Made a reservation through opentable for New Year’s Eve at 10pm. They called me at 530pm the 31st to tell me that there was a problem with the reservation system and they won’t seat us after 9pm and since we had 2 minors with us they wouldn’t be able to get us in at all. Unacceptable. I should have read the reviews before making the reservation.
Wasn’t a huge fan of this restaurant / bar. The food is just okay and the drinks are fine but the service was awful. We had a fantastic bartender who made us feel welcomed, but the wait staff forgot to bring our dinner. By the time they realized it, we had to leave. So we had to quickly eat our food and head out. Fortunately we had a fantastic bar tender who was beyond apologetic and saved the night. The night did have a set menu for New Years so it is possible there are better options on the standard menu, but I recommend just going for drinks. The bar is in a cool and conveniently located.
New "happening" place with interesting champagne pop concept. The drinks are very good, the food is normal. The service is honestly not good. Understandable it's crowded, but waiters seem to have a lot of arrogance in the way they talk to you. Been here twice and felt the same attitude. I got the same dish both times: the black cod with coconut milk. The first time was better than the second, as well as the presentation. Not sure if the chef changes weekday vs. weekend but it made a difference given I ordered the same thing twice on different occasions. I would possibly hesitate to go back unless absolutely necessary
Not the same as la champagnerie though. The experience was much memorable last year!
Really good, but only little thing is that portions are small, I would have preferred a little bit bigger portions
I will go back for the he ambiance and service but not the food.
The food tasted really good, fried gnocchi was incredible. But of course the portions were soo small! We wanted more. Not to mention there was a couple who sat down after us, ordered the same thing as us and still got their meals ways before we did. The server didn't apologize about it, and only said 'oh you didn't get your food yet?'. No apology or sympathy or anything. I would not recommend going here to any of my friends
Loved the Sabre of the Champaign bottle love the location. Huge selection of wines and bubbles
Bachelorette Party Dinner
Anniversaire
Everything was so nice. We truly enjoyed our time there.
Love Wednesdays at maison st paul, the new French themed Wednesdays are very authentic! Love the half off cava also. DJ Zo is great!
This is a great place to party and have a few drinks . Music is lively and atmosphere is great . I wouldn’t recommend the dinner service .
The chef was not flexible in accommodating dietary restrictions and there was no vegan option and a very limited vegetarian option .
The service was TERIBLE. We waited more than an hour for our entrees and had to ask for more water, which we only refilled once. There was a larger piece of hard plastic in my entree. No apology or offer to get me something different. Skip this restaurant and try something different. For paying more than $50/person we expected better.
I was recommended to this restaurant from a friend who went for her bachelorette party and I am so glad she did it was such a fun time!! It’s a total spot for all bachelorette parties when we were there, there was probably another 5 groups of bachelorette parties. We came in wearing wigs looking to have a fun time and we are leaving with all those fun memories. There was a great DJ playing, the bride gets to saber a bottle we purchased a bottle of champagne which was really fun and the food was delicious. There was 4 of us so we just ordered a bunch of different things and shared the plates. We ordered the filet and lobster poutine over fries which were HEAVEN, risotto which was delicious and then a broccoli salad which was we good but not great and then we had ordered burrata which we sent back it tasted like it had gone bad the waitress was very understanding and offered to replace it but by that time we just didn’t want anything so we had it taken off the bill. If your going on a bachelorette trip definitely go here you won’t regret it after dinner we went to the Cabert Mado which was a short Uber ride away about 10-15 mins not walkable in heels ladies take the Uber! Hope my review helped you all should check this place out it’s so much fun!
Fantastic food and service ! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Amazing I love the food and champagne I would recommend this place to anyone
I was incredibly disappointed by the service at this restaurant. Overall, the concept is pretty cool, and we were really excited to go. Unfortunately, we had an incredibly rude waitress that ruined our entire experience. Upon arrival, we tried to order a bottle of Champagne for the table. Any bottle that was under $100.00 she would tell us was terrible and wouldn't let us order. I am not sure why they have champagne on their menu that they refuse to let you order, but this happened. We finally asked about a bottle that was clearly within her price liking ($250.00), which she 'happily' retrieved for us. At the end, we split the bill between two people (food and drink), which meant we also split the tip and each paid an appropriate amount. The waitress proceed to yell at the second person who paid asking if the service was bad (which it was), and demanded a bigger tip. This person, incredibly upset by being yelled at pulled out a $20.00, and then the waitress proceed to yell, and pulled out her phone and calculated what she believed was an appropriate tip, showing it to the whole table, shaming the person paying, who proceeded to give her another $20.00, making the tip of our table amount to $95.00, which was much more than she deserved. One of the girls asked to speak to the manager as she was disgusted with the service of the waitress. The waitress proceeded to lie to the manager, indicating that she didn't realize there was two bills (which is unfortunate, because this would have meant she gave us half of our meal for free = less than an ideal server), but she did not. In the end, the manager did nothing, and the waitress who provided horrible service walked away with a tip far above what she ever deserved after acting like a complete child.
Security outside was not friendly at all. Server was very nice and helpful.
Great staff and best meal we’ve had in our 4 day in Montreal. You must get a bottle of champagne!
We were visiting Montreal and decided to give this place a shot.
1) we felt the Champagne prices were a bit on the higher side.
2) the food could use some creativity.
3) Service was great. Thank you Vincent.
4) After 11pm or so the place turned into a club, that was nice.
5) great place for people over the age of 30.
Overall it is good. We will swing by again when we are in town.
Ambiance and concept is great. Food was hit or miss. Amazing French onion soup but the other dishes were meh, especially for the price.
Service was subpar, except at the bar.
Excellent ! Love the place , food and service!
THE BEST!
We went with 9 girlfriends celebrating our 50th Birthdays. We had a great time!!
Killin was amazing as our bar tender!
Great experience, would definitely recommend! Their champagne list is phenomenal !
So much fun! Very overpriced though. Service was excellent.
Lovely service. Waitress gave great recommendations. Ambience was awesome. Music wasn’t too loud that you can still hear the person in front of you. Great experience!
Our waitress was phenomenal! Very helpful and caring. My boyfriend doesn’t speak French and she tried hard to speak English to him. The champagne was amazing and the food was delicious!
Amazing food! Best octopus and a swoon worthy poutine. Lovely service!
our waiter was amazing and truly made this experience one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to all my friends due to this.
