My husband and I recently had dinner here and had a great night, meal. Service was amazing and the food outstanding. Would highly recommend.
Very quaint and beautiful place. Food was good as was the service
This is a lovely venue in the city centre, an easy walk from Yonge & Bloor. Both of us had the prix fixe. I had the rillettes and moules et frites which were excellent and plentiful. My friend had the quiche which she said was merely okay as it was not hot although she did not bring this to the waiter's attention. She did admit that the rillettes were great.
Great meal at the bar. Great servers and great food
It was definitely loud in the solarium with a party of 6 girls there. It was also hot...ppl.were asking to have the door opened...which it was but as new patrons arrived, they asked for the door closed. Beyond that, it was a beautiful spot to have a delicious brunch.
Enjoyed brunch to celebrate friends birthdays. Great service and great food. My only compliant is that the tables are too close together. We were at a small round table for four people. Hard to find room forour entrees and coffee.
Went here for a late lunch for some friends. We frequent this place due to consistently good food and service. Good coffee and good food with prompt service. Great dining room with lots of character. Highly recommended.
Fantastic meal in a beautiful space. Recommend the crepe and the fresh pastries. Thomas was an exceptional and charming server!
Lovely ambiance though once it filled up closer to noon on Saturday the noise was quite loud.
We had been waiting months to go. My daughter, a popular Instagramer raved about it. I’m a Patissier and love the culinary arts. We were so impressed when we approached the restaurant. Set inside a beautifully maintained historic home. When we walked inside we fell I love with the ambiance and eclectic decore. At first we were seated in a busy area with a lot of groups and noise. We asked to be seated in the solarium. No issues. Much quieter and more romantic. We were greeted by Sava our waitress. Amazing young lady. She treated us with a lot of warmth and sincerity. All the food was exceptional. The portion sizes were impressive but not overwhelming. The tartare, beef bourguignon, tagliatelle with shaved black truffle and the smoked salmon with beets and creme fraiche were all incredible in presentation and flavour. When it came time for dessert we were too full. Then our waitress, Sava, suggested we go downstairs to their speak easy for an after dinner drink where she reserved a spot and a comped a dessert my partner had been mulling over; creme brûlée. I had forgotten about the speak easy. So we took her up on it and went downstairs. The speak easy is behind a white subway tiled wall. It is their quaint little bar. So incredibly cozy. We enjoy a couple of Brandy and later enjoyed the creme brûlée. During that time, Sava came downstairs to see if we were okay and enjoying ourselves. So sweet. When it was time to leave my partner couldn’t find her scarf. We went upstairs only to be greeted by the hostess and Maître D’ who were attentive to our query. The hostess knew of the scarf. Bent down to her station drawer and pulled out the scarf. All in all we are definitely returning to yet another fantastic Oliver & Bonacini restaurant. Thank you!
Lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Highly recommended.
Buck a shuck oysters we mediocre! Service and ambience Lovely! Find it over priced and just Okay overall.
Dining at Selby is a hitsorical moment. Carefully restored, awash with memorabilia with a bonus of good food and service. Pleasant lunch with old friends.
Great birthday treat. The staff were great! They definitely made us feel special.
Beautiful space but music too loud so general noise level too loud.
Service very good.
One of the mains is ratatouille. It was tasteless and nothing like real French ratatouille.
The food is fine but not generally up to the O+B standard.
Really beautiful, and nice service!
Everything is perfect!
I have eaten at Maison Selby many times and would love to see some additions to the menu. My sole was delicious but I did not think that frites added anything to the meal, especially when served cold in a separate dish. It took 90 minutes for the starter to arrive and that was only after requesting the server to check on our meals a couple of times. It is a quaint restaurant but seating four people at a table for two with a tall open flame candlestick is somewhat restrictive. The restaurant was very busy and the noise level so high that it was difficult to understand our server or our fellow diners. We very much enjoy having the restaurant in the neighbourhood so will be back.
Great birthday lunch for a friend at Selby! Food was amazing, we did the French onion burger, ALT sandwich, and birthday boy got a lemon tart. Everything was seriously so good. Environment was perfect, little room was ideal for hanging out for the afternoon as it was pretty quiet. Pete the bartender was fantastic, super friendly. Would recommend to anyone looking to catch up with a friend over a French inspired lunch :)
Great wines and delicious food. The restaurant catered to my dietary restrictions (keto) and the staff was attentive, yet not overbearing. Definitely recommended for business meetings, romantic date nights, and for friends looking for amazing food and drinks!!
Fantastic experience. Perfect for a Valentine's date!
Always have a great time here! great food and great atmosphere.
The French onion soup, coq au vin and creme brulee are all amazing!
Impressed, unexpected attention given to our anniversary celebration, will be back.
Tomato fennel and French Onion soups were very good. Avacado sandwich was underwhelming and tomatoes were soggy. Specifically requested to share the latter but it was not plated for two. Pappardelle was tasty but difficult to eat the long strands without a spoon. Service was very uneven once our order was placed. Bits kept arriving one by one. Tea, cream, spoon, no sugar. No teabag holder. Milk. No recognition of the birthday occasion even though it was mentioned in the reservation. Love the decor.
Have been for weekday breakfasts and lunch. The food is terrific from morning omelet to lunch time salads and hamburger. Attentive, great service. The building is beautifully restored, only thing missing is a coatrack.
Professional staff observing and unobtrusive service. Our steaks were undercooked. They prepared new ones and immediately offered to take dinner off the bill. We will be going back.
Top notch! The servers, the atmosphere, the FOOD! We had a wonderful experience. Thank you to all.
Had the tasting menu. A great value at $65 per person. Five courses. The fur savoury courses were each excellent. The dessert (a sort-of lava cake) was good if unspectacular. Still, a wonderful dinner experience in an unexpected location.
Maison Selby is an absolutely beautiful space that I had been meaning to visit in awhile. We came for lunch on family day (which had a few brunch options), and I would like to come back and try their dinner menu. Their menu had some of the quintessential French cuisine that actually is harder to find on a French menu in Toronto than you'd be led to believe (ie. escargot, ratatouille, crepe), which was delightful and charming.
I never thought I'd praise the plating of a liver parfait, but the way the garnishes carefully adorned the pate was beautiful - and it was tasty. The breakfast crepe was soul warming, and deceptively filling, stuffed to the gills with ham and cheese. My only minor critique of the day was that their bar was behind, so drinks were being served well into the meal. It may have been a matter of our table being reserved right at opening, but I think they should probably have a pipeline that works with that.
Overall, great experience, and we'll be back.
Our server made our evening. Excellent food. Tables are way too tiny and for price point they shouldn’t run out of utensils. Beautiful space and great cocktails b
As our first experience, we were pleasantly surprised...the food and drinks were stellar...the ambiance was amazing...Staff was excellent, but was less present as the evening went on...My fish entree arrived cold, however; the management, without hesitation removed item from our bill...despite, the few hiccups, I would totally go back without any reservation or negativity...we really loved it!
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Cheese pain au lait and Sunday roast prime rib were great. Chicken breast in the coq au vin was a little dry even with the jus. We also liked the long cocktail list.
What a restaurant! Amazing experience. Out for Sunday date night with my wife. Beautiful location with candle lit historic elegant decor. The staff are so warm and friendly throughout. Very knowledgeable about the menu, and were at the table just enough to make the experience flawless while still giving us space to enjoy our time together. Food is out of this world amazing, every dish well balanced and beautifully presented. Highlight was the duck liver parfait. After tonight Maison Selby is our new favourite go to spot.
Simple and very good food, the atmosphere is great for brunch or dinner. Never disappointed!
It was a great evening with superb service - super friendly waitstaff - and very good food. Highly recommend!
