la comida fueron muy pequeñas, parecían de degustación, nada que ver con lo que uno esperaría por tan alto precio. El menú era de 5 tiempos y sólo nos dieron 4. Aún no terminábamos y ya nos estaban cobrando, por todo lo anterior, no volvería ni lo recomiendo.
Came for NYE 2020. I was a bit on the fence because of all the hoops we had to jump through to secure our reservation. We were required to fill out a form and provide our credit card information before they would confirm the reservation. I didn’t like giving out my information like that but I did because I wanted to try the restaurant.
The overall experience was great. Dinner was delicious and the service was great. It wasn’t a mind blowing meal but the overall experience and service were top notch. I would recommend this restaurant.
Food was good but could have been a touch better, service/ waiter was excellent! So attentive to out needs and our young kids. But the sommelier was awful, she did not know her wines, pairings by the glass was cheap and just not good, and her attitude was just plain rude. Our waiter pretty much saved the situation and recommended us great drinks as an alternative.
Get a better sommelier if you want customers to purchase wine by the glass or by the bottle.
We had the early (5:30) seating on NYE. Our waiter, Eric, was wonderful. Very helpful with wine selections and other questions we had. Food was outstanding. Portions were a bit small for the money but at least we weren't miserably over served either. It was a great evening and we will go back.
The waiter had a good knowledge of wine and recommended a good champagne. The food was good and the ambiance was nice.
Déjeuner correct, menu réduit pour le temps des fêtes. Pas beaucoup de fruits sur les pancakes. Bacon vraiment trop dur, clairement précuit.
Went there because of them being featured on Bon Appetit show on where to get the best Poutine in Montréal.
They did not make it to first, but they were on the list for one of the best.
We got there about noon, and were surprised that they do not offer it for lunch, only dinner.
So ok, fair. We can accept that the gravy is not ready etc...They have fries on the menu with other items, so I am assuming the fries are there.
So we decided to order the croque madame but without the egg and the bechamel sauce.
The waiter tried to place that order in, and he came back and said: sorry the sandwiches are pre-made with the sauce in them!
We asked again, to just make a ham and cheese sandwich....and side of fries!
He went and came back and nope! The kitchen told him that the sandwiches are premade, and he told us that the cook open one for him and showed him that they are already premade!
So....we walked out.
The place gives you the impression that it is high end, with actual chefs in the kitchen, but, based on the answer that they cannot make a simple ham and cheese sandwich on their own, it clearly is not.
They do have on display some amazing looking ribs and I would like to go back and try that. Maybe the chefs come to the restaurant only for dinner and not for lunch.
Their lunch menu did not have steaks or anything beyond what is pre-made, I guess!
So...hopefully I’ll try their dinner and will be able to give a better review!

1 heure d'attente entre l'entrée et le plat. La cuisine avait oublié "la suite", amis quand le serveur s'en est rendu compte, cela a encore duré presque une demi-heure. Très voire trop bruyant. Viande excellente, mais apéro "léger".

We were visiting Montreal and I made reservations at Maggie Oakes for our Christmas dinner. It was a dinner we will always remember but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. I was not aware when I booked the meal that the regular menu was not an option and that all that was being offered was the fixed menu. This was probably an over sight on my part. We decided there was something for everyone on the menu so we decided to stay . Without going into details about each course the food was mediocre . We felt the restaurant did not provide a special dinner , this was not fine dining , the portions were ridiculously small and the food was way overpriced . We left the restaurant feeling very disappointed and to be honest ripped off . Maybe the main menu is better.
Fancy restaurant with okay many and nice looking dishes but the food was kind of tasteless.
Good dinner, not exceptional. Prix fix Christmas dinner. Order got lost between 2-3rd course, 35 min wait. Water glasses not refilled. Most annoying thing was horrible pounding music. They need to decide if their establishment is a bar or a fine restaurant.
We chose the prix fixe dinner for Christmas. The restaurant was busy but service was friendly and rapid. Even with a limited menu the choices were varied and delicious. We'd go back again to order off the menu.

It is probably unfair to rate a restaurant on how they performed on Christmas Eve, but unluckily it is when we went to Maggie Oaks. None service or food were good. When seated we had to wait a lot to be attended (around 10 minutes), and even when our server came, we had to ask for some water. We selected a special holidays menu of 4 meals. They brought the first one, a Lobster Bisque, and forgot to bring the spoons and they didn't found one for a while, so the bisque was cold when we had it; It was tasteless also. Second meal for my wife was ravioli (also tasteless) and mine was foie gras (good). At this moment my wife realized every table had a bread basket so we asked for it; It took them a while for getting it. For the third meal it took them 30 minutes to bring it! We weren't in a rush so didn't say anything, but in any standard it was absurd. I had fried scallops (acceptable) and the only truly remarkable of the night was the filet mignon my wife had: really outstanding and perfectly cooked. Dessert was awful. I won't repeat it obviously nor recommended it
Lugar con una serie de menús de 4 pasos previamente definidos, lo cual supone una buena parte del servicio ya adelantado (platos “marcados” lo cual debería acelerar el servicio. Lamentablemente no fue nuestro caso. Si bien ordenamos dos de esos menús, la cena tuvo un demora de aproximadamente 2 horas en su totalidad. El mozo actuó de forma correcta y atenta, haciendo lo posible para que las mesas que tenía a su cargo esperaran sus ordenes sin mayores reclamos. Los platos fueron correctos, el ambiente agradable aunque demasiado oscuro el salón. Para compensar la demora, las bebidas no fueron cobradas.
The food was good, unfortunately it took 3.30 hours to eat our meal. We took the Christmas menu and it took almost 1H between each plate, a bit disappointing for the price we paid

Xmas eve dinner. Our reservations were at 8 they left me a message saying we'd need to leave by 10 as they were expecting a 2nd service. When we got there, our server advised us that they were experiencing big delays with delivering the food which to me I have no problem with. I did mention though that we'd be staying more than the 2 hours anticipated due to their delays. I wanted a sancerre but she kept saying she can't give me any wines from their regular menue and i had to choose from their holiday menu. The 2 wines she proposed, i tried and did not like at all. The gravlax had the texture of a croquette more than a smoked salmon and lacked taste. We waited about 1 hour for our main course during which time, we had the experience of one woman being startled by a mouse in the restaurant. We were all nervous wondering when and where this mouse will show up again. We weren't able to appreciate our evening knowing that this mmouse was lurking around. The 2 people we spoke to said there's nothing they could do about it. Overall, we were not impressed and will definitely not going back there again. Total disorganization from start to finish which showed lack of professionalism on all kevels.
Très long comme service. Nous avons pris le menu des fetes. Attente interminable entre les plats. Notre bougie narretais pas de séteindre et leau a été rempli une seule fois quand nous avions fini le dessert. Chere poru des petites portions

Good wait staff, but the kitchen was "in the weeds" all night. We understood that it was a holiday meal (and therefore a busy night), but considering the elevated prices, the food was mediocre (overcooked foie gras, lobster bisque with no lobster meat, the steak was very good, however). Our two kids were starving by the time the food arrived. Considering that many items required no or little preparation (the soup, the salad, the desserts) don't really understand the long wait times.
Malheureusement, une équipe dépassée en cuisine a lamentablement échoué dans l’exécution avec des attentes interminables. L’équipe de service à fait son possible pour rattraper les failles, mais en vain. Le moral des troupes était affecté et certains dont La sommelière le laissait transparaître plus que d’autres. Le professionnalisme de la MD, mérite toutefois mention honorable. Mathilde nous a convaincu de leur donner une 2e chance. Une mauvaise soirée, ça peut arriver, même la veille de Noël.
Very disappointed in the service and the food. Considering the price of the food, you would expect much better food and better service. The waiter was not attentive; I had to ask for more water multiple times and get his attention so that we can order our food. It is a typical overpriced hotel restaurant. Would not go back and would not recommend.
The beef tenderloin was amazing. The seabass was overcooked and flavourless.
The veggies were overcooked and underwhelming.
