   We made a reservation at the Wilderness Kitchen hoping we would get to taste some game meat (last time they had Elk, Bison, and more). To our disappointment they had nothing but meat you can get at any other restaurant. The food was tasty but not what it used to be. This is not a “wilderness” kitchen anymore and we won’t be going back.

   Terrible experience this time around. The food is usually good, noticed the the menu changed since April/22. Not much of a menu, food was cold and portions were small. Extremely hot in the dining side….no air conditioning, felt bad for the staff too. They brought a bottle of warm water to the table, tables were dirty. We had the brisket sandwich which was tough and way too much BBQ sauce. Had to send the meal back a couple of times salad was wilted and felt like the lettuce was left out a room temperature for quiet some time. Fries were excellent, very tasty. Not sure if we will return.

   Our first dinner experience at Wilderness kitchen was outstanding and the food was exceptional. Our lunch experience this time was very disappointing and the food was just okay.

   This is a must visit in Jasper. Great ambience sitting outside overlooking a river. The food is fantastic we had the blue cheese salad and beef brisket. A great stop after touring Maligne lake rd or completing a hike!

   We had a great visit to Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen. The restaurant honored our request for a table with a view (we got to sit outside). The food was freshly prepared, and we had a nice server.

   We were so excited to go here but it was an total let down. Like seriously, how do you screw up chicken fingers and a grilled cheese sandwich? The chicken fingers were so overdone our kids couldn’t eat it, the grilled cheese sandwich wasn’t even toasted and the bowl of soup I had was completely laughable for $10. Not to mention this almost took an hour to get. Other high disappointments were the washroom facilities were absolutely disgusting. Go for the scenery not the food

   Amazingly good food in a somewhat remote area near an amazing hike (Due to the views not the actual hike itself)through Maligne Canyon. A relatively small but very interesting menu and there’s definitely something for everyone including gluten-free options. Service was great and views are spectacular.

    People from all around the world come here. Food is a cultural aspect in a way. The quality needs to meet the expectations. Everyone is a cook to a degree. A restaurant must offer something better than mediocre. Your mushroom flat bread. Nothing creative about it. Go to Tekkara, same dish, much better interpretation. The drinks were flat.

    The food was great as is the view. We ate outside but the wasps were relentless so we had to relocate inside. The inside seating is very comfortable compared to the picnic bench seating on the patio.

    Incredible food! We had the sharer board and after a very long walk this was the perfect treat! Staff were friendly and welcoming and the setting by the canyon was just perfect!

    What dining experience? I confirmed a reservation via OpenTable. I confirmed I would be there the day before via the OpenTable email. I was running late so I called the restaurant only to go to voicemail telling me the restaurant will be closing 1 hour BEFORE my reservation and that if I wanted to be contacted, leave a message. Well I couldn’t do that because the mailbox was full. Seriously folks, I know times are tough trying to get hospitality staff but if you cannot update OpenTable to reflect what is going on, maybe you shouldn’t be running a business.

    Sat on the patio for canyon sounds in the background. Shared the platter so got to sample and share 4 smoked meats and 4 sides - especially fun with friends. Sangria and the canyon cocktail were a highlight! Note that they’re understaffed (like the rest of the world), so some tables remain open and some menu items might be unavailable. If you can be kind about that, highly recommend a stop here for after your canyon walk.

    Yummy food and great service. Was rainy we were hoping to sit on the patio - that one is out of everyone’s control tho. The prices were a bit high & seating a bit cramped- however I like the cushions and pillows it was cute and cozy. I would of liked to see a bit more variety in the menu. The s’more dessert wasent worth it in my eyes, cold and overpriced.

    A beautiful setting for a wonderful restaurant. We had the soup of the day which was UNREAL, and crispy cauliflower that was not greasy at all. The pulled pork and bison burger were delicious and the service was lovely.

    The restaurant is beautiful and has great views of the water canyon. We enjoyed the live music very much! Service was excellent and very attentive. Food (smoked platter) was just average to be honest and needs some consideration for more flavour and the sides were barely warm.

    Beautiful outdoor setting. Lovely and loud running water. Sides, chicken and pulled pork were excellent, but salmon was dry and brisket was chewy. Great service.

    Both Hanna and Finn's service was awesome! Food was very good, and scenery lovely... They were out of some items like roasted cauliflower, which was subbed for broccoli and smokehouse sausages subbed for salmon... no biggie... all good... the mac and cheese was outstanding!

    We found this restaurant in the lonely planet and were very much looking forward to our meal as we have not had a bad meal since coming to Canada. However, we were very disappointed. Not only did the food take 50 minutes to come out but it was luke warm, dry and somewhat tasteless. My partner had to order his own drinks at the bar as the severs were too busy chatting at the bar. We witnessed several other people also complaining and sending food back. This may have been an off day but just not good enough especially as we drove out of Jasper town to get to it!! The explanation given was they were short staffed which I appreciate but there were five staff serving and actually only eight tables.

    You have to stop here for a meal. We walked the trails of the canyon and then enjoyed an excellent lunch at the restaurant.
