   Just found out this place existed so we were very excited to try something new in Shakopee! So glad we did! Fun upbeat atmosphere. Fun was great! Service was a bit slow and inattentive at times but very friendly. Manager came over to check on us to see if we were being taken care, so that was appreciated. Will definitely be back and can’t wait to sit out on the patio. Make reservations on the weekend! It’s not a big place so seating is a challenge.

   The manager stopped by our table but I don't think she was actually listening to us. Slow down and actually make contact.

   It was a little loud inside for conversation. I look forward to going back there again and trying out the outside patio when the weather permits. Food was excellent and a nice choice of different menu items you don't always see.

    Went for dinner over the weekend with my wife. Upon arrival noticed a lot of noise so clearly they were very busy. Made reservation but they were running behind, which the hostess informed us and was very friendly and respectful. After being seated the noise again was very loud because all the tables are very close to each other. So close that customers and servers had difficulty getting through. Because of this arrangement, I also had a hard time hearing my wife and I can hear all the conversations around me because everyone was talking over each other. Food service was a little slow, and as a result appetizer came out just before the entrees. Dry rub chicken wings were burnt but flavorful. I had the meatloaf and loved it. My wife had the seafood cannelloni and she enjoyed it. Good food but not a place to relax and enjoy the company of your dinner party because of the noise factor. I highly recommend the restaurant install more noise absorption foam panels in the ceiling or remove some tables if they want to create a more peaceful environment. Lighting is also an issue. My seat had a spot light shining directly on me which was annoying when I looked up. Will visit again because the menu had other entrees I want to try.

    I wanted to love it. Food was decent, but service a huge disappointment & a bit overpriced. We waited 25 min for our reserved table and another 75 minutes for entrees. Waiter was very disorganized & lacked social skills. The final bill was incorrect. We had a corner table by windows. It was a very cold and drafty. Manager worked to make amends, but the comp felt a bit short. Don’t be in a rush for Friday night dinner. It took 2 hours for a lobster roll, fish fry and jambalaya.

    First time dining and was very impressed. One of the only places to find good fried shrimp in MSP and the cheese plate appetizer is excellent

    3 couples celebrating Valentines a few days late. Food at Mallards is top notch. Being from the south, the southern influenced menu is as close as you can get to the south on the north end of the Mississippi River. Highly recommend!!!

    Food as always was excellent. Busy day handled well. Had to have high top in bar despite reservation but not really their fault. Loud in bar though Two different music sources from two different places competing. Lol

    The food and service were great. It got pretty noisy later and it was hard to hear. We were also very cold. They needed to turn the heat up. We will return. Thank you.

    Our party of 5 stopped on our way home for lunch, it was suggested by an acquaintance. We were able to be seated right away. Our food and drinks were amazing. We also had a few different deserts, the hot apple pie was excellent and recommended. Our waitress was personable and did a nice job. We will definitely stop again when in the area.

    We have been to this location 3 times since they opened. There are very few real restaurants near us so we’re excited to have a good one. Mallards has improved each time we have been in. The food is good, with plenty of options and the prices are commensurate with the quality. We came in with a reservation on a Friday night at 645. When we arrived, it was already packed. We had to wait a minute to be seated but pretty quick and the service once we were seated was great

    The Sea Bass with coconut risotto was so flavorful, perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!! Excellent service in a nice size restaurant, not too big, casual & comfortable. Looking forward to nicer weather & being able to eat outdoors with a river view. We will be back!

    Barramundi was salty, coconut lime rice was awesome! Scott, our server, seems so bored, doesn't smile at all, I've been here before and the service is always amazing so kind of surprised

    It’s okay place, but prices are reasonable. Obviously, the restaurant is understaffed, so waiting time is longer, although the staff do all their best.
