One of our favourite restaurants in the city; always good!
You’ve got to try the 4 Cheese Gnocchi- I’ve already had it twice this month. That and the Capresse pizza and a Misto salad left 3 of us pleasantly full. We did mention it was a birthday but no cake for me!
The best fresh Italian food around
Our first dinner out as a family in months because of CV19 and glad we chose Marcello's. It was mid-week and pretty early (5 PM) reservations so there were only a handful of other tables but the service and food were both outstanding. Also, without knowing, we were there for Happy Hour so $5 house wine was a welcome surprise.
Important to note that we felt very comfortable with the CV19 protocols in place. Well spaced tables, plexiglass separating the tables, staff with mouth shields, etc.
We have been fans a long time and will be regulars for years to come.
We ate outside in cold weather but we were honouring Bonnie Henry's and Reika Gustafson's advice about entertaining in restaurants and choosing our comfort level.
Food is really good. The ambience is strangely like a cafeteria. A lot of seats in long rows in very little space. Can get pretty noisy too.
The braised beef ravioli is so good!
I asked for a 1/2 portion of Calamari and they could not accomodate the request, they brought it by mistake and took it back, maybe offer it to me for 1/2 price. Wej all ordered dinners and a salad so it wasn't like we were trying to save $ nor get something gratis...just saying. Our server, Pino, could have smiled once or twice too. That being said all else was wonderful!
Hostess was so welcoming and friendly and our waitress was great!! Food was amazing especially grilled calamari pizza was great too. We can’t wait to go back next time we are in Vancouver. Little Italy 🇮🇹 has a great vibe.
Comfortable eating outside with heater. Great spicy tuna burger; poke bowl; squid; fish and chips.
The calamari grill was delicious so was the mushroom truffle pizza...
Great foot and service
Lots of covid safety protocols & superb service. Pizza quite good & washed down with decent red house wine.
In a word: meh.
Also: way too much cheese on the pizzas, wow.
Came here for my brother’s birthday. Was not happy with the service, the first waiter that greeted me made me feel like I was judge because of my race. The entire time he ignored us, sat down and had to wait about 15 min to get our water. The first waiter kept avoiding eye contact because he didn’t want to help us. Will not be going back.
The server had very poor manners for restaurant service.
Very reasonable night out. Order two pitchers of beer and split a large pizza for 30 bucks. Can’t beat!
The food is just so good! Hearty, delicious Italian classics.
We went out for a Thanksgiving meal out. It was delicious.
Our first time there. Thanks!
Really lovely autumn evening out on the patio. Pizza was delish, pesto pasta was okay (a bit bland for my taste). Service was so great.
With Covid, the feel is a lot different due to the barriers between tables but that is now part of life.
The noise level was Loud
This place is awesome. The food is outstanding. The people working there are very friendly and always have a smile on their face.
Marcello is a regular place for our family. We go for most special occasions. This time we found the food to be slightly less spectacular than usual, but we were not disappointed. The service was as great as ever. I will always recommend.
Great restaurant. Great good. Service was excellent. No complaints it is one of my favourite places to eat on the drive.
Very good food. Excellent service. And a very nice interior of the restaurant kind of reminds me a bit of a cheesecake factory meets traditional Italian.
This place has either not aged well or maybe we hit it on a bad night. It's been many years since I stopped by, but I remember the liveliness of the place years ago and maybe it's not fair to judge it vs that in the middle of a pandemic. To their credit, they did seem well-equipped to keep guests safe with a safe-feeling check-in process and staff noticibly wiping down surfaces between guests. I wasn't a fan of waiting a full fifteen minutes after being seated to then get up and search out a waitress. I mean, get it together. Marginal quality on the food and drinks. If you go, I definitely recommend ordering a glass of wine, a bowl of olives, and a simple pizza. Don't go beyond that and keep your expectations low. Simple recipes with simple preparation. Not in a healthy way though... In a save-money way... The whole place had that vibe. The waitress was hard to understand, but seemed willing to help when she was around. Maybe this comes off as super negative. I don't know. Keep expectations on an even keel and it's probably not terrible as a place to chit chat over a glass of wine.
My wife and I don't go to Marcello often as it's generally $80.00 after tax and tip. We wanted something nice for our anniversary and this was our choice. It was wonderful, everything I remembered. And they have done a great job of keeping diners separated with screens so we felt relatively comfortable going there.
Our antipasti was the olive calde and fresh focaccia bread. For the main course I ordered the baked lasagne with bechamel and my wife had the cannelloni. Both were wonderful and filling. Add to that a glass of wine and we were very happy with our meals.
One thing, make sure to reserve your seat. We got in right away thanks to OpenTable but for those who did not make a reservation the wait was 45 minutes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Marcello's. We were there to celebrate a birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. The food, service and ambiance was exceptional...thank you!!
Excellent food. Large portions.
We were a party of 4. Everyone had a different meal and they were all fantastic.
Dinner was delicious! Grateful for the Veg options that were clearly listed on the menu. Service was good also. would absolutely come back.
Great food and service. Very clean and costumers feel safe. Good COVID19 protocols
The pizza is reliably good and the insalata mista is always great.
Great food, huge portions, very attentive service. Pretty loud
Our night was excellent, both food and service were spot on.
I have been to Marcellos many times in the past and loved the food. Unfortunately I can not say the same about this visit. My dinner which was supposed to be prawns and pasta cooked in olive oil came with a bland tomato sauce. The prawns were overcooked pieces not whole prawns. My husbands pasta which was tagliatelle with wild boar was dry and again overcooked. Although Marcellos was one of our "go to" restaurants it will be some time before we go there again.
Great good, service not much
Excellent food quality!
Overall it was a good experience. We liked the gnocchi. We ordered fungi con Tartufo, and it tastes good. Melanzane wasn’t heat up throughly, but we still ate it. Really good priced!
The food and wine were extremely great!
Maybe not for Valentine’s.... it took us an almost an hour to get the dishes to the table, while we watched multiple orders, taken after ours, being sent out to tables and take outs. I wasn’t sure if the heart shaped panna cotta was given out to everyone for the day or our server placed it in house because we waited for a while.
