This was our first visit to Mangiamo. We were celebrating my wife’s 40th birthday. We found the restaurant very easily. We were quickly greeted and asked to sit in the bar area. Melissa was our server. She was very friendly and educated on the menu. She helped us with our wine order and returned promptly with it. The bread was fantastic. We coupled the infused olive oil with a dab of balsamic vinegar, giving the bread a zap of extra flavor. My wife loves crab cakes, which we had already heard were great. She wasn’t disappointed. The crab cakes came with a lemon aioli sauce that complemented the flavor profile. Melissa suggested a balsamic reduction to couple with the cales as well. Fantastic! I had the veal picatta. It was served with my choice of spaghetti. The flavor and texture of the veal was perfect. Overall a great experience and we will return soon.

Even though we had reservations, table was not set for the four of us. The food was not good, just average. The Waitress was only focused on talking us into ordering the special so she could win a contest. The special did not live up to its introduction. We will not being going back. And will share our thoughts with others. Jean Ann

As a person from the North East Coast I have not found Italian that I am used to from home. The menu was the closet and familiar. The good was probably the best I’ve had in south MS. The service was good but not great. Our server needed a bus person for our table of 6 so dirty dishes weren’t sitting on the table so long. The rigatoni needed a spoonful of pasta water and a little butter. It was on the dry side. Calamari was outstanding. As were the mussels and artichoke appetizers. Chicken parm was very good. Clams and spaghetti was a little different then what we are accustomed to but taste was very good. All pasta was cooked perfect. Cannoli was very good with a nice touch of citrus. We will definitely go back.

The wife and I went for an anniversary and it could not have gone any better. We left our appetizer and meal choices up to the chef and it turned out amazing! We can’t wait to go back.

Our calamari appetizer was good. My bucatini carbonara had pieces of raw onion in it, the carbonara sauce was bland and the meat did not taste like pancetta. Our server was very attentive but I don’t think I’d ever go back again.

Early lunch at Mangiamo provided a quiet and inviting atmosphere, lovely view of the water and boats, a delicious selection of foods, and a most congenial server. Very happy to dine there again.

Had drinks at the bar prior to our meal. Nice bar, excellent old fashion and great service. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was outstanding. Nice quiet atmosphere. Didn't have it but the pizza looked and smelled fantastic. Our new favorite restaurant.

We ordered a drink that they apparently didn't have all the ingredients for but they served it to us anyway. And did not admit the lack of ingredients until after I complained about the taste!! My Veal angel hair Alfredo was pretty lack luster.NO. And we literally played hide and seek with the Chicken in my husband's Chicken Alfredo!! Instead of where's the beef it was where's the chicken? Staff was amazing and great atmosphere. May try them again at some point but for now, it's a no.

My first visit to Mangiamo. Food was delicious, especially the crab cakes and the scallops. Server was very personable. She made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Definitely plan to go there again.

Too hot in that dining room! I could hardly eat my food while sweating. Went to restroom and that side of dining room was comfortable. I didn’t understand why they would seat customers on the hot side of restaurant!

Everything was great! The salad I usually get (caprese) was excellent the first time I got it, the last 2 times it was good but different. The scallops on risotto was good but the risotto was different too, added onions and squash. Go back to the original recipe!!!

First time eating here and will definitely return. Austin did an excellent job as our server. We shared an appetizer and each had a main dish. Shrimp and grits were delicious. Carbonara was equally good, not too heavy. Wife said their martinis were excellent. Look forward to trying their pizza. Too full to try dessert but they looked amazing!

The Hostess weren’t cheerful, reservation seating didn’t work even with vacant seating wait for table for two at the end of the night was closed, food was terrible had fettuccine chicken was dry also had lasagna overcooked too much cheese, noodles fell apart, bread was toasted too hard! Overall a bad experience would not recommend! Visited on Mother’s Day!

Our second visit was disappointing. Store bought Cesar dressing that was used with too much liberality. My pasta was just ok and the chicken on it seemed like it might have been previously cooked and warmed. It was very dry. The service was better than our first visit but the music was odd for a nice Italian restaurant, 50s rock and roll not a good choice. Overall not worth the money.

We went for an early dinner before my daughter's dance recital. We had a total of 10 people in our party and had a great experience! The food was delicious and our waitress was great! The spinach and artichoke dip was so good and I split the chicken parm with someone. The chicken was so good and the noodles had the perfect amount of sauce. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!
