   Great view, beautiful bar. I would try the sushi next time. Caesar salad was overdressed. Chowder was excellent. Grilled prawns were excellent.

    Went with a friend for the Dine Around Victoria menu. The flavour of each dish was perfectly balanced and I’m pretty sure the salmon was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

    Excellent service from the host Ella, our waitress Jasmine was pleasant and on top of it. The sushi waiter Callum helped bring food to our table and was very informative on our selected meals.

    Went and checked out the Marina for dine around and I’m so glad we did. We don’t usually venture downtown much less into Oak Bay for our dinners out but the trek was so worth it. The views are stunning, the service was top notch and the food was amazing. We had a fantastic night and will definitely be back.

    We went to the Marina for Dine Around 2023. Cocktails were yummy. We had the $55 3-course menu. We started with the bacon and scallops which were delicious. The steak was flavourful but as it was a lean cut it was a bit tough. The accompanying prawns were excellent and the plate was nicely presented. And of course you can’t beat crème brûlée for dessert. It was a great evening out with friends. Service was excellent as always! Note: To make the prix fixe work I would have preferred a smaller size of a better cut of steak - like a strip loin - and/or had no prawns.

    Ordered the sablefish. It was not seasoned with salt or anything whatsoever. The dish was extraordinarily disappointing… they lathered the salad overtop the beautiful piece of fish which is not ok, but worse to find out they did not even season the fish at all. The waitress’s response and lack of service was appalling. My boyfriend finished his entire dinner while I was sitting there waiting for her to come see how our dinner’s were. She didn’t come to check and I actually had to finally flag down a manager. The bathroom also was a disaster. Paper towels on the floor, soap all over the sink and counter, garbage full to the brim… After having a $47 sablefish dinner extremely disappointing, what was more shocking was to have a server not come check on you at all, but then make excuses and become snotty at the table. At a restaurant of this calibre, this was unacceptable. All in all, our experience was not something we would have imagined happening. I am shocked to say the least.

The server was dealing with her other tables which also needed her attention as she explained this as she apologized and tried to help you. Your partner was still enjoying his pasta as your dish was removed and offered an alternative. Your entire meal was compensated for as a gesture to satisfy your disappointment that evening.     Lovely evening at the Marina. We took advantage of the dine around 3 course menu that was being offered. The food was outstanding as was the service. Restaurant is well spaced out and comfortable. The view of the harbour at night was lovely. We will come again in the spring when its light out later to get the full effect.

    Nothing has changed at the Marina for about 20 years except value has decreased and selection is limited. Way to expensive for what you actually get. Wine by the glass prices are insane.

    Maria, our waitress, was friendly, efficient, accommodating, and cheerful. The food was excellent, as always. We had, as requested, a table by the window with a fabulous view. My only regret is that the delicious tarts that used to be on the dessert menu were not offered.

    We haven't dined at Marina Restaurant for about 3 years, and much has changed. The menu is fairly limited, and just a bit pricey. The menu hasn't quite figured out what/who it wants to serve, with a combination of burgers and rack of lamb ($42) and steak ($55). The abbreviated hours of operation (Wednesday to Saturday, with an 8pm closure) seems to have had an impact on the previously loyal clientele, as there were only 8 tables of diners (in a very large restaurant) while we were there last night. I'm worried that the restaurant may not survive if those numbers are typical. Location and ambience are still fantastic, and service was excellent.

    Our server was not a server. The restaurant used to be a destination, I can see why it was not busy this time. Too many choices of restaurants to have an experience like this twice, not going back.

    The first table that they sat us at was a tiny table that looked like a kids table at Christmas thankfully they moved us to another table. But it makes me wonder why other couples were seated at better tables? Food was average the wine expensive. You can’t beat the atmosphere however.

    our server had a supreme knowledge of the wine pairings for my meal. the selection and variety on the menu were outstanding. super nice spot for a couple or a larger table. can't wait to try the sushi menu.

    I have patronized the Marina Restaurant for several years. They have consistently delivered a high standard with respect to food and service, no small accomplishment. I find the atmosphere very pleasant if a little noisy. But compared to most restaurants now, it is pretty quiet.

    We enjoy the Marina and the meal we had last evening was excellent. My only observation was that the table we had it was virtually impossible to read the menu with out picking up the small candle and holding it over the various options available. Dining ambiance is important but so is having enough light to read the menu and then be able to view one's meal. Nothing wrong, from our perspective, with the menu albeit it would have been helpful if we could have read it. I ordered a rack of lamb which was superb and I would have enjoyed more had I been able to see what was on my plate . We usually have dessert at the Marina but decided to forego another course in semi darkness.
