Matchbox - One Loudoun
New at matchbox: brunchbox, our new unlimited brunch with small plates and drinks. Think: an endless selection of dishes like our avocado toast, breakfast nachos, chicken + grits and, of course, any of our small pizzas
In the heart of Loudoun County is our dining oasis with two light-filled levels--each with shaded outdoor patios for great people-watching.
This spacious location has indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate all event needs. The private Barrel Room accommodates 55 guests and comes with comfortable seating, a wood-burning fireplace and private wine coolers to store your favorite vintages.
Always great food and service. It was mobbed with prom kids and very noisy but actually we were impressed with how the staff handled it all - very cool calm and collected and still providing wonderful service! Pizza is a must at this place! Salads are great - they are very flexible with orders and sharing. We love it here!
We were there for brunch on Mother's day later in the afternoon when it wasn't too busy. It still took quite some time to get our orders. Two of us ordered the bruchbox ($30+, unlimited food, drinks not included) and we left without receiving all of the items we ordered. The check came quickly and was processed efficiently. It also showed that a few of the dishes we ordered were never sent in to the kitchen, which explains why we never received them. Overall, food was great but the service was lacking.
The “Brunch Box” tapas style menu $32/person with the $3 breakfast cocktails is a great idea but the execution needs improvement.
Food items was great, many options and full size pizzas is part of the “Brunch Box” menu. My only gripe was the amount of time it takes them to bring the food to your table. Your limited to “2 hours” and they ran out of items 1.5 hour before the end of brunch. I guess you could order a bunch of food at a time but it would of lessen the experience.
Enjoyed our first experience with Brunch - we will return.
New brunch box idea is fantastic all you can eat small plates is a great idea.
We tried the new chicken wings item...not their best dish. We don't recommend them.
It took over 45 mins to receive our food and NO it was not busy. Also our family of four were seated at a small center table instead of the larger side table for four people. Six of these tables were open and yes we ask to move but no. And yes I had reservations. Once our food finally arrived there was no room at all. No I will not recommend or go back again.
We had a great time, enjoyed our food and the experience, but it took a long time to get our food.
Mother’s Day, great service and food.
Jennifer took excellent care of us!
I love Matchbox, all locations. Great service, fun food and drinks. The brunch special is a great idea! I highly recommend
Really excellent pear salad and cremini pizza- kudos to your chef and staff!
Our food took almost an hour to come out. The Mgr did come by and apologize and offered us a complimentary appetizer. I will still go back..I’m a fan.
Easter dinner for my mom. Crab cakes were not as good as they used to be. Onion straws that came with my sliders were cold. Waiter had tables on both top and bottom floors making his ability to provide good service problematic. Phones were not working so calling to modify the reservation was not possible. Lots of little things combined to lessen what could have been a terrific meal out
Was looking forward to Easter brunch here all week. We waited easily 70 minutes before we saw the first morsel of food after we sat down. I get that they're slammed for Easter ...but I'll not be going back ever again because of this experience.
I would not recommend to anyone for Brunch. We were very disappointed in the changed to the Never-ending tapas style brunch. The price per person was way to high for the lower quality food with this setup. The kitchen is not able to keep up with the dishes and the wait staff has very little to do. We were very disappointed in this change. We loved coming here for brunch before, but will never return for this brunch again. Matchbox is a great restaurant for lunch and dinner......and now we are sad to see the Brunch option ruined.
I recently brought my family to brunch at Matchbox. Overall the food wasn’t too bad and my family enjoyed it. However, it didn’t seem the staff/kitchen was able to accommodate the number of guests in the restaurant therefore limiting our “unlimited” brunch experience. The experience is marketed as only 2 hours which should be enough. However, we were greeted after 6 minutes of sitting down. We ordered all of our food/drinks at this time. The drinks didn’t arrive until 15 minutes later and the food until 25 minutes after ordering. The same occurred with the next order, about 30 minutes for the food. So, in summation, it was very difficult to enjoy the experience of trying various dishes as the two hours would expire merely from waiting for the food to arrive.
We had Easter brunch here. They didn't have anything different from their normal brunch menu, which consists of their brunchbox menu. They have multiple menu items, which you pick from and they bring them fresh. There is no limit as to the number of menu items you can order. It's about $31 per person, and kids under 6 eat free. I found the blueberry french toast particularly good. We also had eggs, shrimp grits (which were much better than I expected), a meat pizza, a sausage breakfast burrito, cinnamon bun, among other things. Everything was great. With doing again.
We love it here. We go at least once a month. Upstairs is a little noisy, but the atmosphere is great. Their new menu items are great!
Overall experience was awesome. A small dinghy because of noise level in regards to where we sat. We actually enjoyed being in the boxes in booths on the second level but our voice reverberated within in the booth making it seem louder. Food was fantastic from apps to dessert. Service was awesome and friendly. Definitely would recommend for a brunch or dinner with a small group.
Terrific and delicious
Loved the new menu items!
Sunday brunch was excellent! A new discovery and we will return.
Food delicious..service excellent. Had 2 birthday guests.. A Little disappointed no treats for them.
We were doing a hit-and-run on the way to the movies and had a server in training. She was fine and got help from an experienced server. Shrimp and grits appetizer was just what I wanted, pizza (Spicy Meatball) reviews were good. Nice Manhattan. A bit pushy on the upsell despite telling them several time we had a limited time window and weren't going to be ordering more. Still, I'd go back. Pleasant time.
Service was disappointing. Had requested a more quiet location in Open Table and they wanted to seat us in the bar. When we were finally seated in another room it took a good 20 minutes to get our drinks. Food was ok but I ordered the steak salad and got 5 or 6 small bites of steak for $22. Won’t go back.
Made reservations. Asked to be seated outside. Was told the wait was 5-10 minutes for setting up table and waters. Didn’t have waters when we got to table. Food was good. Drinks were good except a miss pour of wine. We will definitely go back. Appetizer portion smaller than expected. Pizza was amazing. Quick service.
My 28th birthday.
The music in the bar area was too LOUD. It affected conversation at my table in the restaurant area.
Way too pricey for this type of restaurant. The best part of the meal was the bread, so what does that say. Shrimp and grits appetizer was good, but I have had better as an entree at other restaurants for the same price. Pizza mediocre for the price. The same could be said for the burgers. Fries the same as I can buy at the supermarket in frozen foods. Drinks ok. Not a great pour on the martini and 3 attempts made to get a soft drink order right. Bartender never noticed syrup was missing from the drink and it was just fizzy water. Brunch offering is just plain silly. $31.50 for all you can eat, and still pay for bloodys and mimosas. For someone like me, who only eats an appetizer for my main course, it would be ridiculous to spend that much money and just eat an omelet or chicken and waffles. WHY not make the brunch ala carte???? Thought we would try something new, but big mistake. Server was great though.
It is a great place for happy hour - fun, great music, big appetizers, cold beers, etc.
I was disappointed that they changed the bread for the spinach dip (Mosaic location had a crustier sliced bread that was simply delicious). Also the sliders were not as tasty as the ones at the Mosaic location - the fried onions were really greasy and not crunchy and the sliders themselves were quite dry (not enough cheese). The shrimp and grits was the best dish.
The food was good. The tartar tacos are always a go to for us. The cocktails are excellent. We were seated almost immediately as we arrived right in time for our reservation. It was a busy Saturday night with lots of families, so it was a little on the loud side but not too bad. It was mostly the occasional high pitch sounds coming from the cartoons a few of the children were watching on devices.
We had a party of six upstairs near the kitchen entrance. My son and I both order the filet mignon medium rare. My son's filet came out so rare to the point it was cool in the middle. The management apologized and cooked another one. The second one came out the same as the first...rare. My filet was overcooked to the point of being well done. I just ate it. We will never return.
It was good but I don’t think the food was amazing
Section we sat in was cold, many had jackets on or were asking to move. Very uneven temps throughout the restaurant unnoticed when visiting restrooms. Service was very good but food was just OK so not worth price. Kitchen went crazy with the old bay seasoning on fries and wings we ordered. I want to like this place but I’ve come to the determination that few places in One Loudoun are worth the prices they charge.
We were seated right away. We had an excellent server. We told our server we only get together once a month and we like to sit and talk. He hardly came over except to see if our food was ok, to fill our glasses and to see if anything else was needed.
This is the first time I've dined at Matchbox that I thought the food was not quite as good - that apple/cheese salad is usually good- the lettuce wasn't as good this time and the dressing not as good.
The sliders were not hot and were somewhat dry/overcooked. Server was wonderful.
Nice local restaurant. Great service (by Cristian), good value.
