    We chose Mala Ocean Tavern as our anniversary dinner while on vacation in Lahaina. Johnny provided excellent service. We had a table on the patio with a view of the sunset and we couldn’t imagine celebrating 25 years in a better location. We started out with the special peach & burrata crostinis which were delightful. We followed that with a 2 pound whole fried opakapaka (red snapper) with purple sweet potato mash, which we shared. Again, this was perfectly executed and fell off the bone easily. The sweet potato mash was another home run. This was so good there wasn’t anything (that we considered) edible left on the plate. We finished the evening with bread pudding, which was topped with vanilla ice cream surrounded in a lemon sauce. I’m running out of adjectives to describe the food: amazing, delicious, wonderful, indulgent. I highly recommend having dinner at Mala Ocean Tavern. You won’t be disappointed.

    Always great to have a nice relaxing brunch oceanfront at Mala Ocean Tavern. Delicious burger, omelet and Fish & Chips. Great server in Kate. Enjoyed our pre-Father's day brunch.

    If I had know there a an issue with a party of 6 sitting on the deck, I wouldn’t have made the reservation. Sitting on the deck was the reason for coming to the restaurant. In addition, I had to ask for a kid’s menu and then again, for crayons, when we clearly had a little one with us. The hostess was a bit scattered. The waiter was great.

    Mala restored my faith in the Maui food scene. The food, the setting, the atmosphere, the service were all 17/10. We would absolutely come back here!

    One of the best restaurants I have ever been too! It’s a shame we discovered it on our last day. One suggestion, stop calling the ice cream dessert a donut, it’s killing the wait staff. Lol
