The restaurant is good. The service was nice too.
The "coq au vin" and "duck confit" were excellent. The steak was good but overcooked in comparison with what was requested.
The small annoyance was the background music which is way too loud for a lunch time.
Recommended for any good French cuisine.
My only issue with Maison Selby is the amount of salt they use. I had the pate and burger with fries and the only flavour I got was salt. Cut back a little and it would be great.
Celebrated my birthday at Maison Selby recently with my parents. We had such a wonderful time. The restaurant's decor was classy but chic. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions and look forward to visiting again.
Everything was perfect ... so much better than any of the other Oliver and bonaccini restaurants I’ve been to including Bayview village and collingwood ... the staff and the food perfectly executed and I haven’t said that in a long time about any restaurant and I’m a big foodie ... I’m back again In two weeks
The ambiance, service, and food were all amazing. I ordered the tagliatelle which was incredibly rich and we finished with a perfectly cooked creme brulee. There was a large party in our room as well, but the noise level was moderate at most. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Went to Maison Selby for dinner on Friday night and it was lovely. The ambiance and coziness of the different rooms is so unique to Selby and I loved all the small touches around the restaurant. Service was excellent - warm & attentive. We both had the french onion soup (my favourite!) with steak frites. Accompanied with some delicious wine and our meal was perfect. Can't wait to return!
The service and ambiance were nice. Had the chuck burger and thought it was very good.
This was a birthday lunch and everything was fabulous!!peter our server was great the food was great the atmosphere was great...one of my favourite places in the city:)
Excellent restaurant - fantastic food and beautiful decor
We booked Maison Selby to celebrate my daughters birthday on a Monday night. The restaurant was beautiful, service excellent and food delicious. We ordered the steak, mussels, tagliatelle, bouf bourguinon and various hors d'oevres, all served hot and perfectly done. We plan to go back on one of buck-a-chuck nights.
Their onion soup is the real thing-- tastes like it would in France. Caesar salad on the small side, but nice, with pickled anchovies. The place was nearly empty for lunch when I went, and we received full attention from the staff. Very lovely place for lunch, if a little pricey.
One of the best meals I’ve had in quite a while. Authentic French cuisine prepared with attention to detail.
Service was friendly without being intrusive.
Gorgeous architecture in the old C.H. Gooderham House on Sherbourne.
Highly recommended for special events or a regular night out.
We had a great dinner. Sat a table 113 which is perfect for date. We will be back!
Had an excellent time at Maison Selby, our waitress and food were delightful. Will definitely be back!
I ordered French onion soup and it was terrible. They didn’t even bring me bread with it and I have to ask and then they charged me for some pieces of breads. The soup was cold and I got so sick after eating it.
We had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve at Maison Selby - our food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be back.
Amazing service, and delicious food! Erica, assistant general manager and Carlin our server went above and beyond for us and they are exceptional staffs there. They were attentive to our orders and came back to check up on us frequently. The food was amazing. We ordered the duck parfait which was so tasty and they have one of the best French onion soup ever. We also had the steak with seared foie gras and pasta with truffle which was so good! A must try if you like alcohol is the selbys mule! One of the best French restaurants I have been to in a while in Toronto! A must try! We will definitely come back here!
A nice lunch . The pre fix menu was delicious and great value . Has the mussels which were perfectly prepared.
The restaurant had only one bar menu for the 5 of us which made it very difficult to all chose drinks. And the food delivery was rushed too much. I have been to all the O&B places and this was the worst for service
I live on bloor and frequent Maison Selby. I love the food the service is impeccable the ambiance fabulous!! Everything is fabulous could eat here every night
Really good, authentic French Food. Great service and intimate dining rooms. The tables are really close together, so on a busy night that would kind of suck. It's probably a bit overpriced, but not to an extreme. The beef bourguignon was incredible, and so was the coq au vin. Would skip the escargot next time, as the portion was too small for my liking, even though they were very good. Caesar salad was meh. Sticky toffee pudding dessert was standard, but amazing as always. Would definitely recommend this spot.
The main courses (plats principaux) were delicious.
Liked Everything but it was a bit noisy
My third visit and enjoyed it each time Consistent food and sevice
We were not that impressed with our first visit to Maison Selby. The atmosphere is lovely but the service was just ok. We had a bunch of different people tending to us, all friendly, but we never knew who our server was and there would be very long stretches of time where no one came to our table. The food was fine. Not terrible but not great. I barely remember what I had.
This was my second visit to Maison Selby. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed our selections. The slow service put a damper on our Christmas lunch though. I'm not sure where the issues were but drinks took forever to come and our main courses took 1.5 hours to be served (we were only 5 in our group). Good thing we weren't in a rush.
We went with our visitors from Chicago for Sunday brunch on December 22nd. Everything was perfect. The food absolutely delicious and the ambience wonderful. The building is so beautiful. This was my 4th visit. And will be back soon
High end food in a beautiful, elegant and unique setting. Excellent service to top it off.
Excellent meal. All dishes were delicious. We had the French onion soup and the escargot to start. Our mains were the beef Bourgogne and the lamb. Would reorder any of these. The service was excellent and I think overall great value. Will return.
The French Onion soup was delicious. A true French bistro menu.
Another wonderfulevening at Maison Selby
Many thanks to all
The food was very good but what stood out the most was the service and attention to detail. The bar side was a bit loud for us and someone overheard me casually mentioning that to my husband. Without asking, we were offered to sit in the dinning area which was much quieter. They waited until we finished our cocktails before bringing out the appetizers and they were so attentive throughout dinner without being intrusive. Our server was very professional yet friendly. Top notch!!!
Always love coming here, food was excellent, server was friendly, but got three of our order items wrong, and did not explain to us what was on our meat board...as they have every other time I've gone, would have been nice to know what we were eating! I understand it's the holidays, or maybe he is new.
It was all so great but the noise level was off the charts. Some sound baffling would help.
It was alright. Service was soso..the server had a bit of an attitude. The food was alright..we enjoyed the foie gras and escargots but that's about it. Do yourself a favor and head to ricardas for their Sunday brunch if you enjoy better ambiance and foods.
The pork chops were delicious! Great after dinner cocktails as well.
A lovely lunch for a ladies' day out. The cocktails and dishes we ordered were excellent and the wait staff was very helpful and friendly.
I love this restaurant. Each room is charming on its own although I prefer the room with the fireplace and bar. Unfortunately, when I was there this week there was an unusually loud group of 5 whose noise required me to ask for a different table. Too bad staff can't ask patrons to tone it down just a little for the comfort of others. I found the omelette of the day to be a little tightly cooked - not a true french omelette. the onion soup was superb but I question the price - really? $15 for a bowl of soup. After all the omelette came with two ingredients folded in AND a salad for $19. Seems to me the soup is overpriced when you think that the kitchen can have a vat of soup ready and add a piece of bread and cheese to it.
In spite of this I will return.
Great new restaurant. Stick to the entrees since the desserts are nothing special.
Perfect..the staff could not have been more accommodating and service amazing Many thanks for a wonderful evening
