   The view of the lake was great. The food…not so much. I ordered the burger…asked specifically for it to be well done. It came out with some pink, they did correct it, the waitress was pleasant enough. The burger even after being cooked was quite greasy and not good.

   Was there for lunch which was good but have been there for dinner a few times which have been excellent. I had the chicken salad on focaccia and it was a little bland and could have had more chicken. Would still recommend and will go back. The overall venue is wonderful - the main space, outside areas, downstairs, back private room and cool bar. So glad to have another great restaurant in Penn Yan!

   Overworked, distracted servers, didn’t do basic server stuff like ask about more drinks. Place was out of many items. Everything took a very long time. All this even though place was mostly empty. Everyone seemed harried and annoyed and rude. Food was fine. Location was gorgeous but it’s strange that they don’t have umbrellas or shade for outside tables when it gets very hot in summer. Full sun when it’s in the high 80s is intense and awkward for an upscale dinner experience. Really kind of disappointing overall, had wanted this to be special for our group. We don’t have a lot of money and saved up for this event.

   The food menu provided was a brunch menu as they apparently do not provide regular menu on Sunday. So it was a big let down as there was nothing like such information available at booking time and we drove long distance to enjoy food. We were, however allowed to seat outside with a complete lake view, which was fantastic. The service was very courteous and nice.

    A gem in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. Views of Keuka Lake are beautiful and the food and drinks are surprisingly cutting edge and inventive to satisfy any foodie.

    Great location, food was very good. Gnocchi was overdone and mushy but everything else was done nicely. This included NY strip steak, smash burger, baked haddock. Grill focaccia appetizer was A+. Best part was our server Heather. Fun, engaging, helpful and so welcoming - outstanding. After dinner the downstairs patio & bar are ideal lake-side spots for fun.

    The quality and selection of the food was poor for the amount of money charged. Also, it was advertised with live music and there was not any live performances. Unfortunately, we will not be making this an annual event and hope our honest feedback is received as helpful.

    Mothers Day Brunch was disappointing. Paid $32 each for what I felt should have been $12.95 at most. Chicken was dry and other breakfast items basic scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. Very few choices for $32 a plate. Advertising live music and there wasn’t any. Also advertised mimosas but didn’t say they would be added $14. Total bill for 4 was $176. I could have made that meal for the cost of one- $32. Won’t go again.

    Main Deck is one of the highest rated places in the Penn Yan area, so we were excited to have dinner there. It was an abominable experience. We had reservations at 7:30. The young lady seating diners said that she was sorry but they weren't seating people with reservations at the time - which makes no sense. I said that. She then found a place for us to eat outside, but I had commented in my OpenTable request to eat inside. After this confusing interaction, she sat us in the dining room which had several open tables for 4 and several open two-tops. Made no sense. The waitress came to our table quickly, greeted us and said she'd be right back after she got some appetizers for another party. She returned more than 15 minutes later to take our drink order. Gave us our drinks about 25-30 minutes into our visit and took our food order. We ordered the combination board ($36), the beet salad ($14) and the 4-piece foccacia ($8). The "foccacia" that came out was a large board with 3 (not 4) small pieces of toasted baguette not focaccia at all. The combination board was said to have house-cured meats and several local cheeses along with appropriate accoutrements. Again, a large board came out with about 2 slices of each of 3 different meats and 3 small portions of cheese. The accoutrements were cold string beans and purple tortilla chips. Both the "focaccia" and combination boards were beyond a joke - terrible in every way, obviously put together by someone in the kitchen who had no idea what they were doing. And it took forever to get these. The beet salad had very little beet and a lot of salad, but at least was palatable. This place is, from front of the house, to wait staff, to kitchen a restaurant in obvious decline and should be avoided. It's particularly sad since the physical location is lovely and its reputation in the past was very good.

    There was one server and she worked very hard but it was too much. Food described on menus were missing elements and those cooked were not done correctly. Kitchen staff had real problems. I felt bad because I don’t think the business can find competent help. Owner? arrived at chatted with guests but could have jumped it to help. So disappointed. Great location! Hope it can improve.     Food was excellent, location and ambiance were lovely, staff were friendly and engaging. The menu selection was great. Service missed the mark. The first hurdle was our appetizer (and we were hungry for it!) which never came. Turns out they were out of it at the start of the evening. We didn't find out until our entrees arrived. That's a pre-opening staff briefing issue or a training issue; should have been easily avoidable. Next, one of our four entrees was wrong (trout, not salmon), which led to a major delay for one of our party. All four entrees were delicious (even the late one). There were several misses on the sides, which took a while to correct. The manager and wait staff separately promised different resolutions to make it right. I'm happy with what they did, but it felt disorganized to be promised two different mitigations. They were very short staffed the night we were there, which contributed to the suboptimal experience. Overall, with better staffing/training and perhaps some improved internal procedures, I have hope for this place. I will try it again next time I'm in the area. I would recommend it, with caveats.

    The food was excellent. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The salads were excellent. Carrot cake - excellent. Service was very good, especially when considering how busy it was. Cost was reasonable for the quality; $100each incl tip, cocktail, appetizer, main course, glass of wine, and dessert.

    We had a wonderfully tasty dinner. Loved the beautiful lake view from the dining room and the bar area. All staff members were friendly and attentive to our needs. Liked not feeling rushed and able to take our time and enjoy such a great restaurant.

    The food was more on the mediocre side however the main attraction for us was the lower level with live music post-dinner. Chill digs while enjoying delicious cocktails/beer and live music with a lake view!     Main Deck is located at the top of Keuka Lake and has lovely lakeside views especially if you’re there for dinner and can catch the sunset. The service was great (even with our server handling a large birthday party in the back - they were still very attentive) and the food was delicious. I ordered the grilled haddock which was fresh, flaky and tender and just an excellent dish. They also have a great wine menu and serve wines from top local wineries in like Dr. Konstantin Frank, Weis Vineyards, Forge Cellars and Heron Hill.

    We greatly enjoyed The Main Deck experience and food last season - from the host to the creative cocktails , food selection and ambiance. We came by this year for a birthday. When making reservations we made note of that on Open Table - our visit came and went without so much as a happy birthday comment. We came early to enjoy a cocktail on the deck only to find many tables and chairs chaotically arranged and stacked haphazardly - not inviting nor attractive . The cocktail specialties lacked the creativity and whimsy of last season ( the bartender did make a lovely drink) The menu selection was displayed in a small font , with little spacing and seemed an odd assortment of items-it appeared that most dishes that might have been - appropriate for a non red meat-eater contained bacon or ham- the waitstaff were polite but seemed to have a mish/ mash of roles - my daughters statement , “ it feels like it is run by high schoolers”. The food was ok but nothing special- it feels like there has been a major change from the bar , to the kitchen ,to those responsible for the environmental appearance - we won’t be back this season unless we hear of major changes. Sadly.

    We are local and welcome the dining experience at MD. Our family was visiting so we enjoyed dinner with them. The ambience is always lovely. We found this go round though that the food prep was a bit under par (and a bit stingy) for the price. Our waitress was lovely but seemed a bit stressed. We had to wait about 20 minutes for water and another 15 for drinks. Understand we are not in the season so supporting a restaurant like MD is not easy. However, better to be honest as if the bar isn’t raised when vacationers arrive it may hurt business.

    This was our first time here. We sat inside but still had a nice view of the lake. Ordered the pork belly app (sinfully good) the apple arugula salad (plentiful, but bland), the pork schnitzel and the seared scallops. They were on the small side , but very well-prepared and delicious. Recommend !

    This is basically a brand new fantastic place on Keuka Lake. It’s a complete remodel from foundation and of the old Top of the Lake locate right next to Hotels and shopping in Penn Yan. Indoor and outdoor bars and the lower level with fire tables right on the edge of the lake. Main floor had a great big dining with adjacent bar and outdoor covered decks. Food and service both beat our expectations and I had the best expressomartini I’ve had in a long time. Overall a great place offering a great experience and value often difficult to find on the finger lakes

    Main Deck appears at first glance to be a hip, cool place with amazing views; really cool bars; a hip vibe and live music. However, that's all you're gonna get with this place. Food was not good. Portions sizes were so small, my husband and I left hungry. Options for dessert were not desirable. Overall, the dining experience was one we would never do again. My husband ordered the Focaccia for an appetizer and there were about five tiny pieces of bread. I ordered the Mussels and the bowl was so huge for 8 small shells. Also, it was lukewarm and drowning in the sauce. Not good. We both ordered the gnocchi for dinner and again, the bowl was huge but the portion size was too small. There were more cherry tomatoes in the dish than gnocchi and frankly, it was not homemade. I've had better gnocchi out of a bag. Frozen. Would not come back. Waitress was delightful. Ambiance lovely. But we came to eat, not look at people and listen to music. One star for sure.
