Great food & wine for the price . Definitely worth it
We had such an amazing experience. Hassan waited on us and he was phenomenal and really made my fiancé's birthday special. Highly recommend sitting in the "outside" room it was a bit loud when we went.
Fabulous food, ambiance; and service!
Food was great and also the Attention!!! I will definitely come back with my wife and friends.
The lights on the enclosed patio were too bright! This was dinner... not surgery. Noise level was great- nice and quiet until four drunks were seated near us and yelled or laughed at the top of their lungs the remainder of our dinner. EVERYONE else around them were couples- poor seating selection. Our first time- food was great, but will not be back, the resort as a whole is open so anyone is allowed on property.. including the highschoolers who invaded the winery just to snaps homecoming photos- oh and scream during the wedding on the front lawn!
Food was delicious but service was poor. Our waiter did not check on us after taking our order.
Overall, we were disappointed with the Marc Restaurant at Chateau Elan. It started out positive. The staff was friendly upon arrival and we were seated pretty quickly. Unfortunately, once we were seated we waited at least 10+ minutes before anyone approached our table. This is never a good sign, especially at a small, upscale restaurant. The server did not apologize for our wait and in fact, barely spoke to us upon arriving to our table. We were all starving so we placed our drink and food order all at once. Our server forgot to bring our drinks for a good 15-20 minutes. My husband's salad arrived with his entree. Two of us had brussels sprouts that were lukewarm-almost cold. We were halfway through our steaks before our server even brought us our steak knives. On a positive note, I will say that the steaks were tender and flavorful and we all enjoyed them. Overall, I think we could have received better service and food at a nearby restaurant at half the price.
For what is supposed to be an elegant French chateau, this restaurant is akin to sitting on a back porch, on woven resin furniture. No ambiance, poor acoustics, extremely slow service. We were hoping for a romantic evening, but sadly not even an enjoyable outing.
Zero service- felt like I was at a fast food restaurant. Ambiance was too brightly lit and not at all what I expected for the exorbitant price. Do not recommend.
Tables were not socially distanced. When seated, I was looking directly into the sun (it was 6 pm). I asked the hostess for another table and she said, “it’s ok, in an hour the sun will set.” I made do by rearranging myself at a different spot but had to lean sideways to avoid direct sunlight. Paid over $200 (drinks, appetizers and shared entree). Not really sure it was worth that much. Seems overpriced. Drinks were tasty.
Great service and atmosphere!
Ruined my birthday celebration by giving subpar service that was not up to standards of a winery similar to Napa Valley which I have been to several times as a native Califonian. The service, restaurant manager, and waiter was horrible and had the audacity to charge gratuity on a drink for a party of 4 which is the only thing that was ordered before we walked out to dine somewhere else.
Went here for our anniversary dinner while staying at the Chateau Elan. Had clearly indicated it was our anniversary and requested an appropriate table. We were seated at a two top table facing the bar where large televisions showed women’s basketball throughout our dining experience. Did ask the manager to be seated at a more enjoyable table but sadly there really aren’t any.
Our food was actually quite good. Mussel appetizer is a must have! Marc is billed as fine dining but falls woefully short in service standards and ambiance. Service staff tried but just doesn’t have the polish you expect from the nicest restaurant on property.
Long wait time for over priced meal. 2 meals out of 5 had to be sent back. Nothing to write home about.
Only complaint would be that last call for drinks was at 9pm.
Food was pretty good, but the service was beyond slow. They did give us a free dessert, indicating acknowledgment at least.
great staff, very knowledgeable of the menu. made great selections for wine..
The service was excellent. The mussels were tasty. Pan-seared scallops were good but the oyster sauce was too sweet for me. The broccolini was wilted and not enough. The Caesar salad was wilted with too much dressing.
Amazing from the beginning to end. The servers were outstanding, the ambiance is unique and quaint, and the food is soooo good!
Great service and delicious food!
The food was fantastic! Our waiter Joanna was amazing. She went above and beyond explaining the menu and answering any questions we had. Overall, our anniversary dinner was exceptional.
Dinner was terrific at Marc Restaurant. We ate on the patio. Hassan and Deepak were our waiters and did an outstanding job! The service was impeccable and our food delicious. I had Sea scallops w/cremini mushrooms on polenta. The sweet sauce on top was delightful! Nancy was my wine choice=perfect! My hubby had a Chicken Caesar salad which was delish as well. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake...yum! This restaurant gets 5 stars. (The only drawback was 4 ladies talking obnoxiously loud. With the great background music, it was a bit unsettling but we know Marc could not help this.) Next time we will request seating somewhere else unless the weather is pretty and the windows are open. You will love this restaurant...try it!!
Great place for a quiet dinner with a beautiful view. Service was excellent and food delicious.
The food was amazing but the service was horrible. Thats all I will say about this place.
Great selection of quality dishes! Plenty to do around the chateau as well after dinner
Found the decor to be quite bland for an "upscale" restaurant. Food was very overpriced for the value received. The service was good. My husband and I both had an upset stomach the following day.
Our favorite go to restaurant
Great atmosphere ! Great service ! The Brussels sprouts are a must have
The food was amazing, the staff was so helpful and the facility was beautiful. I think it was the best steak I've ever had!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere is great!
The food, atmosphere and service were great. They made the birthday celebration special.
We had a fabulous anniversary dinner! The food was delicious. The mussels are a MUST, the herb biscuits are divine and the scallops were cooked to perfection. Definitely worth it! Also, service was spectacular, which is always refreshing (especially when gratuity is included).
Great experience and the food was so good.
The wait service and ambience of the restaurant was very nice. The appetizers was better than the entree. The food was over price.
Great service and good!
Great food, atmosphere And great customer service.
I took my mother here to celebrate her 70th birthday and we had a fabulous dinner! Our drinks and appetizers were wonderful and our main courses were absolutely delicious! They also provided a delicious dessert for my mom. Our wait staff was courteous and attentive. It was a wonderful evening and we would definitely go back again!
Always a great experience at the Marc!
Had Sea Scallops that were awesome and attentive service.
Great food (a bit pricey). Everyone was very polite and helpful. Ask for a table in the small room at the front. It has great views and is quiet.
What a disappointment! Celebrating a birthday st Chateau Elan and picked their "flagship restaurant" for the special meal. Poor service even though there were multiple waitstaff bumping into each other. Very slow!! My filet mignon was full of gristle and served on an unwanted bed of Heinz 57 Steak Sauce (Yuck! What a way to ruin a steak!!). Reservation was at 8pm, but they started closing down around 8:30, so we felt rushed to finish up our meal. We will not be going back and do not recommend Marc's. I think the poor/slow service is a result of their automatic 20% gratuity - there is no incentive for the waitstaff to provide good quality service since their tip is guaranteed. Such a shame as we routinely tip more than 20% for good service.
