Our group of 3 really enjoyed our lunch experience at Match. The salads were fresh, tasty and generously portioned. We shared salt & pepper wings as an appie and were pretty impressed. Given that we were there on a weekday at midday, it was not surprising that the restaurant was not very busy. We also enjoyed our wine & cocktail. The only minor issue was that the perfume worn by our server was quite heavy/obvious. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed out lunch here & will return!

Came in during lunch on a weekday with a few friends and nearly had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Good ambiance and friendly atmosphere. Food was great and reasonably priced. Service was quick though we couldn't locate our server when we needed assistance. Would definitely return again.

The only decent thing about this place is the convenience when going to a game at Rogers. The food is not good and the service is even worse. We went Saturday night (it was our 3rd time - I don’t know why we keep punishing ourselves). The first time the server brought the food, the bun on the hamburger was so hard it was inedible. The 2nd time it was the wrong toppings but we didn’t have enough time left at that point to wait any longer. Drinks took forever to come, we had to ask for water 4 times, and then we waited 20 mins for her to come over with a debit machine to pay. The bill amount was wrong. The server didn’t apologize for any of it. It was awful.

Very few gluten-free options.
Burgers have bread crumbs in them.
Chicken club has wheat in the marinade.
Caesar dressing has wheat.

I had to go with my fourth choice and get a green salad. The salad was good and the waitress was aplologetic but I was still very disappointed at the lack of GF options.

I won’t be back.

Had an awesome experience before we went to our concert. The waiter and waitress we had were just wonderful. Will go back again very soon. Food was really good as well.

First of all they didn’t check off that we came for our reservation. So Opentable sent me a message about missing reservations. I made a point of telling the waitress we had made a reservation so that this wouldn’t happen. Second of all the waitress seemed very troubled to seat us and made a very snarky comment when I said we had a reservation but were 5 mins late. And, I could literally see her butt cheeks out the bottom of her skirt. No one wants to see your butt on a Sunday morning- especially in a family restaurant. Then there wasn’t any brunch even when the website advertises brunch sat and sun 10-2pm. When we inquired about brunch the waitress did not apologize or explain why there was no brunch. She just said there was an all day breakfast menu item... that wasn’t even on the menu. The wait staff and managers had no communication. We had multiple people serving us and taking our orders. It was very confusing for everyone involved. I’m really disappointed in the service, how the wait staff and managers speak to the guests and lack of brunch. The food was ok. But nothing worth coming back for. Overall, my experience does not ever make me want to dine at this restaurant again.

We always enjoy the food but were disappointed when we were given the brunch menu and then told it was too late to order brunch when the waitress came to take our order. The waitress did ask if the kitchen staff if they would allow us to have the brunch menu but with the upcoming hockey game it was too busy for that. She also did apologize for the mistake. The meal was great otherwise.

We went before the Oilers game. It was crowded. Our server was horrible. However the food and drinks were fine so I would go back and see if I got a better server. I think on game days, when it is that busy, they should have their best staff on and if she's one of their best Oh Boy!!!

Came in during lunch on a weekday, had their pasta special for $10! Amazing deal. Everything was great, except the service lacked a ton. Server never checked up on us after serving our food. Never re-filled waters or followed up. Almost felt like she was rushing us out, didnt even ask if we wanted the bill. Just gave it to us. It wasn't even busy, wasn't half full.

Service was quick for our table of 4 before an afternoon Oilers game. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. All the meals were very good considering it's a sports pub. Filling and decent price.

Server M fails to read reservee’s requests on OpenTable plus clueless about Daily specials. This was a special occasion, thus server M unsure what to do and has to ask manager whom I declined as server M displayed no interest. Had to notify server M x2 bill incorrect and gave some else’s bill plus wait about 15 minutes for Server M to rectify bill. How is it possible to give an incorrect bill when there are 2 other tables? Giving someone else’s bill indicate a lack of attention and questionable work ethic. A performance review for server M is highly recommended.

We arrived at 11:35 and they had given our table away (had reservation) luckily it wasn't busy. The service was very slow. They confused our order 2 or 3 times. However, we went during dining week and the value for the amount of food was incredible. Took a while to get the bill and pay. I would be careful if trying to go over a 1 hour lunch, otherwise it's fine.

Edmonton's Downtown Dining week menu brought us here and we were pleasantly surprised by the very tasty food. Great value and generous portions. The casino atmosphere isn't really our environment and the service was just ok. They brought our appetizer, main course, and desert (with ice-cream) all at the same time - strange.

Your customer service really sucks! We were told the specials by the host, only to find out they were not the specials by the waitress. She proceeded to tell us the special was not on the menu for the evening and that is was pizza...only to find out that there was no special. After our food was served, she did not come back to check on us until our meal was done. At which time she did not take away our dirty plates. No water was offered to us. Had to wait to get our second drink until after that meal. 15 minute wait fir the bill as well.
Terrible service!

For 4 martinis (girls night don't judge haha) an appy and my main dish plus tip, my total came to $65. Which really I found reasonable. Drinks were on sale for $7 each (Originally $11). I Ordered the pretzel with mustard dipping sauce to start and share. The pretzel itself was good, but next time I will be getting the cheese sauce instead as I found the mustard too grainy to really dip the pretzel in and though I am a fan of mustard, this one was not for me. For my main I ordered the stuffed meatballs and pasta. The fresh basil was really a nice touch, the meatballs were good (pretty much just ate them) but I did find the pasta texture a bit like chef boyardee style. Honestly still not a bad dish though! I would probably order it again. A couple of friends had the chicken apple brie sandwich and loved it. They had live music that night and he was lots of fun, really engaging with the crowd. I did find service was a bit slow when it came to the drinks, but our server was very friendly and he always had a smile on his face. All and all we really liked the location and will most likely go back again.

The food was excellent outside of the coffee being cold. Both cups I received as I sent the first one back. Our server was distracted as it seemed most of the staff were. I have to say it was one of the worst for service. This was the second time I have eaten here and we went back because the first was awesome. Not sure I would go back anytime soon

Reservations for 5:30pm before a 7:00pm event...people meeting from Edson, Red Deer & Calgary for the event. We never got served our food and left at 6:50pm to attend the event. Can't rate the food if you don't get to eat. Not sure if it was a kitchen error or a server error but really did not appreciate having to eat dinner from the kiosks in Rogers Place. I have been here once before and the food was good...just really poor service, especially when we planned in advance due to being from out of town.

Nothing to get excited about. Went into the "lounge area", it much quieter and décor very nice. Has no atmosphere. The food was ok, they need to put more effort in there dishes. Mcdonalds need to show them how to make fries! The onion soup was black, the broth was overdone. And any restaurant that charges for mayo {$2.50} when you have a $70. bill is greedy. Wont be back too soon!!

It took at least 45 mins for us (3ppl) to receive our food and there were only two other tables in the restaurant while we were in there from 12pm - 1:30pm. When we finally received our food I can see it would have been an amazing meal for the price however was executed poorly. My salmon in the salmon burger was extremely dry and the fries received for two of the 3 dishes were undercooked and therefore had a raw gritty potato texture to them. I will definitely try this place again as I can see the potential of the food and atmosphere being a really cool place to go.

We decided to give Match a try as Jason Greeley was playing and we are big fans of him. He was great! He did a two hour show, lots of energy and overall an excellent entertainer.
Unfortunately, the food at Match fell way below our expectations. The fish and chips were overdone, the chicken sandwich's chicken breast was skimpy and overcooked with the gluten free bun being stale. One guest did enjoy the caesar salad.
We were pleased to catch happy hour for $4 drinks.
The service was great, very pleasant and accommodating waitress. :)

The service staff was exquisite. We came in earlier than planned but were seated promptly, and the staff gave us all the time we wanted to choose our drinks and go at our own pace uninterrupted.

The food itself left a lot to be desired. The spinach dip was fantastic, but both the hot chicken burger and the turkey club were rather bland and not really tasty.

Overall, a decent experience, but in no rush to go back to the burgers.

Saturday night before the Oiler game was my first visit to Match Eatery. It will also likely be my last.
I understand having a limited menu on game days (at least I'm assuming that's what it was) however there were ZERO grain-free options to eat. A simple steak sandwich (no bread) would suffice.
I'm not sure if the bartender on shift that night has ever made a dirty vodka martini before. If he/she has, he/she really needs to work on it. Worst dirty vodka martini I have ever had. I didn't finish it....thankfully the waitress was kind enough to take it off my bill.
Perhaps being that it's located in the new arena next to a casino I figured they would have more pub food type items, nachos at the least. I was wrong. Kind of a let down.
I will more than likely be eating at surrounding area restaurants next time I will be attending Rogers for an event.

We were warned they tend to be slow by numerous people but assumed they'd be prepared given it was a Saturday and Garth Brooks. We got there and were immediately told they were short staffed which was disappointing. And it was a concert night. We had peeked at the event menu ahead of time to pre plan knowing they're usually slow, but they changed the menu and all the meals the seven of us picked weren't on the menu. They were also out of wine glasses and brought dirty water cups to our table.

Our waitress was nice and trying her best. But we hated to feel rushed. Managers stood by the door and I feel should have jumped in.

Overall the food was good and if they can manage to be more prepared for event nights we may consider going back. But it took us two hours and all we had were Appis.

We were here on Valentine's Day before the Oilers game and had a terrible experience. First, the waitress had to come back 4 different times as they were out of many alcoholic drinks. Second, our appetizers took 55 minutes to arrive, and were then followed 5 minutes later by our entrees, giving us no chance to actually enjoy the appetizers. Our waitress was very slow to bring us drinks and refills and she seemed oblivious to the fact that we were upset regarding the long wait time. We pulled a manager aside during our meal and informed him how frustrated we were with the food and service. He thanked us for letting him know, but took no further action. We were charged full price for our meals and appetizers and did not even receive an apology from the waitress for the delays. On our way out we expressed to the same manager that we found it unacceptable that we were charged full price for appetizers we couldn't even enjoy. He offered no resolution and instead told us "come find me next time and I'll give you 50% off". Unfortunately, his offer is too late. We won't be returning to take him up on it. I would not recommend this restaurant! Save yourself some time and just enjoy the food sold inside Roger's place if you're on the way to a game!

This is the 6th time I have been here since opening hoping the service has improved over time. No such luck. We (table of 7) were repeatedly forgotten and the staff complained about and blamed each other. We were literally the only ones in the restaurant and by the end of our evening we just wanted out of there. I figured if I didn't go at lunch maybe the service would be better - I was wrong. There are many other good options with far superior service in the same area.
