    Our reservation was from 4-6 pm. Perfect timing in the winter because it’s still light enough to see the view in daylight but also get to see the nighttime city lights! The other bonus is ordering appies and drinks from the golden hour menu then dinner at 5pm from the main menu. Very attentive service before main meal was delivered but then it got too busy for our waiter to check on our main course. Steak was not cooked as expected but still delicious then received a complimentary dessert. We have a family member with severe allergies so we are very sensitive to certain ingredients. We were never asked about food sensitivity which seems to be the norm in many restaurants now. Not all ingredients were listed on the description of certain menu items. For example I was surprised to get cream on top of the Major Tot which just says smoked sturgeon and pickled onions on the menu. I have a lactose intolerance so was able to scrape it off but then that leaves me to wonder what other common allergens and sensitivities are not listed on the menu. I would not therefore bring my family member to this restaurant. Overall we had a good meal in a beautiful environment! I hate to pick on very small things to criticize but expectations for this restaurant and its reputation are very high!

    Our server was amazing, very informative with the menu and attentive and the food and drinks were delicious The place has quite the ambiance but it was never difficult to hear our conversation

    Booked at Major Tom for a lunch with old friends and business colleagues. Matt, our server, was exceptional. He helped my guests with menu suggestions, was attentive without being overwhelming and generally made the lunch a great experience!

    Great atmosphere with great service. The view is unrivalled and worth paying a premium. The food was amazing, if you're looking for a unique dining experience in Calgary Major Tom is definitely a place to go.

    We had an 11am table. It was nice to walk into a quiet restaurant with an unobstructed view. The view is quite wonderful. The muzak level was a little high for an empty restaurant. The room filled up quickly, and the noise level soon rose, but it was not distracting. Our waiter was Matt. Matt looked like someone more comfortable performing, arm bars, chokeholds, or Superman punches than describing our fois grois, sturgeon mousse, face oysters, and Icelandic cod (all of these were a nice treat). He pulled it off with eloquent cordial expertise. We will certainly be paying another visit. At night, next time to see the city lights. The peach old-fashioned is recommended.

    The food was OK - oysters were great, salad was OK, beef was good. Our main issue is that the waitress decanted a $700 bottle of wine like it was coke being poured from a can. She had no idea of what she was dealing with. That did it for us. Clearly this is a ‘go-to’ place - not for us - won’t be back.

    We were celebrating our 40th anniversary. Had requested a window seat but did not get one. However the staff went out of their way to improve on this. Our server Colin was outstanding!! The food excellent. We were surprised at the noise level but it was busy. All in all a memorable night.

    Poor service. They forgot our appetizer and brought our meals. When I asked it took them awhile to come over and make note it wasn’t there and at this point we were half way through our meals and no longer wanted it. Waitress never check on us and we seemed almost like an inconvenience because we ordered burgers. Been multiple times and never had such poor service.

    Worth the wait to get a reservation. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious. We had a wonderful evening with spectacular. The only down fall was the fire alarm light going off the entire dinner.

    Too bad we didn’t sit by the window for my mom 88th birthday but that’s ok Also it was very annoying when the fire alarm lights were on going for one and half hour-since we arrived at five pm Otherwise it was a lovely evening!

    It was a great experience! There for an anniversary, they gave us a corner table by the window and gave us a card signed by the staff. A nice touch. They had a slight delay because there was a fire alarm and everyone had to vacate, including staff. Once back in the restaurant it was amazing how quickly they were up and running again! All the food was well prepared, imaginative, delicious and cooked as ordered. Martinis were icy cold and make use of the sommelier, he picked a perfect Chardonnay to go with our meal. A beautiful evening that made for a memorable anniversary.

    Fire alarm went off during our anniversary dinner. Had to walk down 40 flights of stairs. Lots of people having trouble. No management lead the way. No meeting or organization for the guest. Paid parking. Paid babysitter. No credit no nothing for our ruined dinner. I expected much more from a fine dinning experience. We found staff around the corner once we left the lobby and one of the staff members yelled out “ I hope no one else comes back in” Very distasteful

    I wish they didn’t seat me in a dark corner with no light. I couldn’t read the menu it was so dark. The room carries noise. Our server is as friendly and efficient. The food is was above average quality. I just felt really sad being in the dark loud corner on what was supposed to be a big celebration for me.

    This is my 3rd visit to Major Tom’s 😃 … I always make a reservation but when we showed up on time for our reservation they had nothing ready for us … I was asked where I wanted to sit? I had filled that all in on the reservation online … they had us seated in 10 minutes and other than the wait it was an awesome night celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary … great food great service and great views Thank you ever so much

    Lovely meal with a great view. Very friendly and knowledgable server who was able to give us a great wine recommendation to pair with our steaks. We arrived at 4pm so it would still be daylight then transition into night (late November). This is an ideal time because you arrive in time for special drinks offers before 5pm and beat the dinner rush so service was very quick. We had 2x potato donuts for starters, a striploin and filet mignon, with a side of potato purée, Marsala mushrooms and Bernaise sauce between us for mains (sides and sauce are very large so good to share). Followed by a chocolate dessert to share. That plus 2 beers, a bottle of wine, a coffee, and 2 cocktails came to around $300 so I think it’s quite reasonably priced. It was busy towards the end of the meal but not too loud.
