On the North Shore above Boston, and frankly in Boston itself, there are precious few Asian restaurants that offer anything other than very pedestrian fare. Mai Thai is the exception to that rule. The food is complex, the sauces not overpowering, and the service and presentation outstanding. Not a large seating area, but ample bar space and a nice feel. Looking forward to returning soon.

First time there, while the food was good and the service very good, the actual menu was very diffident than what was shown on their website. The two choices I liked best, and main reason made a reservation, are no longer on the menu. They should make certain their website more accurately reflects the current menu

Our experience was quite disappointing. One thing we noticed right away was the smell. I think they smoke some of their drinks. Oddly it smells more like incense than what you smell in a good whisky bar. Not all that pleasant. Decor was fine. Nothing amazing. The food is mediocre at best. The prices are not aligned with the quality. We shared a roasted duck spring roll as an appetizer. It was good, but nothing special and you had to look hard to find the duck. The accompanying sauce was the best part. Our entrees were another story. I had the “lazy cow”. It was smothered in a sauce that was so sweet I couldn’t eat it. The “crispy” beef was no longer crispy and it was poorly executed. My wife and daughter had a different beef dish. The meat was so salty it ruined the dish. The dishes do not come with rice or noodles. These were a la carte. We got the garlic noodles and the fried rice. Both were expensive, lacked flavor and meager in size. It was over 20 minutes before our server came back to check. We expressed our disappointment and it was clear that our plates were less than half eaten. He asked if we wanted to order something else but at this point we had already decided to get a pizza on the way home. He then asked if we wanted to take the food home. Seriously? He brought the bill in a fancy box. No concessions in the bill for bad food. One and done on this one.

The waitstaff and front desk management were incredibly professional,polite and pleasant. The food was amazing, we had the special sirloin, lazy lobster, egg & scallion rice, and Peking duck egg rolls.

This is the second summer I have visited Marblehead and the second time coming to Mai Tai Lounge. We love it there! The restaurant is very modern and the food is amazing! Today I had the Sea Bass and Mango Sticky Rice. Both dishes were exceptional. Henry and his team are so welcoming. We’ll be back during our next visits, no question.

Excellent food, a bit expensive. Really appreciated the service: the two of us ordered 3 small plates, which were served one by one with tthe next brought only after the plate was empty. Allowed us a pleasant and unhurried meal. We will be back.

Great customer service. We had fried shrimp, lobster Rangoon. and a traditional Mai Tai. The shrimp was lightly battered and very crispy. We enjoyed our brief bite to eat and would stop in again if in the area.

We got a bunch of small plates and Lobster Pad Thai. Everything was great. Service was a little slow that was only down part, but not sure if short staffed or what issue was. Everything was great besides that. Mai Tai drinks were excellent.

It was our first time there, and we had a really great time. The food was excellent and it was fun to try a lot of different things. The drinks were some of the best I’ve ever had. The smoke bubble martinis are awesome. I do feel things are a bit overpriced, but overall we are happy we went. Our bill was $400 for four people and only three of us drank. My only suggestion would be that if something says “market price” on the menu to ask with that price is before you order it. We were slightly surprised when the bill came. It’s definitely a place worth revisiting for a special night out.

Wonderful flavors ... Scallops & Pad Thai was excellent. Server was entertaining and efficient. Music was a bit on the loud side but they reduced the volume at our request.

Nice little place, service is excellent. We ordered a few different small plates and thy did not disappoint. The Lobster Rangoon was delicious, the grilled Octupus with the arugula salad was just the perfect combo. For us, the Spicy Pot Stickers stole the show! Steamed with a hint of Siracha coupled with the fresh green apple salad is a must. For dinner, the grilled rack of lamb was juicy and tender. Overall, go and try the Mai Tai lounge, the food is great and the drinks will not disappoint!!
