Very charming and the food is outstanding (bit pricey but overall it’s worthy)!
The food was not good. We are not going back to this place.
We were transported to Eastern Europe - kind of like a quick stay-cation. Thank you Mari Vanna.
They had run out of chicken, which for a place known for its chicken kiev was disappointing. We had a few apps and left.
Beautiful dishes and atmosphere
Christmas Day late lunch. Fun authentic Russian food N decor. Great service. 5 stars.
Food: Everything from Borscht to Chicken Tapaka was mediocre. Soup lacks seasoning, and the chicken is dry. The only thing worth mentioning was the Napoleon cake, flaky, crispy, and the cream was beautiful, one of the best I have ever had.
Service: was non-existent. Our server didn't bother to check on us after we finished our main course and waited by an empty table to be presented with the Desert menu for 30 mins. I ordered a Moscow Mule and couldn't find a single person to bring me a straw. I had to tell the lovely busboy who cleaned our table to bring us the drink menu and the straw. The guy who took our order was running around in the lobby not attending any table.
On top of all that, a 20% mandatory Service Fee was added to our bill which is frankly laughable. I'd rather pay that 20% to that busser who I think deserves the respect from the customer.
Will not recommend Mari Vanna to anyone.
I just love this place
I love this place. Food was very good. There is a good selection of Russian soups: borsch, solyanka, okroshka... Their infused vodkas are must try. Their cakes are amazing!
The food is delicious.
And the service is comfortable
The foods and drinks were great! Beautifully decorated.
Very rushed. Unfriendly! Ignored my wife’s birthday
We were shocked have been to many Georgian restaurants in FL to etc this one definitely was disappointing. Overpriced for the quantity of food you get. Rip off Miami area Georgian restaurants are 100 times better worth your money. Shish kabobs had no flavor my husbands kabobs Russian style 💯 times better according to kids and I. And the clutter decorations was too much for tiny place. I would not go back nor recommend anyone. We were party of 5 bill over $220 for plates with only 4 pieces of meat no sides/bread. They also refilled my glass of water with a complimentary dead fly. Each dish over $30 not worth it. We left hungry had to go spend Again for dinner for satisfying food. Infused Vodka drinks only worth it rest not would recommend spend your money elsewhere if you want to get moneys worth for food.
I love Mari Vanna. Honestly one of the best restaurants in DC.
Daughter’s graduation from American.
They had run out of all chicken products, which for a restaurant known for chicken kievs is a pretty big disappointment. We had some apps and left. Call ahead.
Incredible food and service, authentic dishes and amazing taste. We love the cocktails and atmosphere. Our favorite spot in DC and NYC.
Best service and experience as usual! Delicious food and authentic atmosphere! Thank you!
It was wonderful!
Everything was fantastic! Loved the food. Service was great and loved the atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely return!
Great quality authentic Russian food, loved it and highly recommend!
Easy to get to location! Plenty of parking nearby! Food was delicious! Wonderful service! Loved the decor and ambiance of the whole restaurant! Private home comfort! Will be going back. Be sure and try the meringue with whipped cream for dessert!
Great food great drinks
Great food, friendly waitress. This place is getting packed quickly. We got a table on 2nd floor at 5pm and it was crowded around 6pm.
Will definitely recommend to friends.
Thank you, Mari Vanna, we will be back! 🙂
Excellent variety of vodka and excellent service.
Great Russian food (very authentic - my wife being Russian can attest). Service was great - but as it was very busy, wait staff was stretched. Decor is enjoyable and overall experience is great. A little pricey (given that most of the dishes are simple by nature), but probably worth that periodic dip into Russian cuisine.
Excellent food, atmosphere and experience!!
This place is a gem. The ambience is really nice and the food to match. A few favorites are the herring under a fur coat, beef stroganoff and grilled vegetables. Overall a wonderful experience.
The service was extremely slow and we had to get a manager several times.
My boyfriend and I came here for my 30th birthday as we had never had Russian food and we wanted to try it. The experience was amazing. We loved the decor and our table was set so beautifully. The food was phenomenal. We were both blown away by our dishes. The cocktails were also great. We are so excited to return!
Service was somewhat slow, but it is worth the wait. Both of our soups and main dishes were superb. I loved the eclectic dining ware sets.
Borscht, Chicken Kiev and Beef Stroganoff - This is how it should be done. Awesome!
We enjoyed the food and ambience . Authentic and delicious food!
Great place with authentic Russian food. Totally recommend to anyone. Waiting for the karaoke nights ☺️
Mari Vanna is now one of my favorite spots in DC. I love Russian and Eastern European food and this place really delivers. The cocktails are second to none!
Got the two dumplings appetizers since the Siberian Dumplings entree on the online menu wasn’t on the paper menu. Also got the Buckwheat side. All were delicious as usual. Service was a bit slow and inattentive.
Amazing traditional home cooked food. We had almost everything on the menu but jk really had a lot. We have been a few times and the food is amazing.
Service had more to desire. Even though most places are short handed and I am empathetic to that there were many cases of our server just standing around. In fact the table next to us waited 45 min for a drink order and left. Then the buzzer didn’t clear table fully and just threw duvet ware for main course in the center of the table. It was odd like we were at a dinner
But despite that my father who lived in Russia had a great authentic meal and caviar! It was delicious and I do recommend the place.
Visiting family in DC area with my wife who is Russian. Since marrying into a Russian family 4 years ago I have Russian food all the time. We took my daughter and her husband for their first Russian food experience. Everything tasted like home cooked Russian food. One of the best dining experiences in a long time. We will definitely come back!!!
Just like in Russia! Yummy
