Service and environment were great. Biscuits were wonderful. Wife and I both ordered ribeyes that were lacking seasoning and the proper cook temperature. Thankfully the wine saved the evening.
The waiter didn't even acknowledge my birthday even though the greeter told him. We seen our server about 2 times within the hour of us sitting there. The food was gross and they had the nerve to charge me 20% gratuity for 2. That was my first and last time going there.
Great dining experience the host, servers were great. The food and wine selection was excellent.
The food was presented well and delicious. Pricey from what we are used to in Beaufort County.
Maui overcooked and they add on a 24% "tip" fee automatically. A restaurant that benefits from being the only option.
Amazing food and amazing service. Our waiter was truly one of the best!
For the cost the food should taste better. The only this pretty good was the appetizer of calamari we ordered.
Had a wonderful dinner our server Jon was amazing made the experience so nice. A must try are the Brussels sprouts delicious.
Underwhelming. Terrible first impression of the Château Elan. Room with vineyard view was hot. Drink service was unbelievably slow. We waited 30 minutes to receive a drink. Server was polite. However, there were only two servers for the entire restaurant so individual customer attention was limited. Female bartender had no sense of urgency when fulfilling drink orders from the bar. Also, very disappointed that bar closed at 9pm. Will not be back and will not recommend.
Food was delicious, staff was kind, but we had to wait 45 minutes on our charcuterie tray ~ it was quite loud as it is adjacent to a winery. I was disappointed at how slow it was.
I've been to Chateau Elan numerous times and we even got married there. They really to work on improving their menu options. We celebrated Father's day and my husband wanted to select from seafood options. They serve no other options outside scallaps, mahi mahi, calamari (fried), and lobster pasta. When we received his Mahi Mahi, it was severely overcooked and the waiter just said oh and did not recommend the prepare it again. The remainder of the table ordered burgers, salads, and one steak. We paid $350 for an unsatisfactory meal and wished we felt like leaving the property to go to a different restaurant. We didn't because we were staying on property that night. Lastly, our food took FOREVER to come out and there was no consideration for that. It was not busy at all.
This is my last time at this restaurant and I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone unless it's your last option. It's overpriced for not great quality.
Great service from bob and the young ladies with short black hair.
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Marc restaurant at Chateau Elan last Saturday. The food was delicious and a good value for this fine dining restaurant. We thought the service was a little slow especially since the restaurant was not operating at max capacity. We arrived on time for our reservation at 7:00 p.m. and did not leave until 10:00 p.m. There were several other large parties which might have taken more of the server's time, not sure. We were celebrating with another couple, so, we weren't too upset that our dinner lasted so long, but there were a few times we were wondering when the cocktails would arrive, or when we would get the main course. All in all, I give it 4 stars.
The Marc was good, not great. We have eaten at Capital Grille and Frankie's, and this was not in the same conversation. The food was just ok and the service could have been better. The price did not meet with the quality.
Great place if you want a romantic dinner. Would definitely return to Dine again
Food was good but not great. A bit overpriced for what we got. The service however was outstanding.
The appetizer of Brussels sprouts was amazing !
We were pampered by Marc's beautiful hostess Alina as soon as we've entered the place. It was my birthday celebration, so she notified the staff and we got a complimentary champagne, such a nice touch. The menu was limited and prices ridiculously high, but the service was amazing.
Over priced for the cost and the price for wine is inflated when compared to the cost for the same wine across the hall at the tasting room.
Sadly, the food was mediocre at best.
Disappointing for the highest level of restaurant at resort. The service seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. Had to continually get waiter attention for basic attention of more water, additional wine, salt and pepper, etc
The serving staff were very attentive and professional. My husband enjoyed his steak. My stuffed portobello mushroom was just OK; it lacked flavor.
We appreciated the COVID 19 precautions being taken by the staff.
My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, biscuits were very good. The lobster ravioli was also very good.
Service was great, food was great - but the dinner was very slow. Our server(s) were super attentive, but the drinks and food were slow to come to the table. Otherwise everything was great and we would definitely eat there again.
I really really wanted to enjoy this experience. Especially because the grounds are so beautiful. Unfortunately, it didn’t stack up to the hype. We ordered the shrimp pasta and the pork chop with a loaded baked potato. We also both had salads to start - a Caesar and a wedge salad.
My friend kept adding salt and pepper to the pasta. Our server had described it as a garlic lemon cream sauce but it was actually a light broth-like sauce. According to her, it lacked flavor and by the looks of it, it seemed as if everything was tossed in a bowl together but the dish didn’t seem cohesive.
My pork chop was luke warm at best and I had asked for it medium but it was very clearly cooked all the way through. It had likely sat in the window. And I’m not sure how it was cooked but I was expected a pan sear whereas this was likely baked, no crispy edges. The baked potato was fine, tough to ruin it.
They offer complimentary rosemary biscuits with butter and honey. They’re pretty tasty but nothing to rave about in my opinion.
Overall, we were quite disappointed with the meal. Neither of us finished our food and we were pretty hungry. Very unusual for me to not eat everything lol.
Our bill was about $135- I’d save your coins on dinner and enjoy the wine tasting across the hall for $35 and maybe have a few small plates like the Brussels sprouts.
The food and ambiance do not equate the price. Food was OK, at best. Not nearly worth the price we were willing to pay. The restaurant is open to the winery with people coming in and out. The noise level was that of a Sports Bar. Actually, this space would be better served as a Sports Bar. The server was kind, but not necessarily knowledgeable. We love Chateau Elan, but won't visit Marcs again. To others ….. don't bother.
Could not ask for a better birthday! Service and food was simply amazing!
My husband & I are gluten free. The server seemed to know this since he brought us GF bread. I said “So you know we’re GF?” He said “Yes”. A few minutes later he brought more bread (a different kind), we ate it and asked where they got it be Cait was the best GF bread we had ever had. He said it was NOT gluten free!! I asked why he would have brought us bread that had gluten and he said he thought only one of us was GF. I was up all night long with severe stomach cramps. I have not hat gluten in almost 10 years. This was so preventable!
The food and service were so good that I hated to end on that note. It was just a really bad mistake.
Worst service I have ever had. Food was not very good and order messed up. So many things went wrong with this dinner it's to much to list. Not worth $350. Ripped off.
Do not order the roasted chicken it is like shake and bake. The food quality did not measure up to the price. The bread was red lobster cheddar biscuit mix And the cheesecake was clearly premade and probably from a frozen box. The restaurant is beautiful but we were seated in the very back by an outside door. The service was fair but again not good enough for the price we paid.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good. The menu was fine, but non of us cared much for the food.
This was an awesome experience!!! Everyone was so nice and exceeded my expectations!
The food was fantastic. It's pricey and all served individually. Price would be more worth it if entrees came with sides or salads and didn't have to be bought in addition too. Bread while waiting would have been a nice touch as well. The taste was fantastic though.
The food was horrible the prices are different online I paid for a steak meal my girlfriend didn’t eat.
The food was subpar,we were very disappointed to say the least it was very expensive for the cost. Our food order a Filet Mignon at $40(8 oz.) which was dried out, no presentation of the food( not even a dash of parsley) and my husband order lamb chops was not tasteful and no presentation at $45 for two lamb chops.
Will not recommend.
Outstanding food and service! Our server was simply amazing! They practiced social distancing and everything was still fun and enjoyable. Will definitely return.
Marcs is a nice restaurant with a nice ambience, however, the service was not good. Our server walked pass our table several times without acknowledging us, everyone else had water on their table - we did not. I had to ask for a refill on my water because our server was not attentive.
He would speak to all the other tables around us and seemed to purposely walk by our table without acknowledging us. My friend did not like the shrimp pasta, it seemed to be more of a soup than a pasta, and barely ate two bites. Normally, when a server sees that their customers didn’t eat their food they will ask about the quality of the dish, our sever did not. Another server collected our checks.
I guess when 20 percent gratuity is automatically applied you don’t have to work as hard.
Experience was good. Would have been nice if they served bread with the meal.
Marc Restaurant was very good! I ordered the NY strip steak with a loaded baked potato and it was great!!
Although we are understanding of the current guidelines that have to be followed, we felt short changed with our experience at Chateau Elan on this visit. We sat for 25 mins, not an exaggeration , our reservation was at 7 and at 7:25 all we had was 2 glasses of water. We will return yet will probably eat outside of the resort as the food and experience were not worth the amount of money spent for dinner.
My favorite part of dining at this restaurant was the enclosed patio, and the brussel sprouts. I went during dinner hours and I felt that the menu was limited compare to lunch options. I got the shrimp skewer with Mac and cheese. I had to send the shrimp back they were chewy and just didn’t seem fresh. My sister got the lamb chops and they were tasty but the portion was so small for the price. I would come back just for an appetizer (sprouts),wine, and scenery.
