I arrived a lil early and they couldn't find our reservation so I showed them my email and they sat us. We had requested a booth with our reservation but they sat us at a table and left before we could utter a word.
The miso soup was watery and they didn't give anyone spoons for it (including other tables).
They brought us the wrong order twice and we ended up having to put the order through again. The pork we ordered at the start we didn't even get to us until the end.
We told three different servers that our iPad was dying and everyone said they'd bring us a new one and no one did until it actually died and we had to resend in our last order because of it.
We ended up waiting an hour for ice cream. Just ice cream. Thirty minutes in we mentioned it to a server and they said they would check with the kitchen. Another twenty minutes later and all the tables around us are getting icecream... Multiple tables with much larger groups of people were sat after us and left before us.
I've never had these issues with the Oshawa location, I'll never visit this location again.
Good quality food. The presentation was nice. Great date night spot. The area was warm an inviting
A couple of items were missed when ordered but it was soon rectified. Servers are very polite and food was good.
Made reservations. Took us to our table of 5. Place settings were set for two.
No “Hello” or any type of greeting.
“You like drinks?”
Asked for place settings twice. Then had to ask for side plates. Then had to ask for napkins.
My beer was knocked over when she delivered it.
We had to clean it up. She just wiped up fast…still soaking wet with beer!
Pad Thai was the worst I have ever had.
No green curry chicken.
Scallops (fried) were “off” could not eat.
Asked for water..came with 1 small ice cube and the water was cloudy!!!
They knew it was my husband’s birthday but did not say anything.
Mango salad was 8 strands of mango, 1 strand of red pepper.
No one asked how our meal was?
No one cared that we were a customer.
Very disappointed and very embarrassed that we recommended this to our friends to come with us.
Every picture in the iPad did not look to anything we received!
Plus servers would just come and “plop” the food down wherever they found a space (empty plates everywhere!!) and they did not even tell us what the food was! Some items we could not even recognize!!

It was apparent that the hostess was very busy and overwhelmed. We had our reservation and we're not able to be seeing or sat for over 30 minutes at which point A server came over to seat us.
Some of the food was really really good as I expect. Some of the food with severely under seasoned. We almost wanted to ask for salt for the table and I'm not the type of person that wants to salt my food.
Overall it was nice but it was I guess very busy for them at this point. Which I'm very understanding about.
I will prefix this review with we have been going to this Makimono for years; however ever since Covid the quality and service are lacklustre. Each time we ordered multiples of any option only 1-2 pieces were served and we were a party of 5!!
Surely will not be returning.
The food is terrific and although delivery is generally good in sushi items, we had to ask for our won-ton soup five times over our hour there, with each previous inquiry greeted with a surprised “you didn’t get your soup?” and rushing off to apparently not get it.

They didn’t really acknowledge our reservation, in which I had told them it was my daughter’s birthday.
Great food, friendly staff, but it took a while for the things we ordered to come out, and we had to reorder multiple items as they never came.
Didn’t get everything we ordered as it was all you can eat, kept following up with the servers to no avail, I think they do this on purpose so you don’t eat too much. Portions are small for all you can eat.
Good selection but very overpriced compared to other all you can eat sushi

The food was very slow, took 40min to get edamame out to the table, other food that was ordered took way to long as well. Overall bad experience, have been here before with better performance

The food was great quality and freshly made. Service was fast and well timed. Atmosphere was bright and festive for the coming holidays and the pricing makes sense for the over all experience and quality. Definitely recommend. Much appreciated!
Our food took thirty minutes to arrive after being ordered, which we understood since it was busy. However, every dish we received was cold, and seemed like it had been sitting ready for those thirty minutes. We had to leave without eating because the food quality was so poor. Very disappointing.
Really delish food. Loved the all you can eat, but i also like some of the à la carte options 2. Good service.
Food was good but service was slow and parts of order were missed.
There were 7 of us and is supposed to be all you can eat, but we were not able to order any more from the tablet. Our server seemed to disappear even thought there was no uneaten food on the table. A little disappointing.

Service was poor. Food took way too long to come and our son had to leave with only appetizers to eat due to an appointment he had.
The food was pretty good for the most part. One dish had a hair in it and the manager blamed the supplier and didn't apologize. The service was really bad. No smiling, not very attentive, no communication at all. At the end when we paid our bill not a thank you, just walked away. I've been there once before and it was fine, but this was exceptionally bad. I wouldn't go back at this point, there are too many other options in the area.
Love this restaurant — fast service, always great food.
I have been there twice in the last few months and the service seems to just get worse. This time in particular we were enjoying our meal only to have both our waitresses repeatedly asking us if we wanted our dessert and bill even though we hadn’t received some of what we already ordered. We felt rushed to get our bills and when we did pay our waitress asked us if there were any problems and pointed at our receipts saying we hadn’t tipped. We tried to explain to her that we were leaving the cash in our hands as a tip but after how rude she was to us basically telling us to tip her we thoughtfully declined. I called the manager afterwards just to let him know our experience and he basically told us that his waitress is to blame and rushed us off the phone and hung up. Overall there are way better places to get sushi then here. Especially when it comes to services you would receive better service anywhere else!

This was our second visit and it was just as good the 2nd time. The i-pad ordering is such a novelty and kinda fun too. Service was slow on our 2nd visit which was puzzling as it was not crowded. But the wait staff is friendly and helpful with the dishes. Plan to go again.
I love this restaurant but the bathroom is always pretty filthy.
Love Tatemono in Whitby. Go there quite often and is one of my favorites. All you can eat sushi is awesome and price is good. Spider and red dragon rolls are really tasty. Good customer service all around. One of my go to places.
Getting a table can be a hassle, there rarely seems to be a hostess handling guests as they come in and build up in the small corner. But once you're seated it's a quality experience.
Servers are so rude.. but the food is amazing, comes fast, and is definitely worth it to get all you can eat! nice place, it’s a shame the staff is so awful
Food was served very fast and everything tasted good. Waitress was fast and attentive & I got a rose for Valentine’s day for dining there!
They really need to turn down the music.. It was way too annoying! And they need to pay more attention to the orders being placed... Missed 3 of our items and when we advised of it, there was no apology.
The food is gross, I found a lot of hair in My food which weren’t mine! And the waiter spilled water on me!!
