Mastro's Steakhouse - Chicago
M Bar Piano Lounge - 4:00pm till ... Daily.
One of the best steaks you will ever eat. But you will definitely pay for it. Portions were very well sized. All steaks are alacart but the sides can easily be shared. Lobster buesqe was amazing as well. Very loud, we went for our anniversary and could barley hear each other speak.
Our professional server-waiter Kyle was superb! I could have dined off of the bread myself. As long as My Love was happy and enjoyed himself I was fine.
I received a gift card from a friend and took my wife here for her birthday and the service was amazing! Our waitress Carmen was fantastic. She was very knowledgable on the menu and didn't miss a beat!
Good food, dark room, respectful of time before a show.
Steaks were good. Too loud to talk my Seabass was very fishy
They did take it off the bill even though I said they didn’t need to.
For at least 3 of the last 4 times I have dined at Maestros, the second floor has had issue with regulating the temperature if you sit near the window or center of the room. There does not seem to be that same "blowing of air" if you sit by the wall.
Whenever we’re in town we go to Mastros, knowing we’ll enjoy a great meal our server, Kyle, was exceptional. I’d return & request him
Great value compared to many of the area's steakhouses. The sides are enough for four people to share, and my appetizer of Lobster Bisque was probably the best I have ever had anywhere. Service is beyond anywhere else I have been in the city since Nick's Fishmarket closed! My only complaint would be the noise level! The band was lovely, but maybe that's why everyone had to talk louder! A bit too dark as well, window blinds were randomly opening and shutting while I was there; it may have been nice to leave them open for people watching and to get a bit more light in the place.
Steaks were amazing; and the bread—best ever! Also, they were on schedule for our reservations, which is completely appreciated. When we make an effort to be on time, it was great that they were ready for us within a reasonable timeframe around our reservation.
The food is was fabulous. The service was excellent. My favorite place to eat in Chicago
Great food and our waiter(Parker) made it an awesome experience.
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding. We sat in the piano lounge. Piano bar not as loud/noisy as it used to be which was a good thing. You can tell the restaurant adjusted the noise level based on customer reviews. Drinks were well made. Still a bit pricey but that is to be expected for a restaurant of this caliber! Great time!!!
Phenomenal food, great atmosphere and constant service that is unmatched. Food is cooked to perfection. Food and wine is a little on the pricey side but it was well worth it!
We wouldn’t have minded the high prices if everything was absolutely delicious and it was a great ambience. However the food came out too hot and it had a very business casual feel. Not very intimate and romantic for a special anniversary dinner.
I rarely subnit critical reviews. This restaurant was on my "must try" list for a while now. Well overall it was quite disappointing. The steak was not of the quality you'd expect. It was not prepared as requested (asked for medium rare and got well done). It was overseasoned and very salty. It started when the lady who called me to confirm the reservations sounded like she was having a bad day and hated her job. The best part of this place was the service provided by our waiter. In one word MEH.
They were able to accommodate added guest to our reservation at the last minute! Food & service were amazing!
My husband and I really enjoyed our anniversary dinner!!!
Always a great time at Mastro's! Food was great and service was top notch as well. We will go back soon.
Great food and service, I would have rated better, but they were not true to the dress code they insisted upon reservation confirmation. We walked into the dining room and a flip flopped shorts was dining next to us. Not what I would have expected of a fine restaurant. They even pushed back at me when I complained and later comped the desert when realized I was right in bringing this up to them.
Our first time visiting this restaurant. Food was great. Service was poor. The waitress was missing in action throughout our dining. We paid far too much money ($300+) for such disappointing service. Unsure if we'll return.
Competent but not intimidating wine list. I didn't ask why, but there were many bottles of champagne in the display cases. The meat is wet aged so there is less waste and the chef turned out two bone-in ribeyes in Pittsburg perfection. The tomatoes and burrata were sublime. You can't leave Chicago without dining here at least once.
One of my favorite restaurants. Ask for Jane...she will not disappoint.
Excellent service, food and ambiance! We had a great time!
Our evening was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were very attentive and made an evening out among friends a memorable occasion.
Everything we had was a hit! Steaks, ahi tuna tostada, dream berry martini, garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, chocolate pudding cake and butter cake, just to make a few.
our waiter was excellent he really knows what he was doing
One of the best overall services i have had in a long time. The pacing was simply perfect. We were allowed to settle in. Not rushed. Not pressure - it was the perfect balance. recommended for any business meal.
The food was amazing and the service is second to none .. will be coming back soon
I love this restaurant I go for many occasions. The food is spectacular, and great atmosphere. This last visit for my boyfriend’s birthday our server was unpleasant but everything else was great. I give the restaurant 5 stars!
Great dinner, a bit noisy
A nice steakhouse to frequent often. Very nice restaurant with the perfect ambiance and delicious food especially the steak and corn...Martinis are great too.
Always outstanding! Live music a plus. Jeff is the best server
good service, good food, fun evening with a great friend!
I had the pleasure eating at Mastro's several times in Chicago and their other locations. I can tell you the food is outstanding. The seafood tower appetizer is truly amazing as our of course the steaks, side dishes and desert offerings. I have the opportunity to travel all over the country and have been to many steakhouses and Mastro's tops them all. No need to add any type of toppings to any of their steaks as the meat is tasty and tender by itself. This is truly a gem.
Robbie was great. Food was very good. We sat next to a group of 12 very LOUD business guys. Still it was an overall good experience. I had the bone-in filet. I would highly recommend it.
We were 6 out of 8 people and they wouldn’t sit us down until the other 2 came. Also I had the rib eye and it was very salty and a little over cooked. He rest was fine, my friends had the tomahawk and it was amazing.
My favorite steak house in Chicago. Everything is on point.
Dinner was a little too long for my liking on a Monday night.
My cousin and I dined together to celebrate some recent success. We ate in the lounge instead of the dining room. The service was good, wine selection was great, the food was amazing and the live music entertainment sounded great. We will definitely be back.
I’ve been to Mastro‘s a few times, both in Chicago and in Scottsdale. I’ve always been impressed by the quality of the waitstaff and the outstanding food. This trip was just kind of average. That just about sums everything up. The food was average, the drinks were average, and the service was average. It was a reservation towards the end of the evening and from the get go, the waitress seemed to be a little edgy. She was almost Condescending at times. The comment that comes to mind is “usually I will pour the rest of your drink for you, if you’re going to do it yourself, just make sure you hold the top of the shaker so you don’t pour it all over yourself”. I guess she assumed I had never poured myself a drink before. I have no problem paying for an outstanding meal, but I’m not a big fan of spending $300 for two people when everything is average.
Food was delicious and great server as well! Gave great recommendations. Only negative thing to say was we both order cocktails and I’m pretty sure they were 100% vodka and everything else in the drink was forgotten. Not to complain about how strong they were but it would have been nice to have a little flavor as we were expecting. Other than that small disappointment we will definitely be returning again maybe just order wine next time!
