    Empty restaurant, but the host decides to sit the only other people to walk in right next to us. I tried the duck 3 years ago, it was fantastic, but this time the duck was meh, not worthwhile. Service didn’t feel warm and positive.

    It was just “okay”. It took a long time for our entrees to arrive and the menu description of some of our items were not what was served. We were adjacent to a very loud wedding party which made it difficult at times to converse at our table. My steak, however, was delicious but I didn’t like being told which order we were allowed to order in!

    Our waitress was very kind. I think we caught them on an off night. Service was very slow we were there almost 2-3 hours and only had an app and our meals. We sent our appy back as it just tasted like salt. Waited for our drinks and food for over 45 mins. When our food came the fish was great but it was luke warm and the rest of the plate was ice cold as if it came out of the fridge. Was really looking forward to it and I'm sure we caught them on an off night but was the worst meal we had during our week in Banff and the most expensive. Thankfully she did take off our appy which we greatly appreciated.

    I went here for my birthday and ordered the filet Mignon Oscar style with crab topping and “mixed medley” side vegetables. I was disappointed that there really was no crab at all on top. I was expecting actual pieces of crab meat as I have ordered this dish at several different restaurants, but this topping was a thin liquid bernaise sauce and the only pieces were onions. I could taste a hint of crab in the sauce , but definitely no pieces of crab to eat. Not worth the extra money.I asked the server where the crab was and he said that is how it is served. The steak was good ,but not outstanding. The vegetables that came with it were asparagus.. which I have always had served with filet Oscar. But I would not consider it a vegetable medley. I was given a free dessert for my birthday which was very nice, and it was good. The service was good.

    We were treated very well from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We set the pace and never felt rushed. We had the surf&turf for two (@mp) we were a bit shocked that market price was $170...it was excellent and it was a special day but that felt excessive. Still a positive experience

    Best steak in a long time and we are from beef country. Duck was awesome too. Loved the lower table with lounge chairs after a long day outdoors!

    Great Restaurant, we ate there 20 years ago not much has changed. Great food, Bar, and Service. Get the Hallibut or Trout. You will not be disappointed

    Reserved a table here to celebrate our anniversary and while our meals were excellent, we found ourselves back out on the street less than an hour after the time of our reservation - we felt very rushed. I wasn’t even able to order a glass of wine to accompany my dinner because our mains arrived five minutes after our starter. Definitely not the relaxing, romantic dinner in the mountains we were looking for. Won’t be back.

    Booked the restaurant about a month in advance since we had a party of 6 (it’s easier to book parties of 2 or 4, but larger than that, you’ll need to book a bit far in advance). The restaurant is pretty large, with both ground floor and upper floor dining areas. We walked up a grand staircase to get seated on the upper floor. Our server was very attentive, accommodating, patient, and fast! We ordered several appetizers, mains, and desserts. The artichoke dip with a slightly crispy pita was wonderful. The surf and turf was large, enough for 2-3 people to share. Our waiter recommended the sticky toffee dessert, and while no one in our party were a fan of toffee (teeth problems), the waiter convinced us it’s not what it sounds like and it was worth getting. And it did not disappoint — it was actually a soft sponge cake (which we like) made with dates! (And a scoop of ice cream on the side). The other dessert we got — the hot chocolate soufflé — is like a molten lava cake in a ramekin, also very good but the sticky toffee dessert that the waiter recommended was definitely more unique. Overall amazing experience.

    I read reviews on open table prior to booking..reviews were mixed but I decided to take a chance.. my husband had halibut and he thought it really not tasteful nor worth the price of 48$..I had bison short rib because I wanted to eat local..again disappointed…I could have done as good a job myself..I eat out to treat myself..I want something elevated..would not return

    We had the indigenous menu which was wonderful. An item was substituted but the menu was not revised along with the chefs perspective. It was a very special meal. We enjoyed it. I was saddened to hear that the chef will be replaced. It left me feeling like the program is not being appreciated.

    We had an excellent experience! First of all, the service was incredible. They made recommendations, they were attentive, and did not rush us. This was our best stop in Banff! Food was amazing and the cocktails were great! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!

    Wurden freundlich empfangen und zu einem schönen Tisch am Fenster geleitet. Mojito Cocktail nicht zu empfehlen, die Wein Auswahl recht gut, Red Rooster hat zu den Fleisch Gerichten gepasst. Tenderloin Steak sehr gut, Bison Braten gut.

    We had heard good things about this place but left somewhat disappointed. I had the halibut which was nice but the the vegetable accompaniment was over seasoned and pretty much inedible. My wife sampled it and agreed. She enjoyed her chicken dish. We were seats in small alcove adjacent to the server station; quite unremarkable. The waiter was pleasant but disappeared without leaving proper cutlery, and forcing our neighboring table to self serve a water refill. Just not impressed with the total package

    We came here for the second time for my brothers birthday. Deana was our server and she is an excellent server. The food, ambiance, and services was excellent and we will go again next time we are in Banff.

    We dined here twice on our visit to Banff. We enjoyed the chowder, spring rolls, and signature mussels for a late evening meal. Soup was the highlight. Oscar filet and Halibut for a Friday dinner date, both dishes were outstanding, and we cleaned our plates. Finished with sticky toffee pudding (one of my favs) and after dinner drinks. We would go for a third time if we were here longer 👍

    Great to have a private room for our group of ten - so we could hear each other, and have the chance for proper conversation. Everyone enjoyed their food - especially being able to try some local specialities. Our server was brilliant, steered us away from suspect menu choices, always cheerful and helpful ( why can’t I remember her name?!)
