   Dès notre premier contact au téléphone, nous nous sommes sentis accueilli. En pénétrant à l'intérieur de cet univers fabuleux, ce qui m'a frappé, en premier, c'est cette pénombre chaude qui vous enveloppe. Le sourire de l'accueil, un endroit urbain, où vous pouvez charmés et être charmés dans des espaces uniques. Chaque table du restaurant a son caractère particulier. Un serveur plus qu'à l'écoute, avenant!!! Des attentions sur mesure pour chaque client, très à l'écoute ! Une nourriture goûteuse, fait par un chef passionné! Vin délicieux! Un pain maison dont on se souviendra ! Repas que l'on peut s'offrir selon les budgets, plusieurs combinaison possible pour permettre au plus grand nombre de gens, de pouvoir vivre ce moment où l'on se choisi avec ceux que l'on apprécie. Merci à notrr serveur pour toutes ses petites attentions, au chef pour son humanisme et son amour de la cuisine! Merci au propriétaire pour cette création, on sent à travers tous lew éléments de cet endroit onirique que vous aimez faire plaisir aux gens!!!    Our visit at Magiafoco was for a party of 5, following a show in the old port. I hadn’t been there for a couple of years, but recalled the quality of ingredients and great service, which motivated our choice to go as a group. The ambience was extremely dimmed, so much so, that we had to use our phones’ light to read the menu. Our waiter was knowledgeable and polite, but not very attentive. We only ordered one round of drinks, because we simply couldn’t establish eye contact with staff, and had to wait a good 30 minutes before we could ask for our bills. Nevertheless, the food was amazing- we ordered a group Mozzarella di Buffala platter, each picking an extra ingredient to built pour own experience. The mozzarella was great, although too cold to my taste. The truffled peaches, cherry tomatoes, porchetta, and artichoke left us all extremely satisfied! I also ordered the polpettes, they were great, and my friends ordered fried calamari, and really enjoyed it.

    Great pizza with gluten free options and the gluten free pizza tastes good as well! We had terrible ones but this restaurant similar to IlFoccolaio have very good gluten free pizzas!

    Nice lively place, food was delicious, waitstaff were friendly and pleasant. Only wish they'd update the upholstery on the booth seats in the back. They were So worn and cracked it kept scratching my legs since I wore a short skirt.

    Amazing. Can’t say it enough, simply amazing. The food, the staff, the ambiance. Everything was perfect. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had anywhere, their bolognese sauce was absolute perfection. The pizza dough they use is incredible. The arancina, just “chef kiss”.     Amazing entrées and pizza. Amazing atmosphere, so beautiful. Very good music and not too loud, you can still have a conversation. Drinks were so good and service was impeccable. The waiter read our minds all evening!

    Although the restaurant was less than half full, and we had made a reservation over a week ago, we were given the worst table in the restaurant, at the back, in the dark. We needed our phone flashlights to read the menu, the food was barely recognizable in the dark and the hot food was served at barely room temperature. The flavors were perfectly fine but nothing more. Not recommended because there are so many more and better options in that neighborhood.

    The only thing we didn’t like is that every waiter would go from clearing tables or making clients pay (taking cash/touching the interact machine) to cutting the bread for the tables. So they are touching it with their hands without ever washing them. Use a glove guys. 🙏 Our waiter was so nice but the waiter serving the bottom part was rude to us. That why we ended up being seated upstairs.

    Highlight was the buratta, it was excellent. The rest of the experience was not. The ambiance was unique but too dark for our liking. The pizza was tasty and the salads decent but not worth the price. The service was very curt and not friendly. The washrooms needed a lot of work. No running water in the women’s bathroom.

    Whenever I am in Montreal I usually visit Mangiafoco one evening for a very good pizza, a delicious salad, excellent wine at an affordable price, followed by a good grappa. Manager opened a new bottle which was excellent!
