    Poor service. They forgot our appetizer and brought our meals. When I asked it took them awhile to come over and make note it wasn’t there and at this point we were half way through our meals and no longer wanted it. Waitress never check on us and we seemed almost like an inconvenience because we ordered burgers. Been multiple times and never had such poor service.

    Worth the wait to get a reservation. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious. We had a wonderful evening with spectacular. The only down fall was the fire alarm light going off the entire dinner.

    Too bad we didn’t sit by the window for my mom 88th birthday but that’s ok Also it was very annoying when the fire alarm lights were on going for one and half hour-since we arrived at five pm Otherwise it was a lovely evening!

    Fire alarm went off during our anniversary dinner. Had to walk down 40 flights of stairs. Lots of people having trouble. No management lead the way. No meeting or organization for the guest. Paid parking. Paid babysitter. No credit no nothing for our ruined dinner. I expected much more from a fine dinning experience. We found staff around the corner once we left the lobby and one of the staff members yelled out “ I hope no one else comes back in” Very distasteful

    I wish they didn’t seat me in a dark corner with no light. I couldn’t read the menu it was so dark. The room carries noise. Our server is as friendly and efficient. The food is was above average quality. I just felt really sad being in the dark loud corner on what was supposed to be a big celebration for me.

    This is my 3rd visit to Major Tom’s 😃 … I always make a reservation but when we showed up on time for our reservation they had nothing ready for us … I was asked where I wanted to sit? I had filled that all in on the reservation online … they had us seated in 10 minutes and other than the wait it was an awesome night celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary … great food great service and great views Thank you ever so much

    Lovely meal with a great view. Very friendly and knowledgable server who was able to give us a great wine recommendation to pair with our steaks. We arrived at 4pm so it would still be daylight then transition into night (late November). This is an ideal time because you arrive in time for special drinks offers before 5pm and beat the dinner rush so service was very quick. We had 2x potato donuts for starters, a striploin and filet mignon, with a side of potato purée, Marsala mushrooms and Bernaise sauce between us for mains (sides and sauce are very large so good to share). Followed by a chocolate dessert to share. That plus 2 beers, a bottle of wine, a coffee, and 2 cocktails came to around $300 so I think it’s quite reasonably priced. It was busy towards the end of the meal but not too loud.

    I love everything about the resturant, it was very easy to find and great parking and everyone made us feel special. I found my burger bun was bery soggy and the serve was very quiet, did not make converstion or make it feel welcoming

    A beautiful mid-century style decor, well lit and judicious use of sound deadening materials. Great service by a team that knows their stuff. Perfectly prepared food and cocktails. No complaints.

    Amazing dining experience! It was our first time there and we were celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive and amazing to us! One thing I should note that since it is kid friendly, it would’ve been nice for them to have a change table. Our waiter thought there was one in the ladies washroom but it was a narrow table and dangerous to have a baby on it. So I asked the hostess if I could change my baby on their couch outside since I have a change pad but she suggested I go into the handicap stall as there was a small table. I said sure thinking it was a big table but it was narrow and small but I attempted to change my baby on it which was very difficult and stressful to change a 3 month old on it. I told our waiter and he was very apologetic! Later on in the evening he told us he mentioned it to management and they will work on getting a change table. Again, amazing service from our waiter!

    We travelled to Calgary from Red Deer for a special weekend get away, and we booked a table for 2 at 4pm, November 25th, 2023 at Major Tom’s. This place was by far the best dinner dining experience we have ever had! Situated way up high on the 40th floor, we were seated by the window with the best view you could imagine overlooking the Calgary Skyline. The weather was perfect and allowed for a wicked sunset during dinner. We were also presented with a very thoughtful hand signed card by the staff as a welcome gift, which was awesome! First and foremost, a shoutout to our waiter Phillip Nguyen, who absolutely made our night even more special! He was humorous but professional, quick witted, has an awesome personality, was present when he needed to be, is extremely efficient, and was the perfect highlight to an already spectacular night out! I honestly can’t say enough about the spectacular service he provided. Give this man a raise ASAP!! The drink menu is full of unique creations, and we tried the ‘Apple Vodka Old Fashioned’, ‘All The Way Up’, ‘Tom Collins’, ‘Paloma’, ‘Butterfly’s Elbows’, and the ‘East 8 Hold Up’. Every single one was amazing and perfectly crafted by the bar staff. We ordered the Crispy Hen Eggs and Major Tots to start, and while the Crispy Hen Eggs were unique, my absolute favourite was the Major Tots! Superbly delicious! For mains, we shared the 6oz Filet Mignon, ordered medium rare which was done to perfection, the Roasted Alberta Lamb, which was like a next level Thanksgiving style dinner, and the Garlic Shrimp as a side (Shrimp were huge!) Very exquisite all around! This establishment deserves a solid 15/10! This was a night that we will never forget. We will return again very soon! Thank you, Phillip, and the rest of the staff at Major Tom’s who helped make our weekend getaway night the best it could possibly be!

    I visited with my boyfriend for our anniversary and from the moment we walked up to the host stand, we were ignored. We arrived quite early so we had anticipated to wait, but the head host told us the people at our table were almost finished so they would clear the table and come get us from the seating area in front of the host stand. An hour went by, and he refused to make eye contact. Our reso was at 9:30, so at 9:40 we walked up to him and asked if our table was ready, to which he said “oh you guys are ready now?”, as if he had been waiting on us. Once we were sat, our server didn’t come over for another 10 minutes, and when she rang in our drinks, it took 20 minutes to receive our cocktails. Then, our server told us she’d romance the menu for us, but she only re-read the menu out loud to us with zero recommendations. We ordered the 12 ounce NY Striploin ($59 for JUST the steak, no sides included), the puréed potatoes ($10) and the citrus and fennel salad ($15) The food took an hour to get to our table, and when we received it our steak was over cooked (asked for medium rare, came medium-medium well), and the fat wasn’t rendered down at all (was rubbery and chewy), as well as being heavily over salted. The potatoes were great the first two bites, but became increasingly salty the further into the dish we got, and the salad was a very weird combination of flavours (to each their own, just not our cup of tea). They did comp the salad from our bill. The music was also so loud that we couldn’t hear each other, or the server speak. Overall, our expectations were quite high as everyone we know has told us good things about this place, but it was honestly a horrible experience. We were very let down for our anniversary.

    All of the staff from the front of house to the server were very friendly. The server was excellent in menu recommendations as well. The food was fantastic, and the ambience with the low lighting and beautiful views were excellent. We'll definitely be visiting again.
