Way too loud and we were way too old for this clearly youth-oriented brewery.

Don't know if responsibility rested with Mascot or with Open Table, but when I showed up at Mascot with a hard copy of my Open Table Reservation page, I was told that the Restaurant was booked for a private event. The option of joining four others at a picnic table on the roof didn't appeal, so we went elsewhere, for a pre-Jays meal. As a result, I cannot respond to the above questions. Now I find that the computer won't let me submit this without answering the questions that (as noted above) I cannot really answer. As I result, I am obliged to select random responses that have no bearing in reality (and that will skew your data, I'm afraid) simply in order to respond to your request for input. Consider the creative step of taking into account the possibility of a response such as this, where not all question can be answered.

The setup for the restaurant (indoor) area is fairly standard for a brewery taproom - industrial with the fermentation tanks in view, concrete floors and bottle shop at the front door. We had two servers for a group of four, which led to a couple of hiccups early on but smoothed out later. The room is very dark - windows high up and a lot of black coloured walls. And it was NOISY! Holy crap was it noisy!! I had to shout just to hear myself speak. This was due to the hard surfaces but also the music was just too loud. The food was great though. We had the Brussels, sunchokes, Korean rice bowl, mac and cheese, and cevice. All were well made and presented, and very tasty. Beer was great too with offerings in most styles. I might go back again to check out the rooftop patio, which we looked in on. But that was also very loud - possibly even louder than inside! Jeez!!

Great venue, so I would gladly go back for a drink (especially on the patio) but not for their food. Food- It was mediocre at best, small portions and nothing our party had was overly enjoyable. I personally opted for the gnocchi which was boiled and mushy (over done) but it did have a decent flavor (would’ve been a lot better pan fried.) The Mac n’ cheese were just ok, and the fried Brussels usually one of my favourite dishes were not good here, they were too oily and it was almost like the peanuts were added on top to absorb it. All the hype surrounding this spot I might’ve had my expectations set a bit higher, but even still I wouldn’t go back for food unless they announced a re-do for their menu.

Met with son from out of town for a meal prior to Blue Jays game. Beer selection and advice on selection excellent. The waitress was very knowledgable about menu items and her recommendations worked out to be just what we wanted.

This was my first time at Mascot. Mascot brewery made it easy to make reservations and there were no problems upon arrival wth the reservation. They made our party feel really welcome and helped accommodate us all. The drinks were amazing and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Will come back soon.
