Everything was excellent. The only downside was we had to have outdoor dining and it
Service and food were great. Not being able to eat inside but instead out in the cold sucked. Overall a decent experience.
Maybe some space heater or those patio deck heaters would help
didn’t meet my expectation, how ever the butter cake was excellent.
It was me and my fiancé’s first time here for my birthday The salmon was not all the way done and i ordered a steak well done and when they brought it out it was still bleeding in the middle when i cut it.
This place was an excellent experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and due to traffic we were late to our reservation, they still accommodated us. We were escorted to our seat, and immediately a server greeted us, our drinks came out rapidly and the food was very timely as well. It was so hot it was sizzling, the meal was amazing and the environment was as well. Every one there dressed well and tone was attractive. The meals were pricey but it was definitely worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The service is what really blown my mind! Awesome environment.
The team consistently goes above and beyond to Dazzle and Delight! Thank you!
Management & hostess should really work on their customer service. The only reason I gave two stars was because our actual waiter Nick was actually pretty cool. From the initial phone call to confirm my reservation to walking through the front door and not being greeted as the hostess chatted away on the phone it was very clear to me that this wasn’t going to be a very pleasant experience. If it wasn’t my dad’s birthday I most definitely would have went elsewhere. The food was just ok. It was very rushed. There were about 3 instances where someone picked up a plate or fork that someone was still using. The most disturbing part about this was that the place was basically empty. I’m not sure if this was due to management pressuring them to turn tables or just super poor timing but it was definitely NOT fine dining. I wouldn’t be surprised if it did come from management as I had a not so nice conversation with a rude and narcissistic manager when confirming my reservation and he went on and on about their ridiculous policies. You would think they would be trying to bring money in with the purposed shut down, instead they are the poster child for where not to go. It’s very unfortunate the lobster mashed potatoes used to be one of my favorites :(
Mastros was wonderful as usual. The food was excellent as well as the service. It’s one of our favorite places to eat when we visit DC.
First time visit, and yes, as Arnold Schwarzenegger said, I’ll be back! Very romantic and nice ambiance. Very pricy if you aren’t prepared to spend $ on your cuisine. Cost us $500 for two ppl and that was only one drink each. Still loved it!
The restaurant was beautiful and the service from our waiter was excellent. The only con to my date was that the food took over an hour to get to the table. I’m not sure why that was because the restaurant was not crowded. The food itself was just okay compared to other steakhouses in the area it wasn’t my favorite. Overall I would not be returning.
Absolutely by far one of my best dinning experiences. Worth every penny..
Celebrated my oldest 19th Birthday here... and I must say we were all pleased with our food selections!!!
1 Blackened Chilean Sea Bass
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Lobster Mac and cheese
Crab Cake appetizer
Bread Service... the pretzel bread was soooo good
Service: Our waiter was ok he wasn’t attentive but the manager made up for his shortcomings by having my sons steak cut into bite sized pieces since his wrist is broken. Our glasses ran low on water several times and I asked for more bread which we never got prior to leaving.
I even showed the waiter a long piece of hair on the tablecloth and recommended who ever folds them to wear hairnets but he didn’t seemed bothered nor did he apologize.
However the food was amazing!!
My husband and I went out to celebrate his birthday. We had an enjoyable evening. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Thanks Mastro’s for an memorable experience and evening.
Drive several hours away to experience a great night of dining for my husband birthday. Upon entering customer service was not welcoming at all, sitting had to ask several times for utensils. After finally getting utensils my party of 4 was only given butter knifes, meanwhile our appetizers did require forks. Not only were we sitting for over 20 mins we were finally received our beverages never asked would we like bread nothing then finally another waiter came over and ask would we like bread the assistant general manager was very rude not only to customers but can tell he had his workers working under stress. Horrible experience, food was great. I would never visit this location ever again. Maybe in another city.
Arthur was a great server
I visited Mastros for my girlfriends birtnday. Upon our arrival the manager was very rude and barely greeting us before telling us that our clothes were against the dress code although what we had on wasn’t stated in their policy. Additionally, the steak tasted burnt and left my stomach feeling not so well. The restaurant mentioned that a menu could and would be made for her birthday but after the encounter with our manager they said due to covid I could no longer get the menu although on the phone they stated I could. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Was denied to sit when 4/6 of the guests arrived
Had to wait inside the cold
Covid and no live music has
Awesome! Ask for Nicole and Melvin.
Great experience! Service was great!
Management could use some training.
A little expensive, but steaks and sides are so big that you may be able to share. My wife and I shared one steak and one side and it was plenty.
It was an excellent experience! What a GREAT way to spend my 48th birthday!!!
First time dining with you all. When I pulled up to restaurant I was not sure of anything. After seated, everyone their were very professional and polite. I have already made it known to family we have to dine again. Even in this difficult time you all were the best. Looking forward to dining again in the future. Kudo to ALL at the Mastro's Steakhouse - DC
Things did not get off to a great start. The wine list shows a 2014 Brunello. The bottle they served me was a 2015 vintage.
The menu listed an eight ounce and a ten ounce Japanese A5 Wagyu New York strip. I asked for the ten ounce steak. The server informed me they only had a twelve ounce portion available, which was not on the menu. Of course the price was $25 more. Mind you, this was 45 minutes after opening for the day so they should not have just run out of the eight and ten ounce steaks. And, these are (or should be) single-use paper menus. They don't have a laser printer on-site so they can produce an accurate menu each evening?
Nonetheless, the heirloom tomato and burrata cheese salad was very good and a decent-size portion.
The steak was amazing, cooked exactly to the temperature ordered and full of flavor. Yet, twelve ounces is a lot for a cut with so much marbling. If twelve ounce steaks were all they had, I would have preferred they cut them in half and sell a six ounce Wagyu at a slightly higher price per ounce. For comparison, I love bacon, but doubt I could eat twelve ounces at one meal. The A5 is like the beef version of bacon.
For dessert, I had the fresh berries. They were marvelous.
Service was satisfactory. Polite but not very attentive. While I appreciate the glass not being over-filled when having a bottle of wine, I had to pour it myself twice during the meal despite each server appearing to have not more than two tables. At one point, someone actually refilled my sparkling water but left my wine glass empty.
Overall, it was a good meal but my experience here didn't nearly come up to the level of the price point. Despite the amazing A5 steak, I just cannot say I enjoyed my meal here more than Morton's or Joe's Seafood etc., or the Occidental Room, just a few blocks away. Not bad, but it just didn't seem worthy to me of a $400 check for one person before tip.
From Valet parking to seating was a breeze. No words could describe the evening epic comes close and queenie was the best!!! We will return very soon
One of the best restaurants I've been to thus far. We will definitely be coming back.
We went for my husbands birthday he really enjoyed everything.our server Ren and his team was awesome we can’t wait to return.
I love this place my husband and I was there for our wedding celebration. The food is good service on point. The food is just expensive but is worth the price.
Great place if you’re looking for fine dining, expect to pay big.
Absolutely amazing as usual. The staff was attentive. The food was great still best steak ever!!!!
Service was great. We ordered wayyyyy too much food for four of us.
The definition of excellence. Mastros never ceases to amaze from the moment you sit down to the last nite of food.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress and the team that served us were on point during the entire dinning experience. The atmosphere is really nice and allows for conversation without having to talk over a lot of ambient noise or loud music. The menu is pretty good, but I would have loved to have seen a double cut pork chop on the menu. Their prices might be a tad higher than similar restaurants. My steak (Bone-In Ribeye) was cooked as requested (medium) and was juicy, well seasoned and quite tasty. The cocktail prices are somewhat high compared to similar restaurants. But there is a good selection of both cocktails and wines. The warm butter cake is very good. We just wished we were told it was big enough for two to three people.
Overall, we had a very nice dinning experience and I'm sure we'll make a return visit.
One of the best restaurant s in the DC area
It was ok nothing to go on about. Heard the cake was good but was to full to try it. Make sure you are dress to impress cause they will say something.
Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Food was amazing. The drinks were plenty. Definitely a lot of food (family style) for the price. Needless to say I am bringing some home.
